Is it finally time to address mental health differently?

As the world emerges from a global pandemic, the focus on mental health is more vital than ever before. Depression, anxiety, neurological pain and drug dependency are commonplace amongst millions of people – the Lancet Commission estimates mental health will cost the world $16 trillion by 2030 – so why are existing treatment methods failing?

The mental illness epidemic has brought this question to light, and the psychedelics sector could hold some answers or, at the very least, some hope. Biopharma innovator Carvin Medicines looks to be at the forefront of the novel medicines revolution.

“We are on the leading edge of developing treatment protocols for chronic neurogenic disease with novel medicines,” states Carvin’s website. Based in Switzerland with operations in Israel, Carvin provides cutting-edge technology for the psychedelics industry, working with global leaders in LSD and medicinal mushroom research. Carvin’s chronic pain management focus is highly unique, with two projects underway at the research level that could prove revolutionary.

The first, Project Orion, is geared toward creating a non-addictive pain solution through micro and low-dose formulations of LSD. The goal is to create a pain management system that does not rely on highly addictive opiates or other drugs with dangerous and adverse side effects. In addition, Orion is exploring the treatment of pain indicators from Fibromyalgia and Chronic Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS).

The second, Project Oracle, is focused on developing a psilocybin-based drug that promotes neuroplasticity, or the brain’s ability to change, adapt and modify its structure. This drug can potentially treat debilitating mental and functional disorders, such as stroke recovery, where treatment and recovery were not options.

Both projects have received positive reviews from research, studies, and indicators with solid results, with Project Orion moving towards the final drug formulation.

Carvin Medicines holds a unique position within the psychedelics industry, as they have an exclusive partnership with a pharmaceutical company. Alpex Pharma S.A., a 37-year-old Swiss pharma company, has the facilities, partnerships and FDA approval to develop, manufacture, formulate and register drug candidates. Furthermore, this grants Carvin access to delivery systems for existing drugs in Alpex’s repertoire, such as dissolving tablets and slow-release formulations. These results and level of control are unheard of in the sector and give Carvin the upper hand in research, analysis, and potential commercialization.

Kevin Mckenzie Co-Founder President and Director of Carvin Medicines

The psychedelics sector is primed to take off. Canada made amendments to the Special Access Program in 2022, allowing physicians, researchers and doctors to request psychedelics for patients, and many U.S states have taken steps to decriminalize psychedelic substances. The sector has responded in kind, with a large influx of startups, partnerships and investors flooding the space. As a result, data Bridge Market Research estimates the psychedelic market in the U.S alone could be worth $9.8 billion by 2029.

Carvin looks to stand alone. Their unique focus, a team of global leaders, positive results and partnership with Alpex S.A separates them from the pack and allows them to push the boundaries of how we treat mental illness and pain.

Marketing Platform and Startup Manycontent Utilizes Artificial Intelligence for Marketing Content with Images and Texts

In the last five years, Brazil has occupied considerable space in the international technology market from companies well known to the public, such as Nubank, Ifood, Mercado Livre and the most recent Brex, from the new Brazilian billionaires Pedro Franceschi and Henrique Dubugras. The increasing number of Brazilian technology companies reaching the international market portrays the right moment for developing scalable digital businesses worldwide.

This competition is increasing. There are dozens of new Brazilian companies about to become “unicorns” in the global market due to ideas that caught investors’ attention and users’ interest, enabling international operations.

Among the promising startups, Manycontent from Santos on the coast of São Paulo is a highlight in the marketing area. It bets on artificial intelligence developed to save time for people who create content for themselves or companies on social networks.

The idea came from the founder Christian Barbosa, who in 2018 brought the current CEO of the company Bruno Mello and the current CTO Anderson Alves to be partners to act in the development, management and sales of the platform. In August of that year, they launched Manycontent’s Alfa on the market, with the support of famous Brazilian angel investor and serial entrepreneur Jonathas Freitas, who also became a partner in the startup. Jonathas is already recognized in the market for having founded and invested in more than 40 technology startups in Brazil, including Blitzpay and Touroclass, current industry highlights. In 2021 he was considered one of the most critical people in Brazil in the technology field by Jornal de Brasilia.

Since its founding in 2018 until now, Manycontent has grown, surpassing the USD 10 million mark in the international market and appearing on the lists of Brazilian companies with the potential to become unicorns due to expansion to other countries, including the United States.

In an interview, Bruno Mello spoke about the receptivity of the international public: “The arrival abroad was excellent! As Manycontent is a differentiated and complete platform, we bring convenience, security and assertiveness to customers. Therefore, in countries that have a superheated market for content, we are doing very well. In those that are still in their infancy, we are opening up opportunities and having extremely positive feedbacks,” said the CEO of Manycontent.

And it’s no wonder their technology can collect data and use it to develop personalized art and texts for a particular person or company on the internet, all designed taking into account what’s trending on the networks and what will be able to engage within that segment, all automatically, with the possibility of disapproving or approving content and even editing it. All user history on the platform is also transformed into data to improve the experience with each use.

In all, more than 700 thousand projects have been created on the platform, which has already conquered more than 5 thousand users internationally, in two different versions, the first in Portuguese and the most recent in English.

When we talk about artificial intelligence doing people’s work, there is always controversy; however, in this case, the objective is that this technology is an ally in this sense and can be a tool capable of scaling the business for agencies and professionals who usually work creating content. Bruno believes that with this technology, professionals in the area can ignite business: “Agencies or social media managers cannot easily scale their business, as everything has to go through people. Today, we have hundreds of agencies and social media managers working with Manycontent. They outsource content creation with the platform, and with that, they are able to scale their business absurdly and serve many more customers,” said the content marketing specialist.

We are facing a Brazilian startup that sowed a brilliant idea in 2018, which is about to become an indispensable tool in the world of content marketing at a global level in the coming years.

The technology is available in the United States, and people can find it on www.manycontent.com/

Why You Need a Wrongful Termination Lawyer If You’re Suing Your Former Employer

Filing a lawsuit against your former employer can lead to some very unpleasant surprises, like receiving an overwhelming stack of paperwork from your ex-employer in response to your complaint, including a counterclaim that you never expected. In order to stand up to the corporate lawyers who will be representing your ex-employer and make sure that you get the best possible outcome from your wrongful termination suit, you’ll need to hire one of your own as soon as possible—and not just any wrongful termination lawyer in Los Angeles will do. The experienced Los Angeles corporate lawyer at California Business Lawyer & Corporate Lawyer Inc., are California’s top rank attorneys.

Things To Consider Before Filing A Lawsuit

If you’re considering filing a lawsuit against your former employer, there are a few things you should take into account first. arbitration vs mediation One of the first things you’ll need to decide is whether you want to go the route of arbitration or mediation. While both options can help you reach a resolution, they differ in terms of time commitment, cost, and privacy. Arbitration can be cheaper and quicker than going through mediation, but it doesn’t offer as much confidentiality because any information discussed during arbitration proceedings will be considered part of the public record.

Mediation, on the other hand, allows for more privacy since everything discussed during that process remains confidential unless it’s written down and signed by all parties involved. Additionally, arbitration proceedings may take longer than an hour while some medications can be completed within just an hour or two.

How Do I Avoid Being Sued?

Upon receiving a lawsuit, a corporation must hire a wrongful termination lawyer in Los Angeles to answer the complaint.  A corporation may be sued for many reasons. What might be surprising to you is that most business owners don’t really know what kind of lawsuit they’re facing until after they’ve hired an attorney. For Avoidance Actions, mediation or arbitration is usually the best way to go as it allows parties to resolve their disputes privately with assistance from a neutral third party arbitrator or mediator who has no stake in either side of the dispute.

What Should I Expect After Filing A Lawsuit?

If you’ve been wrongfully terminated, you may be considering filing a lawsuit against your former employer. But what can you expect after taking this step? Depending on the situation, one of two things will happen: either you’ll be asked to mediate the dispute or go through arbitration. Mediation is when both parties in the dispute meet with an impartial third party mediator to come up with an agreement that satisfies both sides.

Getting In Touch With An Employment Attorney

If you think you were wrongfully terminated from your job, the first step is to contact an experienced employment attorney. They will be able to tell you if you have a case and what the next steps are. Many employment attorneys offer free consultations, so it’s worth it to at least chat with one to get their opinion. Nakase law firm  offers services to those who would like assistance with their corporate disputes.

iFitness to Launch  Virtual Fitness Platforms by Q4 ’22, Targets Millions of Subscribers

West Africa’s first and fastest growing fitness chain is launching a digital platform that will be providing fitness services to people globally, its Founder and CEO Foluso Ogunwale said.

The digital platform, expected to launch by the fourth quarter of 2022, will provide innovative on-demand fitness content for its clients, with an interface designed for maximum versatility and easy to use at “an affordable cost,” Foluso Ogunwale said. More importantly, the iFitness digital platform is different from all others on the market, we have worked on our differentiation strategy and made sure that we are bringing something of value that other apps aren’t providing yet. We are inspired by this, we are happy that we have another opportunity to reach many millions of people on a global scale, said Foluso.

According to the CEO, iFitness aims to encourage millions of people not only in West Africa but globally to live healthier and happier lives“ and these digital platforms are one of the ways we see ourselves helping users to connect to an existing community that has chosen fitness as a lifestyle. Our mission is to provide a fun, youthful, and functional fitness experience that promotes a culture of health and wellness.”

Subscribers on the platforms could turn their spaces into a workout stations through an array of cardio, toning, HIIT, and stretching content. The platforms will also feature no-equipment and minimal equipment workouts, as well as options for those who already have a state-of-the-art gym setup at home.

Currently, iFitness, West Africa’s fastest-growing fitness chain, is backed by private equity funding secured through CardinalStone Capital Advisers, a Lagos-based fund manager. iFitness gyms currently have over 50,000 registered members and will be providing more than 1,000 jobs by end of Q1, 2023.

“We are the fastest growing gym chain in Nigeria and West Africa. Our growth started in 2017 from a 150-square-meter gym with just 5 staff members. In a new market where fitness was not common, it took quite a lot to demonstrate proof of concept to partners and investors. The Nigerian market had not experienced a fitness experience that was common, affordable, youthful, and vibrant before iFitness started.

“Now, we are building fitness communities alongside our gyms, so people are finding friendships, connecting with people of like minds, and generally embracing the culture of fitness more than ever before. It’s a big thing,” Bukola Ogunwale, Shareholder at iFitness, said.

The digital offering comes after a surge in home-based workouts followed the widespread COVID-19 impact that crippled the $96.7 billion global gym industry as a result of lockdown orders. Nigeria’s fitness industry, whose total revenue in the health & fitness segment is projected to reach $6.64m by 2022, according to Statista, is still trying to find its footing after the COVID-19 pandemic destroyed most gym owners’ projections and expansion plans.

iFitness was founded in 2015 with the vision of building the company to “become the preferred fitness chain in Africa by 2023,” according to Ogunwale.

The fitness chain is currently West Africa’s first and fastest growing fitness chain, with 20 branches by December 2022 across Nigeria, including Lagos and Abuja, the nation’s capital. The company will also be expanding for the first time into neighboring West African countries this year, he said.

“Our expansion is not in itself just a spread of branches, but to foster a large community of people who have chosen healthy living as their lifestyle,” Ogunwale said.
