Zach Brooker looks Forward to This Upcoming Season With The Trojans

Zach Brooker is approaching his junior season with the USC Trojans. The experience has been nothing short of any expectation for Brooker, as having the opportunity to continue his basketball collegiately in his hometown of Los Angeles and attending a prestigious academic institution that will allow him to thrive academically. Brooker is pursuing a major in Business Administration with an emphasis in Entrepreneurship while also minoring in Media, Culture, and Entertainment.

Last year the Trojans concluded with a 26-8 overall record by opening the season with a 13- game win streak and an NCAA tournament appearance for the second year in a row, coming off an Elite 8 run prior with top pick Evan Mobley.

Brooker is heading into his second season with the Trojans after being a reserve last year. He is looking forward to his evolving year within the team and contributing to USC’s vast history of winning culture. Brooker had a great experience his first year on the team, learning how to evolve into the college system and the upbeat tempo of play from his high school years. He had the opportunity to learn under the leadership of the NBA draftee Isaiah Mobley and NBA prospect Drew Peterson. The Trojans were ranked all season long, ranking as high as fifth in the AP Poll and finishing the season twenty-second overall in the poll. This opportunity allowed Brooker to see the ups and downs of college basketball and learn from excellent veteran leadership from upperclassmen.

Brooker is heading into his junior year, and the team’s make-up is entirely different with losing two players to the transfer portal, such as Max Agbonkpolo and Ethan Anderson, to the University of Wyoming. The Trojans also lost Isiah Mobley to the NBA Draft. Brooker is excited for the opportunity year with a completely different team landscape and a much younger, experienced core of players.

The Trojans have high expectations for the upcoming season with hopes of another run in the tournament and goals of winning a national championship.
