SocialEyes Communications Empowers Businesses to Leverage Digital Marketing for Growth

Digital marketing is creating a whole new playing field for business owners and entities. The scale of the internet is a direct opportunity for business growth. The world wide web has completely revolutionized consumer behavior: the way companies conduct business and the way individuals make purchase decisions.

Consider the reach and scale of social platform use. There are over 4 billion active social media users across the world—and your opportunity to reach your ideal target audience, by the masses, is unparalleled. Digital marketing provides many benefits for communication, business development, exposure, and reach.

SocialEyes Communications is a digital marketing and business development firm based in Toronto, Canada. At the core of their services, SocialEyes is marrying both business development with digital marketing to produce results for their clients. Business development and digital marketing form a powerful combination that can grow a company’s reach and revenue.

Customizing the approach for each individual business is very important—no two businesses are alike, and each and every business has different objectives. “We get to know your business—inside out. Our goal is to become an extension of the companies we work with, and as such, we delve into overall objectives and set goals, and with time, those goals will change…” says Marly Broudie.

Strong digital strategies are never set in stone; “it is all about tailoring and tweaking strategy based on performance and overall business objectives,” says Marly Broudie, CEO of SocialEyes Communications Inc.

Marketing has evolved over the years—“consider the real estate industry; traditional means of communication and advertising involved door knocking, bus stop signage, and billboards. What kind of data or analytics came out of that? How many people actually saw the billboard? How could you quantify these efforts? Now, we can actually tell you how many people visited your website, where they are more likely to navigate to on your website, how many people engaged with your content, your content’s reach on each social platform…this is exciting stuff that needs to be leveraged.”

There are several digital marketing best practices that can be leveraged for overall business growth. Here are 5 that can help take your business to the next level:

       1. Set goals.

Everything digital marketing related is measurable. Consider what your overall goals are for your business. Is it brand presence? Improving credibility? New clients?

       2. Define your target audience.

Know who you are talking to. You want to make sure that your content will be created in a way that resonates with your audience.

       3. Plan your content.

Plan your content by brainstorming topics and themes that are interesting and relevant to your target audience. You want your audience to stay engaged and informed.

       4. Utilize an ad strategy.

This is one of the most important tactics. Your ad strategy is tied to performance indicators such as cost per click, cost per lead, cost per sale, cost per acquisition, etc. Your ads will allow you to target the market effectively.

       5. Measure progress.

Track your metrics and keep yourself apprised of goals and accomplishments. For example, if your goal is to lead generate, it is important to track your cost per click, click through rate, and form completions on your website. If your goal is mass exposure, you will want to start tracking your CPM.

Digital and performance-based marketing is a science—there is a method to the madness and it is all based on AI and data—and this data can help companies make better and more informed decisions that will allow them to achieve business goals, understand consumer behavior, gain insights into competitors, and ultimately drive sales growth.

Meet George Henry Horton: The Young British Director Counting His Blessings in Hollywood

George Henry Horton started his professional journey in 2011 in London when he launched YouTube channel JesterLads whilst studying at King’s College London (KCL). It soon went viral, bringing in unexpected attention to George in his early 20s. His YouTube channel was featured in several news channels, including NBC, ABC, and many others.

“I remember us being invited to appear on Good Morning America, and being pretty bummed out that I couldn’t go because we had exams the next day!”

However, his real journey into the world of films and cinemas really began when he got admitted to the reputable American Film Institute, Los Angeles. He got a major breakthrough in his career when his thesis film project, Dreadspace, was bought by Dust in the US and Channel 4 in the UK. The thesis was written and produced by George for academic purposes, and again, no expectations of this kind of attention were expected.

After completing his graduation from AFI, he threw himself into filmmaking full time, and has not looked back since. He has produced, written and directed several features, and is even a member of the Producer’s Guild of America (PGA). Some of his released projects include Waiting Game (Bruce McGill, John Patrick Amedori), Useless Humans (Josh Zuckerman, Iqbal Theba) and Ice Cream in the Cupboard (Jaime King, Dana Ashbrook).

“To be honest, it all seems obvious now that this is what I wanted to do. But that wasn’t always clear to me. I am happy the way my career has shaped up recently and I couldn’t ask for more. Currently, I am working on a really fun project, ‘Anne, With Love.’ It’s a psychological thriller, and I hoping to keep the audience very much on their toes. Mostly, I am thankful to all the leading actors in the movie, including Skins-famed Blaine Morris, American Beauty star Mena Suvari, and of course Halloween Franchise hero Danielle Harris.” George remarked.

George is hopeful that his forthcoming feature film will be released shortly. Sharing his experience about working with great artists for this film, George stated, “Mena, Danielle, and Blaine are great actors to work with. They took away my stress and portrayed their characters meticulously. They went beyond the script and dialogue to exhibit their talent. It’s really been a fairytale to have worked with them. I’m also immensely thankful to supporting cast and crew members, as well as my management company, Bohemia.  Each of them brings so much to the table.”

“In particular, working with Bohemia and developing stories with them has been fantastic.”

George hinted that his upcoming film will be a psychological horror thriller with a twisty storyline. The feature film revolves around love, trauma, horror, and relationship crisis. A little more interrogation revealed that there also remains one last casting notice to announce. George won’t say much, only that the actor in question may or may not have been nominated for an Academy Award.

“And honestly, it’s being able to work with such inspiring folks which makes it all worthwhile.”

George’s second project is Dorothy, and is a ‘sci-fi thriller’. Not hugely interested in genre specific stories, he explains he loves to explore genre-bending projects.

Project Dorothy was developed with Kinogo Pictures, a production company run by fellow AFI grad Ryan Scaringe. Recent releases of Kinogo include The Djinn and The Boy Behind the Door, both of which featured in the top 25 horror releases of 2021, according to critics.

“My role at Kinogo Pictures developing Project Dorothy and other content has been some of the most rewarding of my life. Ryan is a great collaborator and great friend. He’s someone to watch for sure. I hope he remembers me when he takes over Hollywood!”

George’s message to those interested in filmmaking is that no matter how far removed from their life it may seem, it’s entirely possible. When George started his studies at KCL he was majoring in Religion and Philosophy. Now he’s rubbing shoulders with [possible!] oscar nominees and some of the most vibrant production companies and filmmakers in Hollywood.

“Just go make something. The invisible barrier of not even trying is what stops 90% of us from receiving our aspirations, whether in the film industry or in any aspect of life in general.”

Without a doubt, New York is by every standard, a multicultural city where people from all walks of life converge to conduct business and participate in the amazing nightlife the city has to offer. Serial Entrepreneur, Ashlee Kleinschmidt, Shares Her Keys to Launching a Successful Business

Ashlee Kleinschmidt is the founder and owner of two successful beauty and lifestyle brandsMuah Makeup and Lash Bar, and LuxeXII Lifestyle. Like many people, she began with a dream, and she is able to leverage her vision, talent, and drive to deliver exceptional client experiences every day.

For anyone thinking about launching their own business, Kleinschmidt offers insightful advice for building and growing your brand.

  1. Do what you lovebut remember your audience

When you are first considering what type of business you want to create, it is best to begin with what you love.

“What can you do with your eyes closed?” Kleinschmidt says. “Is it baking, creating home goods, are you into health and wellness, good with beauty, or do you love to style? What can you do or create, morning, day, and night, because you love to do it?”

Often, this answer will come immediately. Perhaps it is the idea that you have been thinking about for years, the concept that you daydream about. Once you discover (or articulate) what you love, it’s time for the important next step: finding a market.

“Do you see who your audience or market would be?” Kleinschmidt says. “If the answer is yes, it’s time to start brainstorming ideas.”

  1. Create a plan

Having the right idea is a great start, but if you don’t write down your thoughts and truly map out your vision, it will live (and die) in your head.

“When I opened my first business, Muah Makeup and Lash Bar, I had so many notebooks full of ideas,” Kleinschmidt says. “I would sketch out my vision, write down my marketing ideas, and eventually I turned that into a business plan.”

When she was opening her new business, LuxeXII Lifestyle, she remembered awakening at 2am, restless. Instead of fighting insomnia, she used the time to draw out her floor plan on her laptop.

“There is no ‘work schedule’ when you’re an entrepreneur,” Kleinschmidt says. “Allow your ideas to flow, record everything. You never know what golden idea you may be sitting on.”

  1. Let go of fear

Of all the steps to being an entrepreneur, Kleinschmidt considers this to be the most difficult.

“Being afraid of failure or judgment is the number one reason people don’t carry out their dreams,” Kleinschmidt says.

Instead of dwelling on what other people might think about the business, Kleinschmidt encourages people to focus on the business itself.

“Is it on your mind all day, and do you go to sleep thinking about this vision?” Kleinschmidt says. “If the answer is yes, then you owe it to yourself to try. You can’t live your life with regret, just because you care about what other people might think.”

  1. Don’t overshare your dream

Although Kleinschmidt says that people launching new businesses should not fear what other people think, she also cautions against sharing all the details with everyoneespecially before the business is ready.

“In the beginning of my career, I used to tell everyone I knew what was next,” Kleinschmidt says. “But I’ve learned that not everyone will be as excited for you and your project. People can send bad vibes even if they don’t realize they’re doing it.”

Especially in the early development stages, it is important to maintain your excitement and enthusiasm, and to preserve the clarity of your vision. Instead of announcing your plans to everyone, Kleinschmidt recommends telling three trusted allies who will support you through the process.

“And when the time is ready, you can celebrate with anyone who will listen!” Kleinschmidt says.

  1. Be yourself

Your business is a direct reflection of who you are, of your dreams and values. Do not compromise those values when you launch your new brand.

“You need to be honest with yourself, don’t be someone you’re not,” Kleinschmidt says. “There are a ton of people who copy what they see online, but nothing lasts when it’s someone else’s idea.”

You began your entrepreneurial journey with a specific vision. What will lead to success if your commitment to that journey.

“Be you, and do you,” Kleinschmidt says. “Because there is only one of you.”

The Healthcare Incubator Goes Beyond Marketing to Drive Record Growth for Healthcare Practices

Recent global events have pressed the importance of healthcare on everyone. While most dental, cosmetic and other healthcare practitioners understand the financial risks of starting their own practice, few could prepare for the ongoing impact of the pandemic. Many practices find themselves struggling to get ahead while trying to serve patients with limited staff or managing new costs like higher wage demands, additional protective equipment and investing in telemedicine software.

With few other options available, practices turn to marketing agencies for help to acquire more patients. The problem is traditional marketing agencies push services like Pay-Per-Click Advertising and Search Engine Optimization which may result in more webpage traffic but often fails to translate into patients booking appointments and ultimately patients accepting treatment.  In the event that a marketing agency is able to generate potential patients calling, practices often do not have the proper staff or systems in place to handle an influx of patients.  As a result, there is little to no tracking or even return on much of the investment in their healthcare marketing campaign.

Unlike traditional marketing agencies, The Healthcare Incubator was co-founded by engineers Robert Fernandez Bucheli and Apostoli Tsilikas who pivoted into practice management in early 2021. Working as practice manager and treatment coordinator, they received first-hand experience of the challenges practice owners and team members face daily. They analyzed both front desk and clinical systems and created processes to close the gap between traditional marketing services and acquiring high-value patients to achieve rapid practice growth.  From patient acquisition to refining the consultation experience, the founders created templates, frameworks and training to implement their success in any healthcare practice.  In their first practice, Park Avenue LASEK, they increased collections from $80K to $176K in the first 60 days and improved the case acceptance rate to 75%. “The numbers speak for themselves. They implemented a new, easy way for the patients to leave 5-star reviews and it worked so well that the review volume went up by 270%”, states Dr. Emil Chynn.

These frameworks and processes are the foundation for The Healthcare Incubator, a company that works holistically to grow practices utilizing a full suite of services including digital marketing and consulting solutions. By studying the patient’s journey, they were able to identify and overcome constraints to achieve rapid increase in collections, improve case acceptance and scale the healthcare practice team efficiently.

The Healthcare Incubator differentiates itself as a practice growth partner. Uniquely, they partner on a Pay-Per-Performance Marketing model, as opposed to healthcare practices paying monthly retainers with long term contracts for digital marketing and consulting solutions.  The team even goes the length of recruiting qualified on-site or virtual treatment coordinators to convert more new patient phone calls and surveys into cases accepted. Dr. Sharel Sly of Hermann Park Smiles says, “Dental school does not teach you this. The team at The Healthcare Incubator flew out to my location and over-delivered with the training and support to help me build and optimize a hiring and onboarding system to retain my team members.”   Upon hiring, The Healthcare Incubator Team provides training for your staff to ensure your team maximizes case acceptance to avoid losing potential high-value patients. “Marketing is worthless if it does not turn into profit. That is why many are turning to us as we are tracking return-on-investment down to the dollar and ensuring all new patient opportunities are converting to new patients.” says Co-Founder, Apostoli Tsilikas

The Healthcare Incubator system is boiled down to three steps. They first launch customized digital advertising campaigns for your specific market and practice goals to attract high-value patients. Second, they customize PatientEngine.io, a HIPAA compliant lead management software, to capture, nurture, and track conversions on the high-value patients who have submitted a survey. Lastly, your team members meet 1-on-1 with a consultant to ensure all patient opportunities are converting to cases accepted. “Transparency is a core value of our business. Almost every healthcare practice owner has been burned by a digital marketing campaign. With our system, it is clear to see how much you are spending and how many patients converted to avoid that ever repeating again.” states Co-Founder, Robert Fernandez Bucheli.

Growing a healthcare practice in a post-pandemic economy is no easy feat, but the team at The Healthcare Incubator has made it a science with their system and hands-on approach. While the challenges facing healthcare practices increase year after year, healthcare practice owners seeking to not only overcome but grow may find the standard services offered by marketing agencies to be outdated.  Just as patients expect higher and holistic care, healthcare practice owners can expect to receive all-in-one and performance driven services from a partner that ensures their success. Benefits for Businesses of Not Managing Union Dues

One of the most important aspects of running a union is collecting dues because these funds keep the lights on and allow the union to pursue its collective bargaining initiatives. Traditionally, these dues are collected by deductions from member paychecks or paid directly via cash or check to the union. Still, new and innovative payment systems allow unions to manage their dues collection more effectively.

There are significant costs associated with a business managing union dues on its own. Allowing the union to collect these fees will relieve them of this added financial burden. Using traditional payroll methods to deduct union dues can easily lead to accounting errors, so specialized software is required to manage this effectively. For businesses, this can be an added cost with little to no benefit to them, but unions have far more cost-effective and beneficial solutions for their operations. Most unions will see the value in this small additional cost for the added convenience and functionality for them and their members.

Perhaps the most costly aspect of collecting dues payments is the cost of labor to chase down members and encourage them to pay their dues. It can take thousands of hours for admins and business managers to hunt down dues payments, and several systems allow unions to manage this process in a streamlined manner. By allowing unions to handle dues collections through one of these systems rather than doing it themselves, businesses can spare themselves the headache that the typical process entails.

All of this money that businesses can save by allowing unions to collect their own dues can be reallocated to other initiatives that will positively impact both the employer and their employees, such as increased employee benefits. Increasing the budget for employee benefits reflects in the quality of care they will receive, increasing employee satisfaction and happiness. A little bit can go a long way in terms of what you offer your employees, and a show of thanks such as increasing benefits can boost morale unexpectedly well.

Additionally, allowing unions to collect their own dues will ensure that organizations can select a dues selection system explicitly structured for their needs. There are services for unions that would enable them to create custom pages tailored to what they and their members need. After all, unions represent their members’ interests, so no one knows what members need to pay their dues better than the union itself. These customizations can make the experience less frustrating for union members.

One of the benefits of not managing union dues payments in-house is that it increases mobility and convenience for your employees to pay their dues. There are several apps on the market which allow employees to pay their dues from the comfort of their phones or computers. With this, employees no longer have to worry about planning a trip to their local union office to pay their dues. They can submit their payment from anywhere they are at any time they want, making the process significantly more accessible and convenient for the user.

Furthermore, checks and cash are quickly becoming obsolete forms of payment. These days, everyone seems to be conducting their transactions using debit and credit cards or virtual wallet systems such as Apple Pay, Paypal, and the like. And when it comes to paying bills, a majority of these recurring charges are handled online using credit or debit card information. These new dues collection systems allow employees to pay for their dues with an increased variety of payment methods. Although this flexibility in terms of payment method may seem like just an added convenience, it is more than that. If union members don’t have to worry about how they will have to deliver their payment, there are fewer obstacles in the way of them submitting their payment.

There are some obvious benefits to businesses for them to not manage dues collection on their own. In addition to eliminating the difficulties of dues collection and reducing costs for the company, there are significant benefits for the employees. It’s in the best interest of everyone involved for companies to allow the union to handle these responsibilities using a specialized platform to collect the money from their members.

Scott Heric is the Co-Founder of Unionly. He was born and raised in Seattle. He helped develop sales and account management for Avvo, growing from 30 to 500 people over 7 years. After Avvo, Scott took a Chief of Staff role at Snap Advance, which at the time was part of a company called Snap Mobile Inc. For over 4 years he oversaw development of the product, marketing, sales, and account management, leading to the company being the leading digital fundraising platform in higher education. Having worked on the concept for Unionly for over 3 years and after being acquired in January of 2020, Scott began to really think about making Unionly a reality and in April of 2020, that dream came true.

How to Reduce Your Mortgage Costs by Reducing Origination Charges

Savvy home buyers seeking a mortgage know that they need to shop around. They compare the interest rates offered by a variety of banks, brokers, or other lenders, as well as other terms that contribute to the total mortgage package.

One component of a mortgage package that can contribute significantly to a borrower’s costs is known as origination charges. The Consumer Finance Protection Bureau (CFPB) defines origination charges as “upfront fees” charged by the lender and advises home buyers to “make sure to compare the origination charges” when comparing loan estimates. While comparing origination charges may seem like a simple step for borrowers to take, it can be confusing when it is not fully understood.

Origination charges represent a collection of fees that can include application fees, underwriting fees, processing fees, verification fees, and rate-lock fees. The way in which these fees are represented on a loan estimate is left to the discretion of the lender.

For example, Lender X can decide to list a charge of $1,195 as an “orientation fee,” while Lender Y lists a charge of $1,195 as the combined total for an “origination fee” and an “underwriting fee,” while Lender Z lists a charge of $1,195 for only an “underwriting fee.”

Provided that the loan’s “origination points” are disclosed as a separate line on the loan estimate, lenders itemize their origination charges however they choose. They may list a single origination charge or split it up into an application fee, processing fee, underwriting fee, or any combination thereof. The lack of standardization makes it difficult for borrowers to compare mortgage loan estimates in an apples-to-apples way.

Being able to compare these fees is important for borrowers. For example, an origination fee is not the same as origination charges; rather it is one of the many fees that can be included under the umbrella of origination charges. The origination fee covers the expense the lender incurs to originate the loan. It will typically cover the costs of the paperwork required to securitize a loan by validating information like the borrower’s income, employment status, credit, and deposits. In order to keep a potential borrower’s business, lenders are often willing to negotiate on origination fees. Borrowers are less empowered to negotiate if they do not know what the origination fees are.

The practice by lenders of listing origination charges throughout various sections of their loan estimate document also complicates the process. If all the fees were contained in one section of the estimate, getting to the total would be easy and comparing packages from different lenders would be a breeze. But the location for itemization is not standard, making it challenging, if not impossible, for borrowers to get to the total that matters.

Regulations addressing the issue do not seem to help the home buyer. Regulation Z, which is part of the Truth in Lending Act that was passed in 1968, establishes that “the itemization of the amount financed,” which the law requires, “will contain items, such as origination fees or points, that also must be disclosed as part of the good faith estimates of settlement costs” required by the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA). However, Regulation Z goes on to say that “(c)reditors furnishing the RESPA good faith estimates need not give consumers any itemization of the amount financed.” If creditors furnishing loan estimates need not give itemization, the task of comparing estimates becomes exponentially more difficult.

The concept of APR, which stands for Annual Percent Rate, has been used for close to a quarter-century as a reliable measure to compare between lenders. Because the APR includes not only the interest rate but also the fees that borrowers must pay to get a loan, it represents a broader measure of the cost of borrowing money. Simply speaking, APR is the cost of obtaining a mortgage added to the interest rate.

“APR was invented to make it easier to compare loan offers across lenders,” explains Yatin Karnik, Founder and CEO of Confer Inc. “But with the complications associated with a mortgage transaction coupled with the lack of effective regulation verifying if lenders

are consistently calculating APR, borrowers are left with nowhere to seek guidance. This is where the mortgage industry, including banks, lenders, brokers, regulators, and non-profit advocacy groups, has missed the boat, in my humble opinion.”

Confer Inc. is an innovative mortgage platform powered by artificial intelligence and continuous machine learning that helps home buyers by customizing a mortgage so that it is financially beneficial to the borrower. The Confer app makes it easier for borrowers to compare the various costs associated with mortgages and, ultimately, save money. It launches on April 1, 2022.

Yatin highlights the credit report fee, which is a cost commonly associated with obtaining a mortgage, as another example of a cost that should be closely scrutinized.

“The credit report fee charged by a lender typically will be somewhere between $10 to $100 for each person on a credit report,” Yatin says. However, according to law a credit reporting company cannot charge more than $13.50 for the report. Yatin continues, “For a typical household with both spouses on the mortgage loan, borrowers can expect to pay up to $200, yet they could obtain the reports for $27 from the reporting company. How is it still fair for a lender to charge whatever they wish?”

Clearly, the process of finding the best mortgage package can be confusing, even for a savvy home buyer. The best practices encouraged by the CFPB advise all home buyers to compare loan estimates before making a final decision on a mortgage. While that can be challenging for all of the reasons that have already been presented, there are tools such as the Confer app that can help. Until lenders begin to provide the utmost clarity on what they are charging for mortgages, home buyers would be wise to take advantage of those tools.
