Despite facing numerous obstacles, including a move that forced him to leave his football team during his sophomore year and also basically becoming homeless after graduating high school, Xavier’s unrelenting mindset kept him going. He joined the Brockton  in 2020 and went semi-pro, leading his team to the championship game, but ultimately losing due to a series of bad calls. In 2021 he became team captain for Boston Chargers, but unfortunately suffered a knee injury that kept him off for the bulk of the year. However, that did not stop him from leading his team in touchdowns in 2022.

According to Xavier, having the right mindset is essential for success in football. He quotes John Cena’s “never give up” and has had miracles happen from never giving up. He was voted the youngest captain in the organization at just 20 years old due to his leadership skills and unwillingness to give up.

Xavier has some advice for anyone trying to start a career in football. “Football keeps you off the streets and is mental as much as it is physical,” he says. “Know your stuff, coaches make a big impact, and you’ll always walk away from football with a brother. Channel negativity into football, and you’ll do great.”

His ultimate goal is to make the NFL Jets roster as a wide receiver, and he is working tirelessly towards that dream. He has overcome the challenge of being homeless  while chasing his dreams and differentiates himself with hard work and outworking anyone.

Xavier is currently playing for the Boston Charges and plans to showcase his skills in the hopes of making it to the NFL roster. If he does not make it to the NFL, he plans to start his collegiate career in 2023. His nickname, 7/11, speaks to his ability to always be open and never really covered.
