The Struggle That Led to Success for Sofia Estrada Castro

Sofia Estrada Castro has rightfully earned her title as the Real Estate Queen as the owner of a business that generates millions of dollars each year. However, her success over the past several years didn’t come without a struggle. As someone who started from the bottom to get to the top, Sofia hopes her story of success helps leave women in real estate feeling empowered and ready to take on an industry commonly dominated by men.

Before her successful business venture, Sofia spent years working for different companies after dropping out of high school. Later in life, she met her now-husband, Bobby, who encouraged her to work with him on a business venture. And, although it wasn’t successful, the two never lost sight of the bigger picture — becoming entrepreneurs and building generational wealth for themselves and their loved ones.

“Because the first business didn’t work out as planned, Bobby and I both went back to work for different companies but continued to have drive and passion for entrepreneurship. So, we decided to invest in a how-to manual to help us get things started,” shared Sofia Estrada Castro. “The manual wasn’t cheap. We actually spent around $1800 on it, asking our parents to help us with the investment. Our parents believed in us enough to help us pay for the cost of this manual that we now had to study and use to get us to where we’ve eventually gotten today. So, there was some pressure there because we didn’t want to fail again.”

The journey to success required long days and even longer nights, with Bobby and Sofia working hard to build the business. “I remember I would work during the day and then come home and handle the business at night. It was tiring, tedious, and time-consuming, but it was worth it because of where it got us in the end. It took about a year for our business to grow to the point that I was ready to quit my day job and work the business full-time,” said Sofia. “In 2001, we changed our strategy to a private lending equity firm geared toward the medical industry, and now that business generates millions each year. But, of course, it all started with that $1800 investment. We no longer own that business after our $1 billion dollar evaluation exit”

Despite her success with the business, the hard work didn’t stop there. Sofia continued to get involved in additional real estate projects, including condo conversions. Through plenty of trial and error, she learned valuable lessons on what to do and what not to do and has gained incredible wisdom in the real estate industry. Her goal is to share that wisdom with others interested in making investments and building wealth through real estate. While on a quest to educate women on how to get more involved in the industry, Sofia Estrada Castro has started Queen Ventures. She hopes that her latest venture will leave women feeling more empowered than ever before while fully ready to accomplish their goals through the world of real estate, much like she managed to do over the years.
