BO MITCHELL – NATIONAL EXPERT IN WORKPLACE SAFETY & SECURITY

Safety is the right of all humans. Governments and organizations continuously improvise their laws and strategies to provide their people with a safe and sure place to live and work at. The World Health Organization (WHO) defines safety as “a state in which people are protected from all significant risks to their health, including physical, mental and social well-being.” attainable through prevention, protection, and preparedness. Safety is essential to human life and well-being. It is an essential element of strong economies and thriving societies. Safety underpins human activity and development across all sectors. A commitment to safety improves economic outcomes and enhances social stability and cohesion. It reduces costs, improves productivity, attracts investment, and protects reputations. A culture of safety creates confidence, supports innovation, and drives continual improvement. A lack of safety has devastating consequences for individuals, families, businesses, and communities.
