Rising from the vibrant musical scene of the Hudson Valley, Roseann Sureda is quickly solidifying her place as one of the most exciting and genre-defying vocalists of her generation. With six nominations from the prestigious Red Carpet Awards in the Netherlands set for September 2025, Sureda is being recognized not only for her distinctive voice and powerful songwriting but for her relentless dedication to authenticity and creative exploration.
Her sound—a seamless fusion of jazz, soul, and heartfelt storytelling—has captured audiences across the globe, while her journey has inspired countless others to chase their passion no matter the obstacles. For Sureda, artistry has always been about evolution and emotional connection.
“I have my own unique sound that comes from an organic place,” she explains. “Working to perfect and hone my gift, I explore my vocal capabilities as a multi-genre artist. My intention is to continue to strengthen my artistry… tapping into the unlimited possibilities that this incredible art form can provide me.”
Her international recognition stems from a body of work that’s as vulnerable as it is versatile. From her acclaimed debut album It’s Called Love to her chart-topping single Hanging On For Love, Roseann’s music exudes purpose and passion.
But her journey hasn’t always been easy. A life-altering accident once left her wheelchair-bound, and it was during this time that the seeds for her debut album were planted. “It was both exhilarating and challenging,” she reflects. “I was handed a guitar and asked to find a new sound with an open chord. As I played, I started hearing melodies and lyrics in my head… it ignited my creative spirit.”

Sureda’s willingness to rise through adversity and channel her experiences into compelling music has made her a standout. Her collaborative efforts with industry veterans such as Pete Levin and Scott Petito have helped refine her sound while maintaining her originality. “I am not a conventional artist,” she shares. “I often produce on the spot, expressing my vision… I am forever grateful for their expertise, friendship, and encouragement.”
With four new projects in the works and a global tour planned for 2025, fans can expect a dynamic blend of new material, performances, and music videos that continue to stretch the boundaries of genre and style.
In this exclusive Q&A, Roseann Sureda opens up about career milestones, creative inspirations, and the global recognition that’s putting her on the map:
Your performance at The Metropolitan Room is often described as a turning point in your career. What made that moment so significant for you as an artist?
This was my first NYC Debut show at the prestigious Metropolitan Room.
I felt it was a pivotal performance that opened many doors, mostly due to my amazing musicians, family, friends and audience embracing my artistry and musical passion.
Your debut album “It’s Called Love” received international acclaim and climbed several indie charts. What was your creative process like while putting that project together?
It was both exhilarating and challenging. I was wheelchair bound, recovering from a horrendous accident when a friend invited me to attend a musical workshop. I was handed a guitar and asked to find a new sound with an open cord. As I played, I started hearing melodies and lyrics in my head giving me hope and inspiration. It ignited my creative spirit, not only musically but with a vision for a video as well and “it’s called love” was born.
You’ve collaborated with a wide range of legendary musicians. What have those experiences taught you about your artistry and growth?
My collaborations have been wonderful! Gleaning off each other and growing through many learning curves. I have become a stronger musician and producer. I am truly blessed to work with my dream team, the legendary masters Pete Levin and Scott Petito, who have mentored and guided me through many studio sessions. I am not a conventional artist, I often produce on the spot, expressing my vision to Pete and Scott working on everything that encompasses bringing the music to life. I am forever grateful for their expertise, friendship and encouragement.
Your recent single “Hanging On For Love” has garnered impressive chart positions and international award nominations. What inspired this remake, and what does it mean to you personally?
I had a deadline for a new release and went through my catalog of songs. Pete Levin and I thought this would be a great song to remake. We shortened it to be more radio friendly changing it into a pop ballad. Personally, it was the lyrics resonating my hearts longing. We are so pleased with the results.

You’ve been recognized multiple times by international awards, including your six nominations from The Red Carpet Awards in the Netherlands. How does it feel to be honored on a global stage?
I’m So Thrilled! It is just amazing that my music is reaching so many people, and the music speaks to them. I’m Excited to continue my musical journey, and passion for multi genre songwriting/recording/performing.
Your patriotic anthem “American Baby” has become a Hudson Valley favorite. What message were you hoping to convey when you co-wrote and recorded that track?
We were hoping to bring people together through celebration and music, as we appreciate the beauty of working toward unity.
You’re known for blending jazz, soul, and storytelling into your music. How would you describe your signature sound, and how has it evolved over the years?
Though I admire many artists, I have my own unique sound that comes from an organic place. Working to perfect and hone my gift, I explore my vocal capabilities as a multi-genre artist. My intention is to continue to strengthen my artistry, building and improving my voice, writing skills, expanding my knowledge of production, and tapping into the unlimited possibilities that this incredible art form can provide me.
With four new projects and a 2025 tour in the works, what can fans look forward to next from Roseann Sureda?
