Do you need help on a project, advice for a challenge you are facing, or even just a couple more free hours in your day? Well, AI has you covered.
AI (artificial intelligence) is quickly becoming a useful resource to help us navigate life. From academics to careers, personal to professional – AI technology is constantly evolving just as we do. Using GenAI (generative artificial intelligence) as a resource can help you be more productive and creative, can aid in fostering better understanding and unity in the workplace, and can actually enhance better human connections.
AI technology may not be as inhuman as we think.
AI Can Promote Productivity:
AI is designed to think like we do. It uses algorithms to mimic human intelligence and reasoning; becoming a tool that can help us complete many pesky, daily tasks. Without AI, the possibility of spending hours researching a topic for a project or finding a recommendation for a lesson plan would become a reality. AI can save all that time and instead curate exactly what you need when you need it in mere seconds.
AI opens up both our professional and personal time by optimizing our productivity through the removal of miniscule tasks. Research shows that AI has boosted productivity in the workplace by 7% over a 10-year period. It can allow people to feel more accomplished and get more done, which ultimately benefits any organization.
Technological leaders have assisted us by easing the integration of AI and showcasing the advancements of the digital age. Why would we not want to capitalize on that? Having more time in your day also can reignite passion for work and promote creativity. Being more creative at work and in your personal life has many benefits. It contributes to a sense of purpose and eases stress and anxiety. This also can contribute to you feeling more connected with yourself and the people around you. Embracing creativity can offer a new outlook on life and inspire you to try new things. GenAI ultimately can help take away the pain of those boring, mundane tasks and give you the chance to grow and evolve with whatever goal you are working towards.
Oftentimes, our workdays feel jaded and we procrastinate for a variety of reasons: a creative block, lack of access to data information, or simply just not knowing how to complete the task at hand. AI has the capability to aid you in removing those pesky productivity blocks. By training the AI on company information, the technology can show you how to resolve these blockades and company related issues more efficiently.
AI Can Bring People in the Workplace Together:
As a society, we find ourselves more and more detached from one another and the things happening around us. Wars rage on, poverty strikes without discrimination, and the world yearns for a time where equity is not a ridiculous request.
It is naive to believe that society stays stagnant as technology advances. Thus, it is imperative we maneuver this new digital age to understand the intersectionality between technology and social interaction. AI is reshaping the way we engage with one another but that doesn’t have to be a bad thing. Social media, dating apps, friendship networks, and so many popular applications downloaded on our devices allow us to interact with people – no matter where in the world.
I, myself, spend much of my time abroad – often separated from my loved ones. Predating our advancing technology, I would have struggled to communicate with them while we were apart. However, thanks to messaging applications and social media, I can stay up to date with the ones I love, regardless of where I am.
AI has a greater power than we like to admit. According to a recent report by Goldman Sachs, roughly 300 million full-time jobs today could be done by applications powered by AI technology. However, there’s a reason companies haven’t succumbed to mass layoffs: human interaction.
AI is capable of optimizing our personal relationships, not replacing them. The power of humanity simply cannot be superseded by technology, no matter how advanced it becomes. Nevertheless, AI has the ability to strengthen these human engagements through a multitude of ways.
Forming healthy relationships in the workplace may not be listed under your job description, but it is important for your social life. 51% of all workers say they have a best friend at their job, and the number is even higher for Gen Z employees. AI helps take on monotonous tasks, it can give you more time to look around you, meet and collaborate with your coworkers, increase the chance of you connecting. Having these interpersonal relationships within the workplace boosts morale and retention. This is needed for any successful business, and therefore should be encouraged. Productivity, creativity and collaboration all come full circle and rely on the amount of time in your day. No one has more time, it is about how you use yours. AI can make your daily routines a little easier.
AI Can Fosters Personal Connection:
Studies show that the average person spends more than 81,000 hours at work in their lifetime. That is approximately 9 full years of seven day weeks and over 38 years in workdays. If you could get back even a fraction of that time, why wouldn’t you take the opportunity? AI’s ability to return your time could allow you to explore new things, pursue personal goals, tend to your friends and family, even just catch up on your favorite shows.
Additionally, AI can help in conflict resolution should it appear in the office. Workplaces are diversifying everyday and with that comes potential conflict. By training your AI system to understand company relations and employee personalities, you could receive resolution methods that will effectively minimize conflict in the office.
