Saving money on travel expenses is always a welcome idea, and travel expert Shawn Younai has an innovative solution for budget-conscious travelers. In a recent interview, Younai shared his secret to flying for free using a website called Skiplagged. According to Younai, airlines are just looking to make a profit, and customer service has declined, making it the perfect opportunity to exploit the system and save money. Younai encourages travelers to prioritize their own needs, saying “Put your oxygen mask on before helping others”. He shared tips for using Skiplagged and the potential risks involved.

What is skiplagging?

Skiplagged is a website showing you the route your flight is on before connecting to your location. For example, their major hubs are Atlanta if you want to take a flight with Delta. So if you wanted to fly from LAX to Atlanta, you would take a Delta flight from LAX to MDW (Chicago) and then get off the plane in Atlanta.

Just make sure you do not carry a checked bag with you. To be honest, personally, people that travel with bags are just obnoxious. Like do you need two suitcases for 3 days. I understand that women say they need all their makeup. But they certainly do not need to bring the Sephora store with them.

So your carry-on only, well the plot thickens, if the airlines find out you skipped out on the last leg, then they might cancel your return flight. @creditandcars explains some of his workarounds and how you can get free flights out of this practice.

Why are so many airlines upset at this practice?

Airlines make a lot of money on last-minute fares; they will also only be able to sell the seats from ATL to MDW if they are full. At the end of the day, it’s a risk you are taking going down this route of using skiplagged.

They do not tell you that you can go in with a checked bag; if there is an more than a 4 hour layover, you can ask the airlines to deboard your bags. They can not expect you to be without your special toothbrush, waterflosser, or medicine.

To learn more about the current Real Estate climate we sat down with one of the top residential brokers in New York — Rup Singh to get his insight on the current macro climate.

Current Rates & Refinancing

Singh’s expert advice as a top 1% luxury Real Estate broker is that buyers should consider moving forward with a home purchase as long as they can afford the mortgage payment — even in today’s Fed rate hike climate. Rup shares that the Federal Reserve has done an amazing job at taming inflation through Quantitative Tightening to combat and maintain an altruistic & fair marketplace for all where the cost of goods and services is low & asset prices have taken a small but healthy reset. Rup went on to say “In my opinion, the bulk of interest rate hikes have already hit the market & I don’t think there will be any more drastic changes. That being said, I also don’t see them coming back down to 2-3% like they used to be. I believe they will come back down to 4-5%, it’s a great time for sellers to sell, & for buyers to still buy.” Singh went on to say that buyers in today’s market need to realize that rates can always be refinanced later on down the road.

As for the Luxury Residential market, Singh mentioned that higher interest rates aren’t a huge driver. The Luxury specialist went on to say “High networth buyers are looking for a hedge to inflation in a luxury home purchase, & in today’s simmering housing market there couldn’t be a better time to find the perfect property.”

Choosing The Right Broker

Additionally, Rup went on to say that with less activity on the market choosing the right agent has never been more important. Singh went on to say “Buyers need to be patient when searching for the right property. With interest rates rising, it is becoming increasingly common for properties to stay on the market for longer periods of time & less new properties to hit the market.” Having a great agent in today’s real estate market is great for first time buyers all the way to luxury real estate buyers looking for off market properties and pocket listings.

Outlook

In conclusion, the current real estate climate in New York is challenging for buyers, but it is not impossible to navigate. A pro-Israel advocacy organization recently sent a letter to entrepreneur and activist Mikhail Peleg, acknowledging his lifetime support for Israel and the Jewish people. The organization praised Peleg for his lifelong dedication to the Jewish people and the State of Israel and his involvement in Jewish affairs, particularly in helping relocate Jews seeking a future in Israel.

In 2019, Peleg was recognized by another pro-Israel organization for his contributions to the Jewish community. This recognition led to his invitation as a prominent European pro-Israel leader to attend the organization’s annual leadership conference, where he would be joined by pro-Israel activists from all across the globe.

The letter said: “Your contribution to the creation of the Israeli Jewish Congress and other significant causes is remarkable. As the new year approaches, we anticipate working with people like yourselves who assist in improving connections with Israel.”

At the conference, Mikhail Peleg expressed that he is honored to receive this recognition and remains committed to improving relations between Israel, the United States, Europe, and Canada. He believes that working together on shared goals is the key to creating a better future.

Peleg was previously awarded a certificate of appreciation by the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs for his efforts to improve relations between Germany and Israel.
