Entrepreneurship and human health have always been intertwined for Sam Tejada. When he was 19 years old, Sam started his first business, Rescue-101, and grew it into a sought-after training program for first aid, CPR, and lifeguard training for the American Red Cross in South Florida.
Later, while serving as a firefighter/paramedic for the City of Oakland Park Fire Rescue, Sam also worked part-time as a phlebotomist with Cenegenics, a leading company that pioneered hormone replacement therapy in the US.
While working there, he had the opportunity to meet some of the wealthiest people on the globe by doing house calls. Clients would spend a lot of time and money testing different preventative medicines. Sam noticed that they kept bringing up the benefits of Nutrient IV Therapy in the discussion. After talking with them more about this new approach, Sam realized there was an opportunity to make IV therapy more accessible for the average person in the US.
As a first step, Sam learned as much about the functional medicine space as possible. He received mentorship from Dr. Robert D. Willix, a board-certified cardiac surgeon recognized as a preventive medicine leader and a founding father of age management medicine. Through Dr. Willix, Sam learned firsthand the positive effects of vitamin IV therapy. “I realized the immense potential of the treatment and that I could honestly do what other companies were doing at the time, but better,” Sam states.
With five-hundred dollars out of his back pocket, Sam founded Liquivida, and the first Liquivida Lounge was born in 2013 inside a busy medspa in Coconut Creek, FL.
Offering only vitamin IV therapy in the beginning, Liquivida has now grown to provide an array of preventative services like anti-aging, hormone replacement, clinical weight loss, sexual wellness, aesthetics, skincare, and regenerative medicine treatments.
Liquivida has also evolved into a national franchise with a world-class training program that allows its franchisees to provide the same modern treatments for their clients.
To this date, they have over 20 locations across the U.S. They have become one of the fastest-growing wellness franchises in the country.
Cutting-Edge Wellness Backed Up by Data
Cutting-edge wellness technologies often have to navigate the space competing against other services known for being “trendy” without a solid theoretical backup or rigorously tested procedures. These fads are not at all what Liquivida is from the beginning.
Sam quickly found a chance and developed a sense of responsibility for being the provider who gets to educate people on new and effective ways to improve their quality of life.
“Being a pioneer in offering wellness alternatives comes with challenges, but it is also an opportunity to educate people and establish yourself as an authority,” he explains.
“When we started, most of our marketing efforts were geared towards educating the public. We showed how our treatments work and how we back up our offer with research and sound practices.”
Liquivida has set itself apart from other health and wellness franchises by offering treatments with a clinical approach based on abundant data from its patients. “Before offering any solution, we do a blood analysis of more than 80 parameters that let us know what the best solution for every client is,” Sam states.
He explains: “ General practitioners and many medical clinics run tests on their patients only once they start to show symptoms.”
“We have a preventive approach to wellness. Our in-depth analysis lets us suggest a plan to optimize the biochemistry of our patient’s bodies before any unbalance becomes a problem.”
Sam’s proactive approach to health, business, and life has been key in developing Liquivida to what it is known for today. As the health and wellness space continues to evolve, we expect to see Sam and Liquivida stay proactively ahead of the curve —not only in the franchise world but also in the medical distribution side of the business.
