How A SAG-Actor Turned Comedian Built a Digital Media Empire?

Megan Nager’s love of movies began at a very young age. She would watch them repeatedly, often dressing up as the characters from these films. By the time she was12 years old, it became clear that entertainment and comedy is what Megan would pursue.

After high school, Megan attended the prestigious Washington University in St. Louis and graduated with a B.A. in both English and Spanish Literature. After graduating from college in 2012, she attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, where she studied acting, speech, dance, and musical theatre. While working as a SAG actor, Megan studied directly under Eric Moss along with Anthony Mendel and Leslie Khan. She also graduated from the acclaimed improv school, Upright Citizen’s Brigade.

Megan’s managed to make a name for herself in Hollywood thanks to her comedic digital content and original series. Her Amazon Prime series, Verified, has racked up dozens of awards for Best Romantic Comedy in film festivals throughout the country.

Taking risks. Doing what you love!

Megan took the plunge and moved to Los Angeles, California after college in order to pursue her childhood dream of becoming an actor. She left behind friends who were professionals or had successful careers for one that seemed almost impossible at times. In contrast with most people’s paths through life, which seem preordained by destiny before they can even take hold, here we see someone making decisions based on what feels right rather than following others’ expectations. When Megan first moved to LA, she attended The American Academy of Dramatic Arts. Her love for comedy re-emerged, and it has never gone away since.

From working in front of the camera as a SAG actor to writing script treatments at Steve Carell’s Carousel Production Company, Megan has spent her time in Hollywood learning as many aspects of filmmaking as possible. Megan’s combined talents and filmmaking knowledge is what led her to launch her own award-winning production company, Wake and Make Media.

Here and now! Wake & Make Media.

Today, Megan continues to act, write and produce as well as run Wake and Make Media.  Megan, along with her partner and co-owner, Corey Turner, plan on expanding Wake and Make Media through the infusion of more narrative content. For Megan, being an entrepreneur is one of the most challenging yet most rewarding endeavors she’s taken on in her life. According to her own words, “Some days, it can feel really overwhelming, especially because I’m juggling my work for Wake and Make and my acting and podcast work for my personal brand. Therefore, when I’m not working on my marketing career, I’m creating comedic content for my social media channels, which have over a combined 100,000+ followers.”

Additionally, Megan is the creator, producer and co-host of a Spotify Original podcast, POPSPIRACY, where her and her partner, Erin Darling, breakdown and debunk pop culture conspiracy theories.
