Linden Tyson: Upcoming Star Pushing for Global Relevance

Music talents are not hard to come by, especially in a talent-driven industry like the American music industry. However, it is important to point out that there exists a difference between talent and uniqueness. While anyone may possess the ability to create, write, and perform sweet melodies, it takes more than talent to not identify with the crowd and stand out. Linden Tyson gets all the credits he gets today, not because of his talent but also because of his uniqueness.

Linden is originally from Brooklyn and is now residing in Gwinnett County, Georgia. Much can be said about Linden Tyson and his artistry. In short, his style is a unique blend of modern trap, boom-bap, and 90’s R&B, with a lyricism that has been described as honest and easily memorable. Since 2017, Linden has released a total of 2 EPs (“F L Y” 2017) (DISTRACTIONS 2020) and a strand of 9 singles, all of which he has made ENTIRELY by himself, including his cover art. After a few moments of listening, it’s safe to say that anyone could agree that Linden Tyson is becoming one of the most distinctive artists of this generation. If you need reassurance, just press “play.”

Although music is universal and transcends different demographics, certain individual preferences continue to determine how the fans react to and listen to music. For Tyson, while he wants to achieve global listening, his music is specifically for Hip hop & R&B fans of ALL ages.

“I’m VERY self-made. I do all the graphic designing for my cover art and the recording & production of all my songs and projects. My vocals & production are also very distinctive from other artists, making my music easily identifiable when you listen to it.”

Tyson attributes his motivation to his childhood love for music, which according to him, “never went away.” He recalled how he used to make beats in class with pencils while his friends and classmates try to freestyle them. “I also remember walking around and beatboxing a lot as a kid and seeing what different sounds I can come up with. Being a musician has always been my dream, so I’ve chosen to pursue that.

For a 25-year-old, Tyson believes he has overachieved (in comparison with his personal goals). However, in the next five years —by the time he is 30— he sees himself doing more of the things he loves and letting his friends, family, and loved ones benefit from that. He hopes he would contribute millions of dollars to the less privileged and underserved via his platform. Tyson aims for the Grammys and hopes to be multiple winners on the musical front, including several other notable music awards and hopefully become a father and husband.

Tyson remains committed to his calling and his music business, and as he tries to cement a permanent spot in the mainstream music industry, he is also not neglecting his role to the people who look up to him. “I hope that my music can bring people together. That it can prevent suicidal thoughts and attempts and help people get through life. I also hope that it would encourage people to be the best, TRUEST version of themselves because life is too short of wanting to be someone else.” He concludes.
