Oscar Stone didn’t exactly want to follow in his parent’s footsteps. Most of us don’t, but once he had a serious conversation with his father, he realized his parents were on to something. Stone got into the family business at the ripe age of 20, and never looked back.

Oscar Stone, a Gemologist accredited by the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) is a proud Latino-American who specializes in customized jewelry. He understands gems, but perhaps more importantly, diamonds. His bespoke jewelry is next-level. He helps his clients create high-end pieces that speak to who they are. Stone helps design everything from Grillz to customized rings, pendants, and more.

It’s the customization of Oscar Stone’s jewelry that makes his business unique. That, and the fact that it’s all in-house. He has kept his family’s tradition of working on pieces together, and near the home. This way, as Stone gets to know his clients, his clients get to know him. It’s that trust that keeps his customers coming back, and gets new ones interested. Stone understands this relationship, “Truly learn [how] to sell your product or service. Not only do you need to understand the tangible product but you need to understand the culture of the industry.” He said.

Oscar Stone’s deep understanding of the jewelry business is practically innate. His parents immigrated to the United States in the 1980s. It was then that they started the family business. As Stone grew up, he was immersed in the jewelry business, learning the ins and outs as a young child. By the time he was ready to pursue his career–he was equipped with the passion and intuition needed to understand his customers.

Oscar Stone is truly in it for the people. Of course, financial freedom is a goal too, but he wants monetary success so he can have personal success. To him, personal success “is being able to help those less fortunate [than] you.” He says. He looks forward to someday pursuing philanthropy, but first, he needs to continue his focus on his business. He’s opening another large store soon, and he’s doing it as an honest businessman–not something all jewelers can claim.
