Dreams are powerful things. They can motivate us, inspire us, and give us hope. They are the things that keep us going even when things seem impossible. Dreams can take us on incredible journeys and help us achieve things we never thought possible. One person who embodies the power of dreams is Cheryl Williams. Despite facing numerous obstacles, Cheryl has pursued her dreams with unwavering determination and perseverance. She may not have had any prior modeling experience, but that did not stop her from walking the runway during New York Fashion Week 2023. She went on to represent the entire South as a contestant in World’s Top Model 2023.

Despite dropping out of high school in her sophomore year, Cheryl strongly desired to attend an Ivy League college and study neuroscience, which she accomplished through the Harvard Distance program. She also aspired to become an author, sharing a book cover with Les Brown. Cheryl pursued her dream of becoming a supermodel and walked the runway at New York Fashion Week, with invitations to Milan and London fashion weeks in 2024. She established a non-profit organization called fundfc.org, which has donated over 100,000 educational supplies to foster care youths. Despite her shyness and fear of people, Cheryl also gained the confidence to win a beauty pageant and became a public speaker. She traveled throughout the United States sharing her story and became a life coach to help those with trauma. Cheryl also wanted to volunteer for various causes, have children who do well in school and meet her soulmate, whom she married two years ago. Finally, she finished owning a house in cash by flipping houses. Although she has faced many challenges, Cheryl has completed all her aspirations, except for finding funding to tell the stories of resilient women. Despite people laughing at her for her ambitions and dealing with depression and trauma, Cheryl encourages others not to give up and to have faith.

Her goal is to provide sponsorship to fund film projects with a budget of 2 million dollars, allowing her to tell the stories of women who have overcome adversity. She believes that no matter what age or traumatic experiences one has faced, dreams should never be given up on. Cheryl’s life is a testament to this, as she has gone from being in foster care to becoming the current Mrs. Southwest USA Ambassador.

Dj Ped1ne: Electronic music has been around for decades, but it really started to gain mainstream popularity in the 1990s. The rise of techno and house music in the club scene, as well as the emergence of electronic dance music (EDM) festivals, helped to popularize the genre.

Interviewer: How did techno and house music become popular in the club scene?

Dj Ped1ne: Techno and house music originated in underground club scenes in cities like Detroit and Chicago in the 1980s. These genres were heavily influenced by funk, soul, and disco music and were embraced by marginalized communities, including the LGBTQ community. As the music spread to other cities and countries, it started to gain a wider following. In the 1990s, the rise of rave culture helped to further popularize techno and house music, as well as other electronic genres like trance and drum and bass.

Interviewer: How have electronic music festivals contributed to the genre’s popularity?

Dj Ped1ne: Electronic music festivals have played a huge role in popularizing the genre. These events, which often feature multiple stages and a diverse lineup of artists, provide a platform for electronic music to reach a wider audience. The first major electronic music festival, the Berlin Love Parade, was held in 1989, and since then, countless others have emerged around the world. Today, events like Tomorrowland, Ultra Music Festival, and Electric Daisy Carnival attract thousands of attendees and are broadcasted around the world, which helped to further popularize electronic music and to make it more mainstream.

Interviewer: What do you think the future holds for electronic music?

Dj Ped1ne: Electronic music continues to evolve and change, and I think we’ll see even more experimentation and cross-genre collaboration in the future. Technology is also playing a bigger role in electronic music, with more and more producers and DJs using digital tools to create and perform. I think electronic music will continue to be a driving force in the music industry and will continue to influence and be influenced by other genres.

Interviewer: Can you tell us about your experience as an electronic music DJ and producer?

Dj Ped1ne: Sure, I’ve been DJing and producing electronic music for over a decade now. I started out as a bedroom DJ, experimenting with different sounds and styles. As I became more confident in my skills, I began playing at local clubs and parties. Eventually, I started to gain a following and was able to start touring and performing at larger events.

As a producer, I’ve always been drawn to the experimental side of electronic music. I like to push boundaries and incorporate different elements into my music. I think it’s important to evolve constantly and try new things.

Interviewer: How has electronic music changed since you first started out?

Dj Ped1ne: Electronic music has definitely changed a lot since I first started out. When I first began DJing, the scene was much more underground and niche. It was all about discovering new music and new sounds. But now, electronic music is much more mainstream and accessible. There’s a lot more variety in terms of genres and styles, and it’s not just limited to the club scene anymore. It’s now played in pop, rock, and hip-hop concerts and festivals.

Interviewer: What advice would you give to someone who is just starting out as an electronic music DJ or producer?

Dj Ped1ne: My advice would be to just dive in and start experimenting. Electronic music is a very diverse genre, and there are so many different sounds and styles to explore. Don’t be afraid to try new things and take inspiration from other genres. Also, be open to learning and trying new technologies and software, as they are constantly evolving. And most importantly, have fun and enjoy the process.

The duo has handled thousands of projects to repair damage caused by hundreds of storms. “Time and time again we see homeowners stressed out to the max after a storm hits their home. 99% of them are covered for the damages but in so many cases, people end up under covered for their damages and have to go into their pockets to cover repair costs. That’s just not right.” Says Baldus. 

“We launched our “No Roof Left Behind” program for those people. We’ve been in this industry a long time, here’s how things work behind the scenes. Someone’s property is damaged by a storm that blows through the area. Naturally that person calls their insurance company. The insurance company sends a field adjuster out to take pictures and document the damage. That photo report is then sent to the desk adjuster, (an employee of the insurance company) to determine the cost to repair those damages. Nine times out of ten, line items are missing somewhere on the estimate and that property owner is left without enough money to cover the cost of the repair. Oftentimes, insurance providers aren’t undercovering these claims on purpose, though it does happen. If a property owner doesn’t have a professional in their corner who knows what to look for, it just gets swept under the rug.” He continued. 

“That’s where we come in. As a roofing contractor, we have a complete understanding of these roofing systems. If you ask me, you don’t really know something until you’ve taken it apart and put it back together. Our team has taken apart and put thousands of roofs back together over the years and that’s helped us gain the level of expertise that we have now. When someone qualifies for our No Roof Left Behind program, we provide support throughout the entire restoration process, from start to finish. When that field adjuster comes out to inspect the property, a member of our team is there on the roof with them. When that desk adjuster sends out their estimate, our team reviews that estimate and sends a counter if necessary to make 100% sure that the property owner doesn’t have to go into their pocket and pay tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars to repair the damages to their roof.”
