Atlanta’s underground hip-hop scene has long been a hub for raw talent, and now, one of its most unique voices is set to take center stage. Aanubis, an Atlanta-based hip-hop artist, has officially signed with Bentley Records after completing the label’s renowned artist development program. Known for his dark sound that blends unusual insights with the gritty realities of street life, Aanubis is poised to deliver a new project that will showcase his evolution as an artist.

Having carved a path through Atlanta’s underground scene since 2012, Aanubis brings a fresh yet familiar energy that speaks to both the streets and to those with an interest in the esoteric. Exposed to gang culture and the struggles of poverty, music became his outlet for expression. “I grew up seeing a lot of things that people don’t talk about,” Aanubis reflects. “Music was the only way I could make sense of it all. It’s how I deal with everything I’ve been through.”

Before signing with Bentley Records, Aanubis made his mark on the underground circuit, contributing to mix tapes like Trouble and Coast2Coast. He also performed live at several coast-to-coast showcases, gaining recognition from notable figures in the industry. His first single, which debuted on Kiss 104.1, helped him build a local following and establish his name in Atlanta’s music scene. Now, with Bentley Records backing him, his sights are set on national and an international audience.

What truly sets Aanubis apart from other hip-hop artists is his ability to merge two seemingly contrasting worlds—Atlanta’s trap culture and his own spirituality, that can go against the grain. “My music is about things most people are afraid to talk about. It’s for those who are searching for answers. It’s not for everybody, but it will affect those who it resonates with,” Aanubis explains. 

Influenced by the likes of DMX, Left Eye, and Timbaland, Aanubis incorporates intricate wordplay and rhythmic patterns that captivate listeners. His style has caught the attention of fans and critics alike, who have credited his ability to balance aggressive instrumentation with thought-provoking lyrics in reviews of his work.
