An example of a scholar and scientific expert that revolutionized their field of science and made substantial contributions to the betterment of humanity is the prominent and leading mind of the medical science industry Dr. Richard W. The medical field can easily be accounted as the most important and influential field in society. The field of work that impacts the well-being of people and helps cure the ailing is always going to stand apart from the rest. However, this also makes this field the hardest to innovate and improve. To bring innovation in the medical requires an individual to be submersed in research and do their due diligence before reporting any progress. The reason behind it is that the field of medical science cannot afford small gaps or lacks definitive proof of success. Clinical experts devote all their being to perfecting their theories and devising substantial proof of their real-time success rates. Being a medical researcher is no easy task, and the journey of Dr. Richard was no exception to this fact.

Dr. Richard was born on 29 December 1953 and is an American national. The reason behind him choosing the field of medical science research was to find new ways to help the ailing majority of society and bring forth new hope for those that needed it the most. To realize his noble dreams, he enrolled in the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and secured his BS and MS in Physical therapy from there. His reason for enrolling in this specialization was his drive to rid the world of the most common ailments of physical conditions. After completing his MS, he became more engrossed in this specialization and noticed his thirst for knowledge grow. To quench this thirst, he further enrolled in the North Carolina State University to receive his Doctorate of Education and the Boston University to secure his Doctorate of Physical Therapy. With time and an increase in success, his search for more knowledge that could empower him to help others grew even more. Therefore, as of 2021, he is pursuing a Ph.D. at the University of Portsmouth.

From the beginning, the only factor that supported his elevation and progress in the medical science field was hard work and determination. His family had no background in the medical field, but ne did have some mentors to guide him in his journey. The major guidance he received was as a never-yielding drive to be of better help to humanity. His earlier research was primarily focused on the activity measurement issues of the human body. His research of the expected activity values amongst adults under the age of 65 was widely recognized and is mentioned in the book “Objective of monitoring physical activity” by Roy J. Shepherd. Due to his brilliant research, Dr. Bohannon has been cited more than 41,000 times. Definitive proof of his brilliance in medical science research is the fact that he has more than 500 peer-reviewed publications and an H-Index of 91, according to Google Scholar.

Dr. Bohannon has always believed in not only accomplishing more but also teaching others and guiding them on how to do so. Dr. Bohannon is currently Professor Emeritus at the University of Connecticut (Storrs, CT) and Principal of Physical Therapy Consultants (Fuquay-Varina, NC). Previously he had also served as a full-tenured professor of Physical Therapy at the University of Connecticut for 20 years. He had also served as a faculty member at the University of Illinois and, more recently, at Campbell University. Bohannon was ranked in the top 1% of global experts in several topics, including muscle and hand strength in 2020 by Expertscape and again in 2021 for his contribution in walking specific topics

Dr. Bohannon’s love of research also served him well in the editorial field as his publications have enjoyed widely spread recognition and praise. In 1996 he received the Helen Hislop Award for Outstanding Contributions to the Professional Literature; In 2005, he was the recipient of the Marian Williams Award for Research in Physical Therapy; and in 2008, he was awarded the Jules Rothstein Golden Pen Award for Scientific Writing; with each award being presented to him by the American Physical Therapy Association.

Dr. Bohannon is living proof that hard work pays off, and there can be nothing more fulfilling and rewarding than working for the sake of others. Even now, he is continuing on making new revolutions in the Physical Therapy sector and devoting much of his efforts to impact the lives of the ones in need.
