Duran Sherzoy: From Dental Practice to QR-Code Inspired Apparel

Entrepreneurship is an ever-evolving journey, which is evident in the stories of entrepreneurs like Duran Sherzoy, who has entered many ventures and shown there is never only one true path to success. 

Duran Sherzoy, the son of Roshana Sherzoy, DDS, is a business mogul in the making. He entered the same industry as his mother, who owns one of the most successful dental practices in New Jersey. Today, Duran is starting his own business, MrGoodLiffee Marketing, an e-commerce company selling merchandise with strategic QR codes. While unheard of, the idea has been catching up as Sherzoy’s business takes more extraordinary leaps and bounds into the future of business. 

Sherzoy attended Bergen Tech in Paramus, New Jersey, where he studied General Contracting. In 2013, he entered Lincoln Tech to study Automotive Technology. After picking up his dental radiology license in 2015, Duran started working with his mom at her practice, Englewood Dentistry.

Growing up, Duran Sherzoy drew inspiration from his relationship with his mother, Roshana, who runs Englewood Dentistry at 334 Grand Avenue, Englewood, New Jersey. “She taught me all that I know and much more,” explains Duran. “That is how I am able to manage this company with integrity.” Back in 2014, Sherzoy started working with his mother at the practice on a full-time basis. In the early days, he did not understand much about dentistry. He had little background in dentistry practice management, or business administration. But Duran picked up rather quickly, showing that he had the same knack for entrepreneurship and management as his mother. 

Five years after serving the community through Englewood Dentistry, Duran Sherzoy had become a master at all aspects of the clinic’s operations. “I learned employee care, customer care, inventory storage, scheduling, dental assisting, dental radiology, marketing, and more,” Sherzoy shares. But what stuck with Duran was the dedication to community service, as he saw business not only as a way to grow personal agendas and help those around him. “We do know how to help people because we understand people from many points of view,” he adds.

When coming up with a strategy to gather more Google reviews for the practice, Duran Sherzoy started tinkering around with QR codes. He learned how to design and program them to do various web-based and physical-based tasks, using them to the practice’s advantage. This led him to the idea that started MrGoodLiffee Marketing. The apparel business uses strategic QR codes on merchandise to lead people to a business page or Instagram account. The idea has stuck quite quickly as people have started engaging in this approach to promote brands. 

Today, Duran puts most of his efforts into growing MrGoodLiffee Marketing. Besides these two commitments, Sherzoy is also a real estate agent who picked up his New Jersey Real Estate license in 2014. With all the experiences he has accumulated in both industries, Sherzoy is more equipped with ideas and lessons that he is now applying in his current ventures.

Duran hopes to grow MrGoodLiffee Marketing into a massive brand that will help thousands more businesses in the country.
