High Levels Of Toxins Found In Water: An Analysis

Without water, life would not be possible. Water is essential to life. Today, however, there is a global worry over the declining quality of water. One of the most valuable natural resources in the world is clean water. Although having access to clean drinking water is a basic human right, in several American towns and cities, this is far from the case. It is possible to assume certain pollutants in drinking water, if not in large levels. Water bodies become contaminated when water contained chemicals like benzene and formaldehyde or dangerous microbes and chemicals are present.

Although some contaminants in drinking water could be more dangerous if consumed in specific quantities, others might be less dangerous. Drinking clean water is important if you wish to keep yourself healthy. Contaminants may not always mean that drinking the water is unsafe for your health. Within this article, we dwell on the grave issue of toxins found in drinking water, what kinds are they, and much more. Keep reading to find out.

Reasons For Water Contamination

Water bodies become contaminated when dangerous microbes and chemicals are present in them, which lowers the water’s quality and may even render it hazardous. The economy, the environment, and human health can all be negatively impacted by water pollution. Industrial pollutants, deforestation, inappropriate pesticide usage, poor waste disposal practices, leaky storage facilities, etc. all contribute to water contamination. As a result, the water that comes out of taps may be contaminated and harmful to human health.

Let us look at the primary ways that water might be contaminated below:

1. Waste Generated By Industries

Worldwide, industries and industrial facilities have a significant role in water contamination. Despite being regulated, some industrial facilities keep producing wastage of harmful chemicals and contaminants. Industrial waste is occasionally thrown into surrounding freshwater bodies. Industrial waste material has a very high potential to contaminate freshwater systems when improperly handled.

Industrial waste from mining operations, manufacturing facilities, and agricultural areas can enter streams, rivers, and other waterways that flow straight into the ocean. In addition to possibly making the water unfit for human consumption, the hazardous compounds in the wastes generated by these enterprises also have the ability to alter the temperature of freshwater ecosystems, endangering a variety of aquatic creatures.

2. Marine Disposal

Marine disposal is pretty self-explanatory—it involves throwing trash into the ocean. Even though it may sound absurd, several nations still collect domestic waste and throw it into oceans. The majority of these goods may take upto 200 years to totally disintegrate.

3. Wastewater and Sewage

Even after treatment, toxic substances, germs, and pathogens can still be detected in wastewater effluents. Each residence releases effluent and sewage into the sea along with freshwater resources. The germs and bacteria in that wastewater spread disease, resulting in problems with both human and animal health.

4. Agriculture

Farmers frequently employ chemicals and pesticides to preserve their harvests from disease and insects. These pollutants can be harmful to people, crops, wildlife, and the environment when they infiltrate into groundwater. Furthermore, the chemicals combine with precipitation when it rains, which further runs into streams and rivers and eventually the ocean, increasing water contamination.

5. Global Warming

In terms of water contamination, rising temperatures brought on by global warming is a serious worry. Water-dwelling creatures may die as a result of rising water temperatures brought on by global warming. Huge die-offs exacerbate the problem by polluting the water source further.

Types Of Toxins In Water

Arsenic

Although it is dangerous and a potent cancer-causing toxin, it is nevertheless employed in industrial operations. Arsenic poisoning can result in nausea, puking, and diarrhoea, and prolonged exposure can cause skin cancer, lung cancer, kidney cancer, and other types of cancer.

Chlorine

This is the most popular chemical that is used in the purification of water for swimming pools and cleaning items. It is used to purify drinking water by adding it to it. But it might be harmful to health if used extensively. Do you know that it forms a poisonous connection with water when it is extremely reactive? Chlorine gas and vapours are two of the most hazardous types of chlorine. The effects of it include weariness, vomiting, and severe dizziness.

Heavy Metals

Even the prevalence of metals in water, such as lead and mercury, is harmful to human health. Due to aged, corroded water pipes, lead gets released into the water. Children are the most severely affected and it is poisonous to practically every organ. Developing children face issues, learning difficulties, brain damage, etc. may result from it. It can result in a preterm birth if consumed while pregnant. Additionally, it can result in prostate cancer, autism, difficulties becoming pregnant, kidney impairment, etc.

But at the other hand, when thermal power plants or even other businesses emit mercury into the air, it then falls to the ground as snow or rain. Ingestion can result in serious health issues like eyesight, head trauma, motor coordination impairment, migraines, and nerve damage.

Conclusion

Water contamination is a serious problem that affects the entire world and is brought on by numerous causes. It can seriously hurt our health and economy and seriously upset ecological systems. Water is a very precious resource, and maintaining a clean water supply around the world requires effective water treatment legislation and administration. We listed the reasons for water contamination and types of contaminants within this article.

Khalid Doaifi Gains Great Momentum in E-Commerce

E-commerce is one cutthroat industry. But Khalid Doaifi proves that there is no arena too rough for a visionary hungry for success.

Long before starting his own venture in the e-commerce space, 27-year-old visionary Khalid was exposed to the life of running a business. Well before he was born, his family was already making waves in the hospitality industry, which fostered his love and passion for meeting and engaging with new people. Back then, he always knew that he wanted a lot out of life, seeing how his family flourished in their industry by setting their own path instead of living the conventional nine-to-five corporate lifestyle. After a year in college, Khalid realized that learning within four walls was not for him. “I knew I could be better without it and make my own path by self-learning,” the visionary shared.

At 18 years old, he fiercely entered the world of car sales and absorbed every piece of knowledge he could to be the best in the landscape. He took on many roles, from being at the frontline of sales to eventually hold managerial positions in the industry. He was achieving significant milestones during his run, but, always aiming for more, he wanted to carve a different path, one he could call his own and not just follow in the tracks previously set by others.

In his search for another avenue for his determination and work ethic, Khalid partnered with two digital entrepreneurs who were successfully cementing their authority in the e-commerce industry. He saw how his partners were making a huge difference in the space and wanted to be part of it. Eager to be the best, he invested and dedicated himself to learning the A to Zs of e-commerce. Today, Khalid has helped countless entrepreneurs leverage the power of the digital space to build sustainable and passive income-generating stores. He has also played an active role in helping his clients diversify their investment portfolios or, for some, kick start their journey as novice investors in the e-commerce space.

Khalid’s expertise covers many aspects of e-commerce, including Automated Amazon Wholesale FBA, Walmart WFS, Shopify, e-commerce marketing, and high-ticket affiliate marketing programs. A well-rounded expert, Khalid ensures that his clients’ ventures stand a cut above the rest and never fail to exceed their expectations. The entrepreneur is always pushing the boundaries of what can be done in the industry and creates his own innovations to make systems even more efficient and capable of adapting to the rapid changes in the industry.

Asked what sets him and his team apart, Khalid emphasized how they value transparency in their services, ensuring that their clients fully understand the logistics of the business and going above and beyond in tailoring programs to cater to specific client needs. Being in e-commerce for a decade, there is truly no doubt that Khalid is an indispensable professional in the landscape. He also shared that entrepreneurs in the digital space should not be scared of taking risks and face whatever it is that holds them back from reaching their dreams. “I’ve seen that what scares us the most in life is the best thing for us and will change our lives for the better,” Khalid said.

Yael Eckstein: Salary and Income Inequality in Israel Among Highest in Western World

Written by: Tedfuel

Yael Eckstein is president and CEO of the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews (The Fellowship, leading all ministry programs for the organization, which is the largest Christian-supported humanitarian organization helping Israel and the Jewish people. In 2021, The Fellowship raised more than $200 million to help more than 2 million Jews in need in Israel and around the world.

As President and CEO of The Fellowship, Yael Eckstein oversees all ministry programs and serves as the international spokesperson. Prior to her present duties, Yael served as Global Executive Vice President, Senior Vice President, and Director of Program Development and Ministry Outreach. Based in Israel with her husband and their four children, Yael is a published writer and a respected social services professional.

She has contributed to The Jerusalem Post, The Times of Israel, Newsweek, and other publications, and is the author of three books: Holy Land Reflections: A Collection of Inspirational Insights from Israel, Spiritual Cooking with Yael, and Generation to Generation: Passing on a Legacy of Faith to Our Children. In addition, her insights into life in Israel, the Jewish faith, and Jewish-Christian relations can be heard weekly on The Fellowship’s radio program Holy Land Moments, broadcast on over 1,300 radio stations around the world. In 2021, she launched her weekly podcast, Nourish Your Biblical Roots, in which she shares spiritual insights and lessons from the Torah. And each month, Yael invites leading Christian and Jewish thought leaders to her podcast to discuss Jewish-Christian relations and Israel’s significance on the world stage on Conversations with Yael.

Yael has partnered with other global organizations, appeared on national television, and visited with U.S. and world leaders on issues of shared concern. She has been a featured guest on CBN’s The 700 Club with Gordon Robertson, and she served on a Religious Liberty Panel on Capitol Hill in May 2015 in Washington, D.C., discussing religious persecution in the Middle East. Her influence as one of the young leaders in Israel was featured as the cover story of Nashim [Women] magazine in May 2015. Four years later, The Algemeiner named Yael to the Jewish 100, referring to her as “the world’s leading Jewish interfaith activist.” In 2020 and 2021, she was named to the Jerusalem Post’s list of 50 Most Influential Jews, and in 2022, she made the list of “50 of our favorite Jewish women right now” by Future of Jewish.

A Chicagoan born in Evanston, Illinois, and well-educated at both American and Israeli institutions – including biblical studies at Torat Chesed Seminary in Israel, Jewish and sociology studies at Queens College in New York, and additional study at Hebrew University in Jerusalem – Yael has also been a Hebrew and Jewish Studies teacher in the U.S. She lives in Israel with her husband and their four children.

Yael Eckstein has been a strong advocate for addressing poverty and income inequality around the world, and especially in Israel.

In December, The World Inequality Lab published their World Inequality Report 2022, which highlights the worldwide trend of the rich getting richer. Over the past 20 years, the gap between the average incomes of the top 10% and the bottom 50% in countries has nearly doubled, from 8.5 times to 15 times.

A leading example of this growth in income inequality is Israel. While average incomes in Israel are higher than in France and the UK – the average adult income in Israel is equal to roughly $65,843 – the bottom 50% of the population have average salaries of just $17,092, while the top 10% boast annual earnings of $323,634, nearly 19 times that of the bottom 50%.

Israel’s inequality levels are very similar to the US, with the bottom 50% of the population accounting for 13% of all national earnings, and the top 10% accounting for 49% of all national earnings. Israel and the US are considered to have the worst income inequality in the developed world.

The income inequality in Israel increased significantly due to Liberalization reforms nearly 30 years ago; a slight improvement since 2012 has had very little impact.

One area where Israel received decent marks is gender equality. Women make up 38% of the labor force, on par with North America. Western Europe posts slightly better marks, but the labor force in the neighboring Middle East is still only made up of 15% women.

According to Israel’s National Insurance Institute, 1.92 million people, or one-fifth of the population, was living in poverty in 2020. This included 864,000 children.

The New Business Concept: Be Yourself!

Written by: Tedfuel

Representation matters in the LGBTQ+ community–especially in business where it is still lacking. Eli and Mike are creating that representation in business just by being themselves, and they are gaining momentum in other fields because of it.

Eli Delgado and Mike Vizcarra are business owners and they’re getting married! They are mainly in real estate and lending but also have a mentoring business where they seek to help folks of the LGBTQ+ community get the support they need in becoming successful entrepreneurs. Their success in real estate has allowed them to be out and be themselves, and from that, they are creating the much-needed representation of the queer community in real estate.

Because representation of the LGBTQ+ community in real estate is lacking, Eli and Mike want to change that. Representation is important because sometimes clients just need a real estate agent who understands them. There is a special bond that comes with that. Eli and Mike make that happen for so many people of the LGBTQ+ community and outside that community as well. They own M&E Real Estate Services Inc. which employs 22 other people to make up their expert team. In addition, Eli is the co-owner of The Mortgage Guys which works in tandem with their real estate business. Eli and Mike are not just business partners–they’re life partners.

They’ve worked and been together for over a decade. They got to where they are today in part due to mindset. When asked how mindset plays a role in their success they said, “It’s everything. [It] means going up against all types of conflicts, including haters…” Eli and Mike had to overcome poverty and discrimination to get where they are now. Since our culture is now shifting to a much more accepting place–the world can now see the power couple they always knew they were.

Currently, they are striving for Instagram credibility (via the blue check mark) and will continue to perfect their brand. They’re looking to get the attention of celebrities and other clients because they know their worth. They know who they are. Being yourself and celebrating that is what business is all about now. Customers and clients can respect and relate to that. Eli and Mike are making it happen with a great real estate business and just being themselves.

How Real Estate Agent Dan Lee Built an Empire Through Entertaining Real Estate Videos

Building a respectable real estate empire is not a walk in the park, even for those with huge capitalization and marketing budgets. The tough competition among real estate companies can get very discouraging, especially for those who started out small like Dan Lee, owner of PlumProperty. Determined to make a name for himself in the business, he thought of a distinctive way to stand out and get people’s attention – through entertaining and engaging real estate videos.

True enough, Dan and his company started to get the attention they wanted. From a small business, it blossomed into a large company in just six years. At present, it has 45 staff members and has achieved $1.5 billion in property sales since its establishment in 2016. If anything, Dan has proven that a creative mind can go a long way for any kind of business. Real estate promotions need not always be serious. By making his promotional videos and materials funny, he attracted the niche he wanted.

Dan is extremely proud of his humble beginnings. In a highly competitive kind of business, it is often rare to meet someone with the humility to admit his early struggles. He is thankful for all the lifelong lessons he gathered during the time he was starting out. Thanks to them, Dan is where he is meant to be today.

“Start small, keep your fixed costs down. Clients don’t care about your flashy office. They care about service and results. A lot of clients like the fact that you are a small business and are hustling to achieve your goals and are more willing to support you with their business,” Dan shared. “Treat your staff well, and your best staff like heroes, engrain them in the business, and reward staff frequently for great results. Hold amazing team meetings, make them fun and motivating, celebrate the wins with everyone, celebrate anniversaries and birthdays and top performances.”

The entrepreneur and lovable influencer used his personal apartment when he launched PlumProperty together with his best friend. In his first year of operation, Dan did not tell his clients he had an office to prevent his clients from seeing the real condition of his business. Instead, he would simply ask to meet them in cafes or their homes. “We have grown fast because of our investment in social media and our entertaining style of advertising,” Dan revealed.

In his second year of operations, Dan felt the pressure of raising his equity for his business to survive. It was during that time that he almost went completely broke. The market was very challenging, and his 12-man team was not selling any property at all. He was forced to borrow money from a friend to sustain his operations. In the third year of PlumProperty, Dan encountered challenges with his business office. He was running the business using a house and was flagged and given due notice to leave after 30 days. He was forced to look for a decent commercial space to move his business there. The move turned out to be quite a blessing as the new opportunity afforded them a lot of room to grow. By the following year, Dan had already added more people to his team.

After much patience and hard work, Dan became a well-respected real estate agent. He is a three-time industry finalist for Large Agency of the Year in his state and a two-time finalist for the Industry Sales Person of the Year. In addition, due to his unique style of marketing a property, he made it to the Today Show for a segment.

PlumProperty is where it is today because Dan Lee never gave up on his dream. Instead, by simply pushing forward with his ambitions, he was able to reach his goals.

The King of Cracks Takes the Internet and Social Media by Storm

Social media platforms are undoubtedly the most powerful avenues to promote or market any brand today. It has made the world a much smaller place, allowing merchants, traders, and entrepreneurs from different regions to do business with each other quite easily. Social media has also connected them with their target markets seamlessly. Dr. Jimmy Sayegh, a chiropractor and owner of King of Cracks, knows this all too well, as social media saved his professional practice during the pandemic.

Dr. Sayegh talks candidly about how the pandemic proved to be one of the most difficult challenges he encountered with King of Cracks. He anticipated the economic hardship his business would experience and knew that it would greatly affect how he supported his family’s day-to-day needs. However, by deciding to leverage the power of social media, not only was he able to brave the threats of the pandemic effectively, but he was also able to surpass previous goals set for his practice. It was through social media that Dr. Sayegh was able to continue to grow his brand and connect with his clients even in the midst of the COVID-19 threat.

Today, King of Cracks has four million followers on social media, attracting people from different parts of the world. Chiropractic continues to be a rising medical practice as people see it as a natural alternative to health care. Dr. Sayegh is one of many licensed professional chiropractors around the world who went through thorough training to safely examine, diagnose, and treat musculoskeletal disorders and become licensed physicians.

Dr. Sayegh has big plans for King of Cracks, which is expected to expand globally. Apart from attending to the business aspect of his professional practice, he also wishes to empower others to learn the craft to reach more people who may be in dire need of chiropractic.

“National and worldwide growth is vital to my future vision of the brand. My future plans consist of opening multiple office locations across the nation and world. I see myself mentoring/educating future chiropractors, PTs and massage therapists and helping the field grow as a whole and work side by side with our medical professionals,” Dr. Sayegh shared.

Running a successful business is not a walk in the park. In fact, it demands so much from its owners. Dr. Sayegh urges new and seasoned entrepreneurs to continue to do what they do best and believe that in doing so, they will reap what they have sown.

“Find your niche, perfect it, become the best at it. Showcase your talent for the world to see. Don’t focus so much on growth but rather show the world your special talents and one of a kind characteristics. Social media growth takes time, persistence and love for what you do,” Dr. Sayegh said. “The one lesson I learned from social media is patience. It takes 100% commitment and dedication to grow your brand. Use all platforms possible that suit your niche. I advise everyone to network with others in your industry and remain humble. Focus on your growth yet keep in mind that someone out there is working just as hard as you, if not harder,” he added.

Dr. Sayegh has had the privilege of treating professional athletes such as DK Metcalf and Karim Benzema, among others. He also treated celebrities, actors, directors, and musicians such as Ava Duvernay, Ross Mathews, and Larry Hernandez.

How the US Reinvented Drug Rehab -Male-Only Services

Statistics show that men are more likely to suffer from substance use disorders but less likely to seek treatment for it. However, Bryan Alzate, CEO of United Recovery CA says that ‘the stigma surrounding mental health affects people regardless of gender.’

Men feel the need to present themselves as robust and unaffected by the woes of life. This leads to unspoken feelings and repressed hurt, leading to drug use, abuse, and addiction. Hence the rise of male-only drug rehabs.

Men Struggle with Substance Use Disorder

The risk factors that contribute to men being victims of substance use disorders are fairly numerous. Statistically, men are more likely to engage in illicit drug use for recreational purposes just for the sake of being adventurous.

Men are also more likely to not seek help for their mental health issues which leads to self-medication with alcohol and illicit drugs. The pressures that young boys face to behave a certain way and to suppress their psychological traumas lead them to hesitate while they struggle in silence.

Studies have shown that almost half of the people suffering from a SUD have coexisting mental illnesses. These include depression, anxiety, PTSD, borderline personality disorder, etc.

The rates of suicide attempts are also much higher in men than women. This is an indicator of their hesitance to reach out for help. Most of the people who end up committing suicide have been found to be suffering from substance use or alcohol use disorders.

Keeping all of this in mind, it is important to pay extra attention and care while diagnosing mental illnesses and their manifestations. It is also crucial to build awareness around these issues and to let people know that they are not alone in their suffering and that help is available to them.

The Stigma of Male Mental Health

In the past few decades, statistics have shown that women seek professional help for their mental health and substance use disorders more than men.

They feel ashamed to disclose not only their true feelings but also when they are deeply struggling with their mental health. Mental health issues can manifest as a result of sexual abuse and emotional abuse which they feel obligated to hide.

They perceive their vulnerability as a sign of weakness. This in turn often leads them to adopt unhealthy coping mechanisms including alcohol and drug abuse which leads to alcohol and drug addiction. According to the National Alliance on Mental Illness, around six million men suffer from depression in the United States.

The stigma surrounding men’s mental health manifests as self-stigma, social stigma, cultural stigma, and professional stigma.

Self-stigma and internalization of patriarchal mindsets lead men to believe that if they exhibit signs of depression or emotional vulnerability, it is a sign of weakness and cowardice. Social stigma and cultural stigma make people feel too embarrassed to seek help for their mental health and substance use disorders.

The Pressure to Care for Your Family and How to Care for Yourself

One of the reasons why self-stigma surrounding mental health and SUDs prevails in men is that they feel pressured to put their family before their well-being. In our male-dominated society, men end up placing themselves on a pedestal as breadwinners and sole caretakers of the family.

This ends up being more than they can handle in many situations. It also leads to alienation from their loved ones where they feel unable to express their true feelings for fear of appearing as unreliable.

For this reason, even if men end up reaching out for help for their alcohol and substance use disorders, they opt for detox or outpatient programs. They feel guilty for not taking care of their family or earning for them while they take time off to heal from their SUD or mental health disorders.

Hence, it is important to take a step back and encourage an environment of open communication with one’s family and loved ones. This makes people more empathetic toward one another and also cultivates an environment where there is no shame associated with reaching out for help.

Why Choose a Residential Rehab?

Inpatient rehabilitation centers are designed and catered to provide detoxification and rehab facilities to people suffering from mental health disorders, alcohol use disorders, and any type of substance use disorder. Following are the benefits of seeking residential rehabilitation:

  • Safe medical detox is provided in inpatient rehabilitation to reduce the painful symptoms of detoxification.
  • Trained medical staff is available 24/7. They will help you take care of yourself while you focus on getting your life back on track.
  • Rehabilitation facilities provide clients an environment of empathy and encouragement to live a life free from alcohol or drug dependency.
  • Mental health professionals are readily available to help you explore underlying mental health issues that may contribute to your SUD.
  • The environment will help you break the cycle of addiction and build healthy life habits so you feel confident and sure of yourself before you start a fresh chapter of your life.

Men’s Residential Treatment Programs

Gender-specific rehab programs can help one recover in an environment where one feels more understood and accepted. It is hard for men to open up to those around them. However, when the right environment is provided with people going through the same thing as you, it becomes much easier.

There are many advantages to seeking out a mens’ only rehabilitation program. While all rehab programs aim to create a judgement-free environment, it becomes significantly more comfortable when one opts for a facility where one feels naturally at ease.

One may find people who relate to one’s problems. This is very encouraging. Listening to other men’s problems, thoughts, and experiences can also help one learn a lot of healthy lessons. It also helps to break the stigma around mental health that is more prevalent in male-dominated circles.

Summary

#1 Men face deeper social stigma regarding mental health and SUDs. They find it difficult to come forward about issues they are facing and to seek help regarding their alcohol and substance use disorders.

#2 These issues should be addressed as current statistics regarding men’s mental health, SUD, and suicide rates are increasingly alarming.

#3 There are many benefits to inpatient rehabilitation services. Men’s only rehabilitation facilities are also available to help men with their mental health and substance use disorders.
