Michael A. Blunt: The corporate America dropout empowering a generation of entrepreneurs with Business Mindset Collective

In a world that often champions the “hustle harder” ethos, Michael A. Blunt stands out as a beacon of holistic self-improvement, leaning on science and spirituality to help his students achieve growth in their businesses.

The 40-year-old executive mindset coach has mentored hundreds of students inside his Business Mindset Collective program, helping executives, entrepreneurs and busy professionals break through the mental blocks preventing them from reaching their next level of success.

But it wasn’t always this way. While working as a successful marketing executive in New York City, Blunt was secretly battling recurring spells of anxiety and depression. It was a severe panic attack during a meeting with his boss that permanently changed the course of his life.

“By the age of 25, I had everything most people aspire to. I owned a house, had great finances, had an MBA from a top business school, worked on amazing projects and traveled the world. But secretly, I was struggling with high levels of stress, anxiety, burnout and depression,” says Blunt.

“Everything came to a head when I had a severe panic attack at work and ended up being taken to hospital in an ambulance. I remember lying in that hospital bed and the doctor telling me that all of the physical ailments that I was struggling with originated in my mind,” he adds.

“This experience set me on a decade-long journey of trying to understand my mind and heal myself. I didn’t believe my doctor at first, but the profound changes I’ve experienced in my life are proof that he was right. I realized that there are so many people who, like me, use busyness as a badge of honor, accept stress and deep unfulfillment in their lives, and just cannot find a way out.”

Studying under the guidance of top teachers, including Dr. Joe Dispenza, Dr. Bruce Lipton, Vishen Lakhiani and Tony Robbins, Blunt came upon a startling realization: our mindset shapes our reality and experience of life.

“So many of us make decisions about our lives based on how we feel about ourselves. This mindset is formed by past experiences we had in our childhood, romantic relationships, or our jobs. When we struggle with low self-esteem, we hold ourselves back from chasing opportunities or dreams that are within our reach,” says Blunt.

Today, Michael specifically focuses on helping entrepreneurs who find themselves adrift and operating from a place of low confidence. In the best-selling book “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People,” Stephen Covey wrote that “mental creation precedes physical creation.” Using this principle, the Business Mindset Collective teaches students that success is 80% mindset and 20% actions. By learning how to master your mind and improve the quality of your thoughts, you can significantly elevate the quality of your creations.

“When you doubt yourself or are too afraid to make mistakes, you operate your business or life from a place of fear, desperation, and survival. Think about the difference if you were making decisions from a place of survival compared to someone who is confident in their abilities. You will automatically back yourself, take setbacks in your stride, and take risks on big goals or opportunities where others wouldn’t,” Blunt says.

The Business Mindset Collective is an annual journey that uses a mixture of science and spirituality to help students create lasting transformation in their businesses. These two frameworks, the b-TFA™ Reprogramming Model and the C3 Method™, use neuro-linguistic programming, cognitive behavioral therapy and powerful reprogramming exercises to help students get clarity on the patterns that are holding them back and rewire at the subconscious level.

“This might shock some people, but 95% of who we are is a set of involuntary programs, memorized behaviors and habitual reactions. Our subconscious mind cannot tell the difference between reality and the stories we tell ourselves, so many of us walk around living the same past experiences and traumas over and over again,” says Blunt.

“Our program starts by deprogramming the negative conditioning and stories that stop people from reaching their full potential, and we completely replace them. This might include feelings of low self-worth and limiting beliefs that prevent them from holding successful relationships, pursuing great business opportunities, or being able to forgive and heal from past disappointments,” he adds.

“Once you’ve gained clarity on these limiting beliefs and patterns, we can begin programming a new self image that puts you in the driver seat of your life. You then start to show up differently in your life and act from a place that is empowered. This allows you to experience those 10x shifts in your business reality.”

Michael says many of his students have seen huge leaps in their professional and personal lives while inside Business Mindset Collective and that he himself has been able to overcome challenges in his childhood that he says saw him racing toward an early grave.

“I was raised by a single mother who had me as a teenager. Not having my father around left me with a deep sense of unworthiness and I found myself developing people-pleasing tendencies to fill that void. I held onto toxic relationships and burnt out at work because I felt like my efforts were never enough,” he says.

“By forgiving my father and healing myself, I’ve been able to find the courage to create a fulfilling and successful career as an entrepreneur, move to Mexico City and build an inspiring new community, and attract a wonderful and healthy relationship.”

A major cornerstone of Business Mindset Collective is community and accountability. Students are welcomed into an exclusive network of high-growth entrepreneurs who support each other and share professional opportunities. On monthly coaching calls, students work through different parts of their lives, including money, health, community, and passion. A mindset coach also keeps participants accountable and helps steer their businesses in the right direction.

As for himself, Blunt only hires and works with people who have undertaken his program.

“This approach has triggered not only a strong sense of trust but extraordinary unity. Students are not just success stories, but integral parts of the Business Mindset Collective community.”

One such student-turned-success story is a testament to the power of Michael’s program. The first student he hired had struggled with low self-worth and confidence, to the point where she initially refused his offer. After retaking Blunt’s “21 Days to Mindset Mastery” course, she eventually joined his team. Six months later, she had transformed her life, building a thriving business that is generating six figures of revenue. The impact of this program on its participants is undeniable.

With so many people turning their backs on corporations to pursue the dream of entrepreneurship, Blunt says it’s more important than ever that we inspect our “hustle harder” culture.

Using the 80/20 principle stating 20% of your efforts should produce 80% of your results, the Business Mindset Collective focuses on quality of attention rather than quantity of work. This starts with the mindset, allowing busy entrepreneurs to achieve more by doing less. By inverterting the prevailing belief about success and focusing on mindset, Blunt says founders will automatically start taking actions which simply follow from their elevated thoughts and emotions.

“Lasting change only happens if we address what’s happening on the deeper, subconscious level. Surrounding yourself with a supportive community, nurturing your physical and mental wellbeing, and identifying your negative programming will enable you to navigate the challenging aspects of entrepreneurship without letting it consume you. This is why the facts of science combined with the how in spiritually are the most effective way to build long lasting business.” he says.

“The science provides that by improving your beliefs, you’ll experience new feelings and take different actions which create an entire new reality for yourself. It’s that simple and you can start making these changes in your life right away. I am living proof that it’s possible.”
