In a world where more and more stars are rising across social media platforms and dictating their financial freedom on their terms, it can be challenging to find genuinely talented content creators who stand out among the crowd. One such influencer who is carving an exponentially growing presence in this space is Twitch streamer Emerome. As the first live streamer to work with a major Canadian bank, CIBC, she has now been featured on the front page of Twitch and has continued the honor for the past five months straight. Armed with her bubbly personality, unique sense of humor, and steadfast dedication to the world of content creation, Emerome is one of the most prominent live streamers in this highly competitive and coveted field of interactive entertainment.
As a child, Emerome was consistently revered for her magnetic personality and outgoing nature, often enjoying playing games like Assassin’s Creed and narrating her adventures for her little sister, who would watch and listen attentively. Ironically, she had no idea she was laying the groundwork for her future career. While studying for her LSAT tests for law school, she would take breaks to return to her favorite pastime, playing Assassin’s Creed. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, she found herself recalling some advice from her friend and well-known YouTuber, sWooZie. While at SXSW in 2016, sWooZie suggested Emerome would be really good at streaming. She started a YouTube channel that grew to 20K subscribers, but it wasn’t until May 2020 that she put her friend’s words into action and decided to tackle live streaming.
Growing a substantial audience on Twitch often takes a lot of time and is an endeavor many fail to realize. Emerome has indeed blasted that narrative to pieces, as one of the primary attributes that sets her apart is the rapid growth of her live streams on Twitch. Within what felt like the blink of an eye, the energetic Emerome had amassed a loyal horde of followers, gaining a core audience obsessed with her content. She took the bold step of pausing her law school pursuits aside and soon garnered partnerships with major brands like Sephora, HyperX, Elgato, Ubisoft, Aussie, and DTS (the sound company behind IMAX audio). DTS, in particular, has been proud to work with Emerome on promotions from a Phillips home theatre system to a series of livestream podcasts focused on women in technology.
Endorsing numerous brands, including Hellofresh, for several months this year has only continued solidifying Emerome’s influence as a content creator. While building herself into a sought-after talent has felt like a rapid rise over recent years, her current stature did not come easy, and she has had to work hard refining her comedic style and learning to let loose on camera. At this point, however, it’s safe to say that Emerome’s hard work and dedication have paid off tenfold as she only continues to grow in popularity. On October 11th, Emerome spoke at an event for Amazon and Twitch, and her unique voice and talent are only sure to grow in the future.
