Born on February 12, 1953, in Minersville, Pennsylvania, to Pat Droskinis, the Minersville and Cass Coach, James (Jim) Peter Droskinis has proved himself as a remarkable individual whose entire life is filled endlessly with extraordinary accomplishments. Droskinis has made a remarkable transition from a brilliant military career to a prosperous civilian life, creating an enduring impression in a number of sectors.
Born and raised in the coal regions of Pennsylvania, Droskinis attended Penn State University for his undergraduate studies after earning his diploma from Minersville Area High School in 1971. His graduation from Penn State in 1975 with a Bachelor of Science in Law Enforcement and Corrections, set the stage for a life of self-control and commitment. He pursued further education, graduating from Central Michigan University satellite location with a Master’s Degree in Personnel Management while serving in the U.S. Army in Washington, D.C.
Droskinis had a distinguished military career filled with national service. He enlisted as a Private First Class and went on to Fort Benning, Georgia, for Officer Candidate School (OCS), where he graduated in 1977 as an infantry officer. Droskinis made major contributions over his 23-year employment in a variety of command and staff posts, including active participation in the 7th Infantry Division’s combat operations during “Operation Just Cause” in Panama in 1989 as Task Force Aviation Adjutant. His distinguished military career came to an end in 1999, when he retired as a Lieutenant Colonel from U.S. Army Forces Command Headquarters (FORSCOM), receiving praise for his leadership and commitment and was awarded the Legion of Merit medal.
After making a smooth transition to civilian life, Droskinis entered the defense contracting industry and kept up his outstanding leadership and knowledge. From 2008 to 2009, he was employed as an international business manager for the defense industry, working under demanding conditions in both Kabul, Afghanistan, and Baghdad, Iraq. After serving in both combat zones, he worked in a number of high-level managerial roles, such as Vice President of Business Development at Vose Technical Systems (VTS), demonstrating his capacity to promote expansion, manage a large workforce, and streamline operations.

In addition to his positions in the military and at companies, Droskinis is a prolific writer who offers insightful perspectives in several published books on subjects such as the true story about the famous four-man softball team, the King and his Court. It is called “Tales of the Last Barnstormer,” and features the King, Eddie Feighner, and how his replacement, Rich Hoppe, touched lives spiritually as he pitched more than softballs as he traveled the world. Another is the story of the legendary 1957 Cass Twp high school football team, “Undefeated Untied Unscored Upon.” His literary pursuits demonstrate his dedication to telling and conserving tales.
In his private life, Droskinis lives with his wife Kathi and their pets in Newnan, Georgia, which is close to Atlanta. Their dedication to the well-being of both individuals and the community is demonstrated by their active participation in the Peachstate Corvette organization, volunteer work at the Fayette Humane Society, and Droskinis’ position as President of his homeowners’ organization.
