Twice this year, Zinn has climbed to No. 2 on the US iTunes Singer/Songwriter Daily chart. “Questions” got there on June 2 and “Breaking Point” did it again on July 21. Doing that once as an independent artist is a good year. Doing it twice in a single summer shows we have a star on our hands, and it is the reason her fourth single of 2026 arrives with real weight behind it. “Leads Back to You” is exceptional.
The song takes on nature versus nurture, and it does not resolve the argument so much as sit inside it. The premise is that you become more like the people around you than you ever notice while it is happening, and that the recognition usually shows up late, triggered by something small. Zinn writes it as a reckoning rather than a complaint. The people who shaped her are not villains in this song. They are simply the reason she sounds, thinks, and reacts the way she does, and the song’s honesty lies in refusing to sort that into good or bad.
Musically, it is pop with a moody alternative undercurrent, which has become the lane she works best in. The production leans darker than the melody suggests, so the hook lands warm while everything underneath it stays unsettled. That tension is the point. A song about inherited traits should feel slightly at odds with itself.
Mozart produced the record, and Zinn wrote it alongside Lil Eddie, Nick Dre André, and Eric “DobleU” Barragán. That is the same writing room that shaped “Breaking Point,” and the continuity matters. Lil Eddie, born Edwin Serrano, has built a catalog as a two-time Grammy winner and 12-time nominee, and the fact that this trio keeps coming back to Zinn’s material says something about what they hear in her. A writer with that record does not repeat-book sessions out of politeness.
The session itself is worth knowing about. Zinn came in struggling that day, carrying a stack of memories that had been surfacing since morning, all pointing to the same realization about who raised her and who she grew up around. Lil Eddie noticed before she said anything. “Let’s write about it,” he told her. What could have been a wasted afternoon turned into the song, and by her account, the writing did more than produce a record. It worked something out.
Zinn’s momentum is not confined to the music either. “Breaking Point” drew coverage from Billboard Brasil, which ran a feature on the single and her turn toward this heavier, more personal writing. Between the press and her steady run of releases, the case for her as an independent pop artist worth following builds itself without much help.
For listeners who orbit Bebe Rexha, Paramore, Miley Cyrus, and Evanescence, Zinn sits comfortably in that conversation, and a future collaboration with any of them would be a natural fit. We hope to see it.

Four singles deep with international press already logged, the album is arriving with an audience that has been paying attention all year.
