Social media has opened many doors for individuals and companies to help them create an audience and make the most of their followings. Viral Content Creator Dan Mace has already taken it upon himself to change the world positively. A curious blend of passion, and ambition, fuels Dan Mace’s busy lifestyle.

South African filmmaker, Dan Mace, has been named Chief Creative Officer for the Beast Philanthropy YouTube channel, a partnership between Mace and American YouTuber, MrBeast. MrBeast, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, is currently the most subscribed YouTuber in the world, with over 129 million subscribers and 210 million subscribers across all his channels on the platform. This represents around 1.8% of the world’s population, an enormous number of people exposed to his content.

MrBeast’s philanthropy channel was created in September 2020 and focuses on raising funds to alleviate hunger, homelessness, and unemployment worldwide. The channel uses the power of social media outreach to help raise funds and awareness for various causes. The Beast Philanthropy channel commits to using 100% of its advertising revenue, brand deals, and merchandise sales for charity.

Mace, already an award-winning film director, YouTuber, and business owner when he met the Beast Philanthropy team. At the end of last year, they asked his creative agency, JOE, to help them make one of their videos in South Africa. The project was a huge success when Beast Philanthropy said they would rebuild an orphanage in Khayelitsha, Cape Town, over the next six months. The latest video from Beast Philanthropy kicks off the mammoth task of renovating 12 houses at the orphanage and committing to providing some financial relief to the organization to help keep their doors open.

Mace was offered the position of Chief Creative Officer of the Philanthropy Channel and jumped at the opportunity as it felt like the perfect fit. He has always aimed to use his voice to inspire his viewers through his unique storytelling style and perspective by affecting social change through the YouTube platform.

The job of Chief Creative Officer will be challenging, as Mace and his production team will reshape the channel’s look and feel while keeping it familiar to the audience. Mace said that “it’s about finding the perfect balance between high retention/views and making the content beautiful and moving. Usually, beautiful films with less ‘entertainment’ value don’t present as well. So that will be a challenge upfront in finding the perfect balance.” He added, “I don’t think it’s ever been done before on YouTube, so we will be pioneering a new style of filmmaking for the platform, which is super exciting.”

Overall, the partnership between Dan Mace and MrBeast is an exciting one that has the potential to create massive global change in 2023. With Mace’s skills as a filmmaker and MrBeast’s colossal fan base, this project could make a real difference in the world and help bring about positive change through the power of social media.

As the digital world continues to evolve, it is clear that it will require initiative and hard work from those who wish to stay on top. One thing is for sure; however the space changes, it is inevitable that Dan Mace will be there and leading charge.
