Born and raised in Orange County, CA, WIIM, the Musician is a rising star in hip hop. With a mission to bring a unique flavor of creativity into mainstream hip hop, WIIM is making a name for himself as the perfect hybrid between underground and mainstream, combining catchy hooks and clever wordplay every time he touches an instrumental.
WIIM’s passion for music began at a young age when he started writing at age 14. His mother recognized his talent and noticed his impeccable essays from school. At age 15, WIIM’s older brother, a producer before joining the military, sent him his first studio mic to start recording himself. After that, WIIM began recording almost daily, getting 1% better every time he hit the studio. Although the quality was not up to par back then, every baby step holds credit to the sound he has developed into today.
WIIM’s dedication to his craft led him to start performing at local dive bars at age 16 and eventually graduate to local clubs by age 18. After receiving a connection from a coworker, he landed numerous opening acts at Orange County’s most well-known venue, The Observatory Orange County. His fan base and buzz kept growing as monthly shows kept coming, and he knew greatness was possible.
Somewhere along his young adult journey, WIIM created Organically Gifted. First a lifestyle motto, then a clothing brand; many friends, family, and fans have gotten Organically Gifted tattooed onto themselves, forever branding themselves with the message. Being Organically Gifted means recognizing the gifts you were born with and using it as a guiding light every waking moment until you fulfill your purpose.
Over a decade after its inception, WIIM’s studio-quality has gone from good to great, and he began recording other artists locally and worldwide. In addition, his love for the studio is now used to pass down knowledge to younger, less-educated artists. “I see myself in younger artists. I had a few good mentors when I was starting, so it only makes sense for me to pass the gems down like they were passed to me,” WIIM says.
In December 2022, WIIM created Wav Doctor. For those not able to come into his studio personally, he wanted to make it easier for “Bedroom Studio Artists” to achieve the sound they desire, even as a beginner. So he used his 10+ years of mixing/mastering knowledge to carefully curate several vocal presets with various styles to pick from. Just record, drag, and drop. Each preset is 100% customizable to fit your voice and performance. In 2023, using technology to beat the learning curve and simply be creative only makes sense.
At age 27, WIIM feels he is only beginning his music career. However, his dedication to his craft and passion for helping other artists achieve their goals have set him on a path to success. WIIM’s mission is to “Bring a unique flavor into hip hop by being the perfect hybrid between catchy melodies and clever punchlines.” Wav Doctor’s mission statement is to “Help independent recording artists quickly find their sound using various, hand-crafted vocal presets similar to their favorite artists.”
