Jerry J Bobb’s story is one of resilience, ingenuity, and unyielding dedication. Born into a very modest background, Jerry transformed his early challenges into a force that helped drive him towards success. Since his modest upbringing didn’t provide him with access to resources, Jerry knew early on that he would have to work harder and be more strategic to make his dream happen. After years of saving on his own and working in various industries, gaining valuable experience, he was able to open his own restaurant, Super Taters, in 2014. This establishment, which features his authentic, unique, and original recipes, has since become a beloved dining spot in Scott, Louisiana, for a decade.
Innovative Culinary Creations
Super Taters (& More) is renowned for its original stuffed baked potato creations. Jerry, who is not a chef by trade, considers himself a businessman first and then a “culinary artist.” “I’ve trained for years in the finest culinary institutions (a.k.a my mother and grandmother’s kitchen) since I was a little tater,” says Jerry. That hands-on experience helped him develop a menu that showcased an unconventional but innovative “BIG MENU ENERGY” approach to food. What is BIG Menu Energy? Jerry says his menu is inspired by his experiences, his travels, and, most of all… his customers. His menu and his options have grown so BIG that it takes up an entire wall of his restaurant!
The fast-casual-style restaurant also offers diverse dishes, including burgers, wraps, salads, soups, quesadillas, and hot sandwiches, all crafted from Jerry’s creativity and imagination.

Since its inception, Super Taters has garnered significant recognition. Jerry Bobb has been featured in the Marquis “Who’s Who in America” in both 2022 and 2023. The restaurant has been honored as the “Best Restaurant” by the Times of Acadiana and has received the title of “Best Baked Potato” for four straight years. These accolades underscore the quality and popularity of Jerry’s culinary creations.
Jerry also credits his AMAZING support staff, which he refers to as his “backbone,” with being key figures in not only the overall success of the company but also the company’s survival and thriving during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Jerry’s active involvement in the community and his insistence on maintaining high standards in his restaurant reflect his deep-rooted values and dedication to giving back to national organizations like The Special Olympics, FoodNet or reading Dr Seuss to school kids for Read Across America Day or even volunteering to play Santa (or Tater Claus as he calls it) at Christmas for underprivileged kids.
Setting an Example of Ingenuity and Hard Work
Jerry hopes to continue inspiring others to pursue their dreams with the same level of dedication and creativity that has defined his own business and life journey. Success hasn’t changed Jerry because even after a decade of success, he still shows up to work daily side by side with his support staff to maintain high quality and consistency standards.
