From Italy to Nashville: The Rise of Mikol Frachey

In Saint Vincent, a charming, tucked-away town in Northern Italy, most people wouldn’t associate the rolling hills and stone streets with the sounds of country music. But that’s exactly where Mikol Frachey, a singer-songwriter with boundless ambition, began her journey. Growing up in a place where her chosen genre was nearly unheard of, Mikol found herself dreaming of big stages and wide-open audiences.

“Saint Vincent will always be home, but I knew my music needed to reach far beyond its borders,” Mikol shares. And reach it did—starting with an incredible feat. Right after high school, she became the first Italian artist to earn recognition in the U.S. for her country music—a rare and commendable achievement for someone from a region where mandolins outnumber cowboy boots.

Turning Challenges into Triumphs

Life hasn’t always been easy for Mikol. At just 23, she received a diagnosis of fibromyalgia, a chronic condition that often brings persistent pain and fatigue. It could have ended her career before it truly began. But for Mikol, giving up was never an option.

“When I got the diagnosis, it was like a storm rolling in,” she admits. “But storms pass, and I knew I had to keep going, even if it meant learning to dance in the rain.”

This determination was evident in her second album, Untypical, released in 2021. The title alone hinted at her mindset—a refusal to fit into molds or give in to limitations. The album struck a chord, becoming one of Italy’s streamed records. It was a testament to her grit and unique sound, drawing listeners in with stories that resonated far and wide.

The Road Beyond Italy: An International Tour

2024 marked a new chapter as Mikol embarked on her first international tour. It started at the Buckle & Boots Festival in Manchester alongside established artists like Maggie Baugh and Canaan Cox. “Playing in Europe was amazing, but stepping into the U.S. was like coming home to the music that raised me,” Mikol reflects.

Her solo performances, armed with only her guitar and a voice full of soul, have captivated audiences from Houston to Nashville. “Standing on stage, with just me and my guitar, it’s intimate. It’s raw. And I think that’s what people connect to,” she says.

Stories To Tell: A Reflection of a Fighter

Mikol’s latest EP, Stories To Tell, produced with Delma Jag Records, encapsulates her journey. It’s a collection that weaves her battles and triumphs into melodies and lyrics. “This EP isn’t just music—it’s my story, my scars, and my victories,” she explains. Listeners find her honesty refreshing, a reminder that perseverance is powerful.

Inspired by the Greats

Her influences read like a who’s who of music’s most authentic voices: Bruce Springsteen, Miley Cyrus, Miranda Lambert, Carrie Underwood, and Ashley McBryde. “They’ve all shown me that true storytelling means being unafraid to show your heart, no matter how messy it is,” Mikol says. And it’s that very essence that she brings to her music.

A Journey That Inspires

Mikol Frachey’s rise from a little-known Italian town to international stages proves that dreams don’t have borders. “Music has been my compass,” she says. “No matter where or what I’m facing, it always points me in the right direction.”

With her music available on all streaming platforms and new chapters still to be written, Mikol Frachey isn’t just a country artist—she’s a symbol of relentless passion and the belief that even the biggest dreams can come true, no matter where they start.
