Peter Lopez Giving Power Back to Authors through Publify Press

After going through the tedious process of writing, editing, and proofreading a book, most writers are faced with the problem of publishing and selling their books. While many of them face these problems not because they cannot pay for publishing, the truth is, there is a shortage of credible publishers or publishers who know their onions. Peter Lopez Jr. is an outlier who saw these problems and thought to solve them by creating Publify Press, a publishing company that caters to as many writers as possible.

Peter Lopez Jr. founded Publify Press, having worked with four major publishing companies and having garnered the required experience and the privilege of publishing at least a thousand authors. As far back as 1989, Lopez was touring the world for speaking engagements with audiences of up to 35,000 people, and seeing that he possessed the ability to push other people towards their dream gave him a sense of fulfillment.

Then, having been part of the book publishing industry for more than a decade, He felt the need to pivot and be independent. Therefore, he launched Publify Press because he has always been passionate about building up other people and seeing that the publishing industry allows him to help more people recognize and live their dreams out of becoming authors. Lopez considers Publify Press his legacy work, and he is excited and committed to helping more writers become authors.

He points out that it wasn’t their fault for many of these writers that they couldn’t meet their publishing goals. “They have great books that could help the masses, but the publishing model is broken,” Lopez explains that keeping up with this model continues to benefit the publisher and not the author in any way. Hence, the reason why establishing Publify Press became a child of necessity. “In the countless hours I have spent coaching, consulting, and guiding writers, I realize that although most of them met their goals and become authors, many of them don’t enjoy the advantages of authorship.” He started his publishing company because he knew he would never be able to fully own his brand if he didn’t own his business.

Lopez notes that establishing Publify Press was an easy decision to make because it aimed to help as many writers as possible. He explained that far too many authors fall short of their goals, and Publify allows every author on their rooster to keep 100% of the rights to their books as well as 100% of their royalties. In his words, “We’ve cracked the codes so that every one of our authors can become legitimate bestsellers.”

Lopez considers Publify a game-changer in the writing and publishing industry because they have designed a model that works and offers a white-label service that can turn every author into a publisher. Publify not only works with authors, but they also partner with them.

Lopez would love to reach entrepreneurs, business people, and coaches who want to write and publish a book on his plans. He would also like to connect with people looking for speakers and coaching.

No doubt, Publify has successfully cracked the publishing code and has given the authors power.

Darrell Kelley with a soundtrack worthy of the moment “Kamala”

Through the pandemic driven 2020 and the explosive political climate in 2021, Darrell responds with yet another track and uses music to express his and the entire country’s feelings at the moment

History is proof that music has played an important part throughout the political and cultural upheavals in the United States of America. The Women’s Movement, Free Speech Movement, the Gay Liberation Movement and the Civil Rights Movement have all had some great influential music that have ignited tensions among the people.

In 2021, we have Darrell Kelley writing songs to drive change with his tracks like “Kamala” and “Vote Him Out”. In May 2020 he dropped “Police Brutality”, a song dedicated to George Floyd and his family that calls for justice and change. The singer-songwriter is based in Atlanta and blends pop, R&B and Gospel to create messages of positivity that plainly address and question social injustices.

The musician dropped “Vote Him Out”, a gospel and spoken-word inspired track that exposes President Trump’s constant lying and implores people to vote him out of office on November 3rd. The artist is known for chronicling black history while also combatting social injustice in his music.

There wasn’t a lot of good news to report on in 2020, whether in reference to music, politics, or just the status of world culture overall, but sifting through the darkness to find a little bit of light on the other side is precisely what makes this man’s song craft so easy to get into. His new single “Kamala” is doing a good job of spotlighting one of the more significant and positive events to happen in 2020.

Kelley’s singles in 2020 hit on most every social point transpiring in the past year. In 2021, he isn’t letting the momentum behind his career go to waste, and he’s rightly kicking off the mid-winter season with a new single in “Kamala” that, as its name

would imply, comes in response to the election of the first woman of colour to serve as Vice President of the United States.

Giorgia Mondani: Revolutionising the Watch World with Instagram

Wristwatches are centuries old, but they have remained a priceless piece of fashion, relevance and style for many years. Oftentimes, you can predict a person’s class by the kind of wristwatch they wear. And when it comes to wristwatches, no one knows them better than Giorgia Mondani; well, maybe except her father- Guido Mondani. In an industry dominated by men, Giorgia has carved a niche for herself and is leading a new path that combines the legacies and richness of the past with the buzzing technology of the present.

The Mondani brand has been a trusted name in the wristwatch circle for more than 40 years – Guido and Franca Mondani were the first ones to write books about luxury watches, the Mondani Books  are best sellers in this field – But the journey for Giorgia in the watch industry began more than 20 years ago. Now 36, it is her effective application of social media like Instagram that has transformed their business in no small measure. On her Instagram page, @GiorgiaMondani, there are about 240,000 followers, comprising a strong network of wristwatch entrepreneurs, avid watch lovers and fans. This is a huge market that respects her proven knowledge and opinion about the watch business.

From every brand of Rolex you can think of and the intriguing beauty of Patek Philippe to Audemars Piguet, her knowledge of the art, craft, value and salesmanship of these brands transcends the surface. It comes from a deep passion and love for what she does. Their website, MondaniWeb– which she runs- has a whole lot of resources for people across the world seeking the best brands and deals. However, it is her aggressive use of social media that has proven to be the game changer for her and her clients.

There are so many services Giorgia Mondani offers on Instagram.

Advertising: With @GiorgiaMondani, dealers and watchmakers are able to advertise their brands for the world to see. This is quite unconventional in the watch space. Before now, all they had were conventional media ads and brands promotions on their websites. With Mondani’s huge followership, there is great opportunity for increased sales and patronage.

Networking: It is one thing to need a particular model or brand, and yet another thing to know where to find it. Giorgia’s Instagram page provides a platform for sellers and potential buyers to meet and discuss business trends, releases, prices and other rudiments of the watch industry.

Knowledge/Updates: This is, perhaps, one of the most important aspects of that buzzing Instagram Page. You can’t deny the power of information when it comes to wristwatches. You’ll often find collectors, potential collectors and enthusiasts flocking her page for the latest watch complication, design, technology or releases. You too can be the first to know by just following her page.

Also, a Trusted Dealers link is provided for those interested in meeting up with verified dealers for any kind of wristwatch they desire. All of these combine to revolutionize social media for business as we know it.

Next to her use of social media is Mondani Books, where she is a celebrated author. Giorgia Mondani has her life’s work cut out for her; when she’s not reaching out to numerous followers and teaching them all they need to know about wristwatches, she’s inspiring the world with bestsellers on timeless timepieces. The Rolex Encyclopedia is a great example of one of such books. But when she’s not doing any of these, you’ll find her having a great time with her husband, Daniele and their lovely kids.

Giorgia Mondani has nothing more to prove. She has not only succeeded in an industry that men struggle to find a footing; she is today ranked among the leading leaders in the global wristwatch industry- that is a real feat!

Evan Sharma: The Fast-Rising Art Star who wants to solve global challenges

Throwing Numbers – Jackson Pollock portrait

We had a chance to sit down with the 17-year-old art phenomenon to discuss his influences, views on philanthropy and how we need to use both sides of our brain to solve global issues.

Question: It has been written elsewhere that you were inspired to become an artist when you saw works by da Vinci, Rembrandt, and Jackson Pollock at major museums. Can you take us through what seeing these artists meant to you?

For each artist it was something a little different.

Because I have spent a lot of time working in the field of science and competing in science fairs da Vinci, was really an important early influence as he was such a strong contributor to the thinking in both the areas of art and science. He was really the quintessential Renaissance thinker. I remember studying a lot of his detailed anatomy work and comparing it to the medical texts of my parents and seeing how accurate his work was.

For Rembrandt, I love the way that he uses and thinks about light. I am very lucky because our city of Kingston has one of the largest Rembrandt collections in the country and I feel that the dramatic nature of his work is based on the interplay between light and the dark silhouettes that he worked with.

And for Pollock, I like his practical nature and the way he approached painting in a more rugged way and movement-oriented way. I really had a chance to explore Pollock’s thinking when I created the painting Throwing Numbers. The piece actually centered around the number 1.72. I did this because scientists looked at Pollock’s work, using a mathematical principle called factoral analysis and showed that the patterns were highly repeatable (1.72 score) and not random at all.

Question: You have experienced a consistent rise over the past few years. Tell us a bit more about selling your work for the first time in a venue with more established artists?

I guess it started when I was 12 and was showing my work at Toronto’s Artist Project.

I remember a lovely woman came up to me and said that she saw me on TV earlier that morning. She said that she decided to come to the show to meet me and look at my work. While the show was in Toronto, she was in town visiting from LA. She bought my Bob Dylan portrait. I didn’t realize it at the time, but she was a serious collector and she has some great works, including a Picasso and other prominent artists. So for me, it was an honour, and validating to know that my work was going to someone who really appreciates art.

Drive Carefully Me – a portrait of Paul Newman

Question: I know that science has been influential in your work. Can you please expand on this some more?

Firstly, my scientific research is the actual subject matter of some of my paintings. For instance, I am working on a new 2050 series in which I am reimagining various landscapes if we are to embrace some important core principles aimed at lowering greenhouse gas emissions. This is an area that I have been researching for a few years. For those who may not know, cows frequently belch as food moves back and forth between their multi-lobed stomach or rumen. But this process ferments their food and releases a very high concentration of methane gas which has a ten-fold impact on the environment as compared to carbon dioxide. My research showed that the introduction of an enzyme derived from an anaerobic bacteria into a simulated cow rumen can lower methane production by 70%. The core research and methodology is depicted on the backside of the paintings in this series, while the front side features silhouettes of cows roaming the landscape.

Secondly, I have really grown up spending most of my time in the outdoors. I have been an alpine ski racer spending most of my winters on the snow, and sailing and surfing in lake Ontario during the summers. Sadly, these activities – mostly skiing – will likely come to an end with global warming. I showcase some of these great spaces in my landscapes as they may soon become relics of past time.

Also conceptually, I fundamentally believe that global challenges like climate change and pandemic management will require us to think at the intersection of both art and science. A solution should be rooted in science, but to move people it has to appeal to their heart and emotions. This position is the central thesis which I am promoting with RBLB (Right Brain Left Brain) Fashion.

Question: You are now launching the CovART Challenge. Can you tell me about your hope with the project and your thinking on philanthropy?

I think that we all have a responsibility to help others. I have been exceptionally lucky by growing up in Canada and being exposed to the great outdoors. Unlike people in many other places in the world, we have an excellent infrastructure of clean water and air, education and nutrition.

What I learned during the pandemic is that while the prevalence of COVID was lower in Africa, to get there many families had to stop working. This meant that kids could no longer go to school Additionally it has dramatically affected their food supply. Together these are resulting in the potential for a “lost generation” of students.

What I decided to do was create a challenge whereby I would auction off a couple of pieces of my work to my collector base and challenge other artists to do the same. I am incredibly humbled to have 20 outstanding artists who have agreed to join me to help in this cause. Our target is to fund 250,000 meals for kids in Kenya – a country where my grandmother was born and raised.

To launch the challenge, I will be auctioned off Drive Carefully Me – which is a portrait of Paul Newman which tells the story of his Daytona Rolex watch that raised millions of dollars for charity. I will be concluding the two-week challenge with my 46664 painting which is a layered piece telling the story of Nelson Mandela’s life.

Sharma with 46664 – his portrait of Nelson Mandela

Question: As you continue to expand your careers in art and fashion, who would you like to collaborate with in the future? Do you have a dream project in mind?

The concept of collaborations is really an interesting one. The CovART Challenge has really been an incredible opportunity to meet with other artists and curators to discuss ideas. I have also recently done a collab with Shopify where an original piece will be used for T-shirts through their platform.

Moving forward there are a number of designers that I really like. Because of my interest in skiing, one of my layers has always been Patagonia. I also read a book about their company and really like their corporate culture and leadership. I know that they typically don’t collaborate with others, but if they’re open to it that would be awesome!

Also, I really like technical things and love watches, so if a major watchmaker like Jacob, AP or Richard Mille called, let’s just say I would be more than happy to take it.

Wahira Labelle Uses Art and Advocacy to Give Hope to Black Minorities, Refugees, and LGBTQ Migrants

Wahira Labelle uses her voice as an artist, storyteller, and activist to draw attention to crucial sociopolitical issues. As a Black trans woman migrant and refugee, Wahira shares her insights into difficult lived experiences to communicate the reality of displacement and the importance of equality.

Wahira Labelle is of Somali descent. Fleeing from the civil war in her home country, the artist grew up in refugee camps. In Somalia, identifying as LGBTQ already attracts the death penalty. Other people in the refugee camps soon found an issue with Wahira’s femininity. She was made fun of even for the way she sat. On top of invalidating her developing identity, they ridiculed and beat her up. Having found her way to California, Wahira is leading the charge in advocating for the dignity and rights of the LGBTQ community and minorities at large.

The complex intersection of race, gender identity, politics, and other social or cultural constructs can be difficult to discuss. Much information and emotion can be lost in translation due to the limitations of language or misunderstood due to cultural differences. Recognizing this challenge and her unique position in shedding light on these issues, Wahira Labelle constantly searched for different ways to tell her story.

Fortunately, Wahira Labelle found art and activism. In addition to speaking five different languages, she has also explored the role of music in one’s journey to healing. Art and music are powerful forms of expression that convey the human experience to a universal audience. Wahira discovered that she could express her pain with a pen, pouring her heart out writing songs. She uses these art forms to share her lived experiences as a refugee who crossed borders and climbed mountains to get to where she is today.

“Create your own tribe” is one of Wahira Labelle’s most famous quotes. The line embodies Wahira’s empowering message that people can come together and choose to form welcoming communities. Despite all that she has already achieved, Wahira focuses on the work that still needs to be done. She continues to maximize the use of her platform to advocate for Black minorities, refugees, and LGBTQ migrants.

Throughout all the pain, suffering, and loss that characterize Wahira’s work, hope remains her central theme. Her primary goal is to be the voice for the voiceless, especially Black refugees. “I want people, my people, to feel validated and that life has not ended when they hear my song. No matter how far it may seem, there’s still hope,” says Wahira Labelle.

Wahira has now lived in the United States for over ten years. She works for a government transport company. The little girl in the refugee camp who was not recognized, ridiculed continuously, and beaten up now shares a message of hope. She assures her community that although there is a long journey ahead, things will get better. Wahira Labelle has been featured on BBC Africa, Blavity News, QueersEthiopia, and many more.

“I Was Shy Until I Started To Dance”

“Humankind is suffering its darkest time in modern history,” says Mike Jean, CEO of MLife Music Group. “‘No Goodbyes’ is a song for anyone who has ever lost someone.”

Written and performed by Norman Alexander “No Goodbyes” is the heart and soul of the tribute video In Memoriam, providing the forum and feeling for American Ballet Theater’s Erica Lall and Carlos Gonzalez’s performance of pain and poetry.

“When I first heard Norman’s piercing emotions [in “No Goodbyes”] I thought about my two grandfathers, who I feel are still with me,” says Lall. “With the losses of the past year, I feel this song will offer comfort to so many.”

Styled by celebrity designer and stylist Henry Picado and filmed by Austin Hein Productions In Memoriam invites viewers to feel. And remember.

“Such a strong and needed message in the world we live in right now,” says Gonzalez. “So many people are losing their lives, and it’s important we appreciate all those around us who have helped and continue to help us grow and learn. ‘No Goodbyes’ speaks to that.”

And so does dancing.

Lall and Gonzalez both found a profession in an art form that expresses and heals, much like music.

“Dancing has always been a part of my life,” says Gonzalez. “I started when I was 6 and haven’t stopped ever since. I discovered a different way of expressing my feelings and my emotions through movement.”

“I was shy until I started to dance,” says Lall. “It’s how I express my joy and vulnerability and how I share my heart with the world. “

Talking about his first release, “No Goodbyes,” Alexander says, “It is important that we remember our loved ones just the way they were. We must never forget them, tell the world of the stories they left behind, and say their names so they echo through time.”

In Memoriam is now available.

Kevin T. DeWitt Makes a Steady Rise to the Top as a Promising Actor

Whether he is filming another movie or doing creative collaborations for theater productions, promising actor Kevin DeWitt stays on track and focuses on becoming successful in the entertainment industry. While music was his first love from a very young age, he eventually gravitated toward acting, something that he has been very good at from the beginning. His consistent excellent performance in every project is a clear indication that he is making his way to the top steadily.

The native of New England was part of the Coming 2 America cast, playing alongside veteran actors Eddie Murphy and Arsenio Hall. He was also privileged to work with other exceptional talents on set that include Kenya Barris, who wrote the film, and director Craig Brewer. For Kevin DeWitt, being part of the sequel to the classic original film was one of the greatest honors of his career. Aside from Coming 2 America, Kevin appeared in other films as the lead character. These films include The Dirty Stall and Our Brothers Lives Matter. He also appeared in several TV series such as The Quad, Dead Silent, ATL Homicide, Fatal Attraction, and Over My Dead Body

Kevin DeWitt’s motivation to pursue acting as a serious career spring from a deep realization that there is a need to change the perception of many people about African-Americans. Seeing a society that made so little room for the Black voice to be heard amid the masses, Kevin pursued powerful platforms to bring honor to the Black community in general: through television and film.

“From seeing stories being told about your culture and the history of African-Americans without truly understanding our point of view or from stories being told which consistently exclude African-Americans or when we are included, it is only when we are downtrodden. Watching stories being told like this sparked the flame for me to go out and change the perception and the narrative for African-Americans in film and television,” Kevin DeWitt explains.

With the future in mind, Kevin has nothing but high hopes that African-Americans will reach a point in history where there will be mutual respect regardless of their educational background, status, or line of profession. They will be viewed by many as fellow human beings who have the capacity to be great, to be catalysts for change, and to lead in various industries at the same time. In this pivotal time for the Black community in America, Kevin DeWitt looks forward to being a force for change, to be right in the middle of the movement that will inspire a better way of life for all African-Americans.

“[I am] pushing the culture forward to tell the stories in ways we never have seen or thought to before, collaborating with like-minded individuals on projects outside of film and television to help empower African-Americans and change how we are perceived and received by the world. Working to find and empower more individuals who are trying to uplift those around them through the use of film and television to inspire change on an international scale and not just domestically,” Kevin DeWitt adds.

As Kevin continues to pursue other opportunities to do collaborations that will support his personal goal to excel in the entertainment industry, he is confident he is getting closer and closer to fulfilling his dreams. He hopes that through his life, other people will get inspired and see that they, too, can pursue great things in life and be good at it.
