Jordann Dwayne: Houston’s Emerging Alt-Rock Sensation

By: PR Fueled

Born and raised in Houston, Texas, Jordann Dwayne’s story is one of resilience, passion, and evolution. Growing up in a single-parent household, music was always around him. The sounds of Christian hymns and smooth R&B melodies filled his home and sparked his interest in music from a young age. “I’ve always been surrounded by music—it was my escape, my way to feel free,” Dwayne recalls.

At just five years old, Jordann found himself singing in his local church choir. This was the first real step in a musical journey that would soon take him far beyond those early performances. But Jordann wasn’t content with just singing—he wanted to fully understand music. By the time he was in grade school, he had joined the school band, where he had honed his instrumental skills. “Being in the band opened my eyes. It wasn’t just about singing anymore; it was about the entire sound and how everything worked together.”

Finding His Sound: A Scorpion in A Roses

2017 marked a turning point in Jordann’s career when he released A Scorpion in A Roses. The project wasn’t just about making music—it was a personal statement. The EP hit thousands of streams. For Jordann, that moment was surreal. “I remember thinking, ‘Wow, people are really listening to this.’ It was huge. It showed me that what I was doing mattered.”

Pushing the Limits with Punk Rock

Jordann has never been one to stay in one lane musically. In 2021, he decided to explore punk rock, a bold move that paid off. His single Revival gained significant recognition, followed by We the People, which further showcased his ability to explore new genres successfully. “I’ve always been drawn to different genres,” Jordann explains. “Punk rock let me express a different side of myself. It was raw, it was real, and it connected with people.”

The Jessika Thrash Project and Industry Recognition

In 2024, Jordann released Jessika Thrash, a project that racked up thousands of streams. This project wasn’t just a musical experiment; it was a personal triumph. “Jessika Thrash is a part of me,” he shares. “It’s about embracing all the messy, complicated emotions and turning them into something powerful.” The success of the project earned him recognition from his peers, which is a big deal for any artist. “That recognition means a lot. It shows that the work I’ve been putting in is paying off,” he says.

A Rapid Rise with From the Start

And if 2024 wasn’t already big enough, Jordann’s latest single, From the Start, is quickly becoming a fan favorite. The track blends soulful melodies with an alt-rock edge. “This song is really special to me,” Jordann says. “It’s about beginnings—personal ones, artistic ones—and the fact that people are connecting with it means everything.”
