A famous adage says that dance is the language of the soul and a great dancer is exceptional not only because of their technique but also because of their passion for the art. This saying proves true for Diana Sorokova, whose passion for dancing mashed with discipline and determination has been evident since she was seven years old.
Born and raised in Slovakia, Diana Sorokova is a personal trainer and ballerina who started her journey at seven. Though young, Diana found her love for dancing and movement and started attending gymnastics school and the local ballet. After elementary school, Diana went to a high school that specialized in classical ballet. Her tenacity did not go unnoticed. In her second-year in high school, she was the only student in her class offered a Ballet company position at the Opera House in Kosice, Slovakia, where she danced in all the ballet exhibitions.
After graduation, Diana remained focused and took the next big step towards actualizing her dreams as a ballerina. She prepared for college and auditioned for the Royal Conservatoire in the UK to continue her studies in modern ballet. Her audition was so impressive that she was accepted into the second-year program at the school. While still mastering her craft in college, she got offered a job at the Premiere Contemporary Dance Company based in Mexico City. The company was eager for her to start right away, so Diana sped up her graduation and relocated to Mexico.
As she traveled from city to city performing for the company, Diana started her fitness journey because she noted that her movements while performing contemporary were weak. To build strength, she started strength training going from pilates, yoga and weight lifting. Her hard work paid off as the practice changed her body movements, making her faster, lighter, more flexible with better balance, and ultimately improved her overall performance.
After a while, Diana moved to New York and performed for dancing companies, shows and projects. At this time, fitness has become so ingrained in her daily life as she studied fitness and nutrition. Taking another step forward, Diana Sorokova got her certification as a personal trainer and started working with clients personally to help them transform their lives.
As her journey progressed, Diana specialized in Fitness Nutrition and Orthopedic Exercises, working with people who have had some injuries. She curated her training style, which she aptly named Ballerina Strong. One unique characteristic of Ballerina Strong is that the company focuses on strength and flexibility training with an added artistic touch. The training is adapted for all women between the age of 25-40 who are not necessarily dancers. The training customized to each client’s needs helps to build a strong, feminine and graceful body.
Diana Sorokova remains dedicated to helping women transform their lives and effect long-lasting changes in their fitness journey, daily habits, improve their mood and confidence while recording high achievements. She plans to keep Ballerina Strong operating for a long time by expanding the brand to other countries while building new techniques.
