Moxie Knox, Promising World-Class Musical Artist from The Bronx

Music icon Moxie Knox, born in The Bronx and raised in New York City, started her career in show business at age five as a dancer. Thanks to her extraordinary talent, she has performed on renowned stages like the Alvin Ailey Studios. Her melody and lyrics are guaranteed to uplift the spirit, allowing her to stand out in today’s music scene among other new artists. Her music is made more authentic by her tone’s depth, richness, and velvety smooth sound.

The highly-trained dancer initially took ballet and tap dance at The Dance Theater of Harlem. From there, she expanded her horizons and learned gymnastics, contemporary, hip-hop, jazz, and African dance at the Millenium Dance Company.

Moxie also grew an interest in poetry and songs when she was five. Finding the wordplay of rappers to be particularly fascinating, she started studying song structure and deciphering song lyrics while listening to music during her pastime. She also attended various writing classes, workshops, and poetry slams. This set the tone for her early career trajectory, as she would write and record her songs a cappella. Moxie had no idea her ability was gold in the music scene until she saw how awestruck people became when they heard her talk about what she could do musically.

Her diverse upbringing also played a crucial role in shaping the singer-songwriter’s creativity and unique outlook. Specifically, having attended some of the best schools on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, Harlem, and Brooklyn, she was able to pick up a lot of inspiration and ideas. Not only that, but the institutions she studied at were equally focused on math, sciences, and the arts. This gave her a well-rounded perspective on the craft, where she was a calculus tutor as well as an artist and choreographer.

The rising superstar also gets heavily involved in the creative process of all aspects of her song production. In fact, she writes treatments and directs or co-directs her independently released music videos and carefully chooses the artists she collaborates with to better craft their sound around her vision and vocals before delivering her pre-mixed songs to the mixing and mastering engineers.

As a voracious learner, Moxie has perfected her sound in voice fitness lessons and performance training five days a week while pursuing her academic studies in business and music theory. The multi-genre songwriter recognized the importance of learning and made sure to prioritize her education in music theory and sound design. Ultimately, Moxie used modern audio workstations like ProTools, Logic, Reason, Ableton, and Maschine to hone her audio engineering and vocal production talents.

Moxie’s first two singles and music videos, “Thorough” and “One More Time,” were released in 2018 after much refinement. “Thorough” became a hit when it was uploaded by the renowned music website Pigeons & Planes. On the other hand, “One More Time” surpassed 40,000 streams and gained a spot on Audiomack’s “Verified R&B” playlist in its first few weeks. Currently, the “One More Time” music video, directed by Moxie and Peter Frederick, is nearly gaining three million streams.

Besides her impeccable skills and admirable work ethic, the gifted artist possesses a charming personality that makes people gravitate to her. As a natural and warm-hearted leader, she can communicate with anyone regardless of their background. She is also a free-spirited individual with a knack for spontaneity who traveled to London right before moving to Los Angeles so she could explore and work with one of her favorite producers.

Not only that, but she uplifts people and lights up every room she walks into. Many even describe her as “on-point, self-motivated, and inspiring.” This infectious energy translates to her creations, and several of her fans have shared how her music has moved them. For example, her song “Love Me Right,” has immensely resonated with listeners, and some have even generously shared their stories, such as deciding to commit to being a more loving partner to their spouse, filing for divorce from an unhealthy marriage and even canceling their plans to commit suicide.

Moxie’s fans put her on Sprite’s radar in 2019 when she was recognized as an official Sprite Way Artist after her singles “Motion” and “One More Time” were added to the Sprite Way Spotify playlist. She was one of only five acts selected from 20,000 entries for Sprite’s Sprite Way opportunity, and the only artist Sprite flew out from New York to Los Angeles to participate in BET Experience as a Sprite Way panel speaker. During this trip, she opened for world-famous poet Rudy Francisco on his tour at the Met Theater.

In October 2019, Moxie debuted the music video for her Self-Love Anthem, “Love Me Right,” through a collaboration with Sprite and UPROXX called “Thirst For Yours.” The two companies crowdsourced eight creatives to create a treatment with Moxie and shoot the project, which earned over 71 million impressions after the “Love Me Right” music video premiered on BET Jams. The song was well-loved, that even fans from the dance and art communities produced choreographies and covers of the song, further giving it increased publicity and coverage. “Love Me Right,” now at over 10 million streams, was also featured on Joe Kay’s Soulection Apple Music Playlist &Radio.

Added to her list of achievements, Moxie was hailed as the face of Pandora’s Indie R&B playlist immediately upon the release of her ten-song debut album, “Ride,” on April 20th, 2021. The album was co-produced by Moxie and multi-instrumentalist, composer, and Grammy nominee Phillip Lewis, mixed by Grammy award-winning producer and engineer High Octane and multi-platinum engineer Anthony Daniel, and mastered by Dan Millice, a renowned mastering engineer who has worked with A-list musicians like Kanye West, Nas, 50 Cent, Trey Songz, A$AP Rocky, Kirk Knight, and Julian Lage, among others. Two music videos for her songs, “Curious” and “Too Late,” were also created in support of “Ride.”

Her recent single, “Open Up,” also mastered by Dan Millice, has been hitting the airwaves very strongly since its release. At the moment, it has two music videos featuring a day and a night version, giving Moxie’s fans stunning visuals to watch alongside the song. The superstar on the rise also released a merch shop that sells premium shirts and totes with embroidered lyrics from “Open Up.”

Moxie has built up a flourishing career with an auspicious future. She has appeared on over a dozen stages in various locations in and near New York City, including SOBs, DROM (through MajorStage), Bowery Electric, and The Paper Box, and performed at well-known music festivals, like SXSW in Austin, Texas, and A3C (through Fader Fort) in Atlanta, where she served as the opening act for Pink Sweat$ and Lion Babe on a three-day show with Megan Thee Stallion. While back in NYC, Moxie headlined three gigs at Rockwood Music Hall, the Delancey, and Chelsea Table + Stage.

Moxie is a prime example of what music artists can achieve with the right mindset and grind. She has goals of performing in bigger stadiums in front of tens of thousands of adoring fans, and she’s already close to getting there. With many more exciting record releases, drops, and features on the way with well-known global producers like Maya Jane Coles and artists from Germany, London, Netherlands, and more, Moxie’s career will continue its upward trajectory to the top of the entertainment industry.

SEU President Dr. Kent Ingle is Bringing His University National Recognition and Growing Numbers

University President Dr. Kent Ingle has always made a great impression on people with his affable manner, get-it-done attitude, and natural talent for storytelling. Above all else, his ability to lead turnaround organizations is both his greatest skill and gift to others.

These traits brought him his first great success — a spot on TV as a national sports news broadcaster on the major networks CBS and NBC starting when he was just 18 years old.

He began as an intern but was so capable and engaging that he was quickly placed on air — and the audiences loved him. Over his tenure as a sports broadcaster, he interviewed Michael Jordan, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Magic Johnson, Muhammad Ali, Carl Lewis, and Pete Rose, among many others.

Today, he’s achieved his proudest success yet. He is president of one of the country’s fastest-growing schools, the faith-based Southeastern University (SEU). Using his decades of expertise, he is helping the school gain popularity and recognition nationwide.

He arrived at SEU during a period when the institution was in a decline, having not had a university president in more than two years.

The school certainly made the right hire.

Numbers Don’t Lie

The Chronicle of Higher Education named SEU among the fastest-growing non-profit private universities in the U.S. Using data from 2010-2020, the school also enjoyed a 243% increase in enrollment during that decade.

The current fall semester is also a record breaker, enrollment passing the 10,000 mark and surpassing last year’s student body number of 9,365.

Nearly one-third of that total will attend classes at the school’s Lakeland campus, while the rest will work online, in a hybrid scheme, or through extension courses at one of the university’s 200 partner campuses around the country.

The school is top-ranked for producing undergraduates in religion and theology. Interest is also high enough in continuing education in these subjects that the school introduced two faith-based doctoral degrees this year as well.

Changing the Model

One thing that Ingle is passionate about is transforming what he sees as a broken education model, one that leaves students too mired in debt at graduation to indeed be able to achieve their potential. Instead, he believes in a new model that graduates students with fewer financial obligations.

“At SEU, we are working to create communicational impact and begin new conversations about what higher education can and should be — including affordability and accessibility,” said Ingle.

He also believes in transparency and availability. For this reason, he’s often seen strolling around campus, catching up with students and asking for their feedback.

“Ultimately, that’s what university presidents should do; we are here to help them become what they are destined to become. That’s what drives me,” said Ingle.

“People thought I was crazy when I changed careers. I quickly realized that the two careers have something in common: storytelling in a way that grabs your audience and stays with them. I can tell stories that teach people and help them to see how to be better at being who they are and recognizing their unique gifts and talents,” said Ingle.

It’s comforting to know that passionate educators like Ingle are leading our country’s future faith thought-leaders, and we can’t wait to hear what SEU announces next.

Among these countless beauty specialists, there are still these talented people, hard-working individuals who saw opportunity in the hectic, plasticine growth of the skincare industry and wanted to leave their own mark. World Famous NYC Barber Shop Museum Collection is Moving

Nice to meet you Arthur, on top of all your high proficiency performance for the industry, crown jewelry of all the activities became NYC Barber Shop Museum. How did you come up with this idea?

My pleasure. So, it wasn’t an idea. It was a promise. Made when I lost my father. He was a brilliant barber for all his life, and a great father that raised another barber. He loved his trade unconditionally and started collecting. When he passed away in 2003, I made a promise that I would do a Barber Shop Museum. But honestly, I thought would do it much later, when I am far in my 50s. Even though it took me 15 years, I still didn’t expect it to happen so soon. I had an impressive collection, and it is still growing! But I guess that was just the right moment for this museum to arise.

What a beautiful commitment! What do you think brought so much attention to the NYC Barber Shop Museum and made it known worldwide?

Well, I guess when you do everything out of love, it gets exposed. Most people didn’t believe in this idea. But I truly believed, as I programmed it long-long time ago. It took years, lots of patient and precise work. If there are many collecting barbers and beautifully decorated barbershop, we took a courage and time to put it all together, bring it to official 501c3 Nonprofit organization level, research history, and been granted a status by Educational Department. So, I guess that love and devotion brought it to worldwide recognition. And we are not going to stop.

For these years of Museum work so many events, video and photo shootings took place. What was the most remarkable you think?

When people ask me what my favorite artifact is, to me they all favorite and all have sentimental value. Same thing with making videos and photo shootings. Every time there was a booked one, I was jumping of joy.

There were tons of incredible photoshoot made. We hosted DJ Muggs & Meyhem Lauren video shooting, Dirti Diana with Ruff Ryders vet Drag On music video production was like a real hip-hop party. Jaime Zevallos is not just a Marvel actor who shot an episode of award-winning documentary with us but staying a loyal customer. Once those guys from Argentina came to do a TV Show, Marley and his son Mirko. That was lot of fun, we laughed a lot and spoke some sord of Spanglish. It turned up a very nice episode. Every time any reporter came (and we had most of those in New York) some magic happened and created the most warm and friendly environment.

But! The most remarkable to me is when I share my knowledge with students. When other barber schools come around with the classes. That is completely satisfying and makes me happy.

Sounds as an excited journey. And now you are announcing that Museum is shutting its doors… When will it happen? On permanent or temporary basis?

Yes. On the 31st of this month I must give the keys. It is over for this location. And definitely permanent for collection exhibit.

How did you make this decision?

I had no choice; the landlords didn’t want to come to the agreement. But to me whatever happens, happens for the best of us. Since me collection grew, the current spot of 600 sq. ft. is too small. To change displays every 5-6 months is not easy, each chair is 200-250 pound. So, I am actually happy, it means it is time for bigger space.

Do you already have a space to make home for the collection?

Physically no, but in my heart yes. It is a law of attraction. It will find its home. If it is already here, and people loved the concept. The Creator is good and has done what is good, what it takes to make this Museum a part of the history and keep spreading the devotion to the craft of barbering.

You announced to direct all the profits from your other business, REAMIR Men’s Grooming Product Line for relocation of collection. Will it cover all the expenses, or you are looking for investors?

REAMIR company has been general sponsor of the Museum opening at the beginning. Since day one it was one of my goals to create this project without any side investments. Because again, I made myself a promise regarding this collection destination, and I am willing to keep it. This collection will keep serving its purpose. With my team I will work harder to make it happen sooner. And this team grew enormously over the time of Museum existence. Everyone who has ever visited, send us donated artifact, made direct donation, hosted a class, or attended one, – all those devotees who adapted and support our concept are making an impact.

While there is no permanent exhibit, will any collection displays be available to the public somewhere?

It is already. We have moved part of collection to the NYC Barber Shop Museum Boutique, right across the street. This historical location, keeping and attracting Barbering history since 1939 will get you even more of immersive experience and show a petite Museum display.

Another exhibition display will temporarily go to Illinois to complete presentation of another remarkable barber in history, captured in local Museum.

Yet even better! On the day NYC Barber Shop Museum will shut its doors at current physical location, it will open its virtual one. We’ve been receiving this request for all these years. There is no bigger pleasure having people coming and spreading the word all around the globe. We’ve had barbers, their families and admirers coming from all over: our very first guests were a family from Poland, France, Belgium, Spain, Portugal, Eastern countries, India, China. We have huge following from Latin America, Brazil, Argentina, Colombia…   Every single follower with internet access will be invited to visit Museum virtually.

And the last thing. When Museum will relocate and expand its presentation, will it have the same concept? What mission will it hold?

We will definitely keep holding our mission and enlightening activity. Presenting the history, traditions and immersive experience of an authentic trade of Barbering. But getting a bigger a space at least twice bigger size, I am willing to have no less than 1500 sq. ft. It will help us to allocate a proper environment for Barber Academy. We will dedicate few days a week to teach and train. From beginning to advanced trainings. We will proudly keep holding and evolving our status of Educational Establishment.

Konstantin Krayniy Champions Mental Health Through ShareSpace

According to the World Health Organization, one in every eight people suffers from a mental disorder, but mental health is one of the most neglected areas of health globally. While there have been some improvements over the last few months, there is still a long way to go.

Society does not view mental disorders as actual illnesses, and it is hard to find affordable mental-health-friendly places where you can get help. One therapy session can cost around $100-$200, which is seldom affordable for the average person. This is one of the main reasons Konstantin Krayniy built ShareSpace. After noticing that his friends would often come to him for advice and knowing that other people, too, give advice to each other at times of hardships, he developed ShareSpace to foster an environment for open, non-judgemental conversations.

It is common for people to struggle to find a safe space to talk about their mental health. Often, the only affordable option is social media, which is far from healthy and is more adequately deemed toxic. You never know when people will turn on you, meaning you have to screen everything you post. Most individuals online also focus on making everything in their life seem near perfect, further suppressing what may really be going on in their lives or taking their misplaced emotions out on others. Konstantin wanted a platform where everyone could be themselves and where they didn’t have to pretend to have it all figured out.

ShareSpace is a safe peer-to-peer mental health and well-being chat app. It has confidentiality features where you can customize your digital avatar without revealing your real identity. It is a safe learning and healing space where you can share your story with the community, get advice, or give it.

Konstantin Krayniv has partnered with business experts, nutritionists, life coaches, and mental health professionals who discuss life in its entirety. Together they share information about mental health care and well-being, why it is important, and how you can improve your mental health. Konstantin believes this will help end the stigma. As ShareSpace does not offer services from licensed professionals, it is not a complete substitute for professional help; rather, it is a more accessible resource for individuals who cannot or do not want to receive professional help.

Konstantin explains that treating people differently just because they have depression or anxiety only worsens the situation and makes it harder for others struggling with the same to talk about it. ShareSpace is destigmatizing mental health by giving people access to information and connecting them to affordable professional help. In an effort to reach and help the most people possible, the app is free of charge entirely.

ShareSpace helps you face your emotional challenges and upgrade your life by giving you the space to share your experiences with others who have gone through similar situations without fear of being judged. ShareSpace has different communities, including overthinking, stress, anxiety, loneliness, depression, emotional burnout, insecurity, and more, where you can share your story depending on the issue you are dealing with. They also have groups inside the communities.

Some ShareSpace groups are led by accredited mental health professionals, while others are created by users. This ensures everyone has a voice. You might not know much about a specific topic but excel in another. Konstantin and the team hope to create a space where people can learn from each other by giving everyone a chance to share their stories. ShareSpace is available on Google and Apple Store

The American-Born Cricketer: Suneel Kumar Shares His Post-Injury Comeback Journey in New Youtube Vlog Series

There is little that is more discouraging to an athlete’s career than dealing with injury and the setbacks they come with, like twin shackles weighing heavily on the feet while they drag on towards the slow path of recovery. Atlanta Cricketer Suneel Kumar had his fair share of injuries in the past few years, but the man refuses to be brought down by these setbacks, choosing instead to come back stronger every time and taking audiences with him through every step of his incredible journey.

Suneel’s career in professional cricket brought him all the way to the USA Men’s 30-man National Training Camp during the 2017-2018 season. But crippled by injuries, Suneel took his time to recover and made a return in the 2021 season, playing professionally in minor league cricket for the Florida Beamers.

Misfortune struck him again when that season was cut short by an unfortunate vehicle accident that left him with a broken hand. Patient and determined, Suneel once again made recovering a priority, leading to a remarkable return in 2022 with strong performances in the US Premier League. His impressive comeback garnered attention and earned him a call-up to the Global Power Cricket League based in India.

Suneel shows no sign of slowing down. During the Atlanta GA Cricket Conference on October 23rd, he stole the show playing for Atlanta Thunder with a whopping 103 not-out in just 46 balls against Atlanta Heat, including 11 fours and six sixes.

Creative, driven, and a trendsetter, Suneel not only plans to return soon to the USA Men’s National Training Camp but is also setting his eyes on uncharted waters – the world of digital media and content creation.

With no active cricketer having yet carved out a corner for vlog-style cricket content on YouTube, Suneel took on the challenge of pioneering on the platform with the creation of his channel and premiering his vlog series, aiming to shine a spotlight on the sport and his personal journey as a cricket athlete.

“I believe in this digital age, where competition is so much more than for previous generations, we as athletes have to do whatever we can to get ourselves in front of as many eyes as possible,” he shared. “Performances don’t matter if nobody is taking note of them.”

Suneel’s story of resilience, hard work, and never giving up is already one that many can look up to and take inspiration from – but it has only just begun. He will take audiences along for the ride as he takes his time in reaching the top.

“I would like to share my message with the readers and let them into who I am as a person. That person is a dreamer, and I want the dreamers of the world to know they can make their dreams come true through hard work and perseverance. You just have to stand the test of time.”

You can check out Suneel’s YouTube Channel and follow along with him for the road ahead.

Safe House Studios Provides Artists With a Safe Space to Pursue Their Unique Creative Expressions

In the highly competitive music industry, artists often face a tug-of-war between following a dependable formula guaranteed to create hit songs and staying true to one’s unique creative process. This dilemma is even more prominent in established labels where executives pressure musicians to release tracks that are profitable. As a result, many talented singer-songwriters succumb to these business demands and end up losing their authenticity. Cognizant of this, one inspiring company is committed to giving its artists autonomy and providing them a safe space to pursue their musicality: Safe House Studios.

The Chicago-based revolutionary enterprise is founded by Ricardo Ortiz, a 23-year-old visionary who is passionate about music. Proudly explaining what makes his brand different from the rest, he said, “My recording studio is intended to be a safe haven for artists. Our artists are the center of our business, and we value them. We love music, and we want to provide a haven for artists looking for a platform to grow and become great.”

On top of its admirable goal, the venture is also known for its comprehensive list of offerings. Not only does it cater to all recording needs, but it also delivers many other services. “What separates us from the rest is the part where we aren’t just a music recording studio. We also do content creations for artists looking to take themselves to the next level, such as photo content, music videos, skits, directing, teaching students, and the list will only grow,” the founder shared.

He added, “We are one of the only studios to offer in-house videography and have an isolated photography room in the same space dedicated to our clients.” As such, many clients choose Safe House Studios for its one-stop-shop nature. Moreover, the independent label has recently signed a highly acclaimed artist to its roster.

Asked to share his motivation for starting the business, the insightful individual looked back on his journey and shared, “I used to work for an exotic car company when they were nothing, and I basically handled all the promotion and sales side of it. But, then, I realized I was growing the wrong business and not focusing on my dreams.”

Aside from his undeniable passion for music, what allowed the remarkable young man to build such a successful and intuitive enterprise is his innate business acumen. Additionally, Ricardo had the incredible opportunity of being mentored by business authority Jason Valcarcel, the CEO of Private Stock, who believed in his immense potential as an entrepreneur. After witnessing the substantial growth in the studio over such a short period of time, the executive continued pushing Ricardo to keep going.

Moving forward, Ricardo Ortiz intends to continue the upward trajectory of his enterprise while remaining faithful to his vision. As the entrepreneur optimistically declared, “In due time, Safe House Studio’s offering of services will continue to grow, including becoming more interactive with schools in the city, because we would love to be resourceful to kids who are just as passionate about music.”
