Sun City Summerlin Ideal for Baby Boomers to Settle Down after Retirement

With many Baby Boomers relocating to Las Vegas to spend their retired lives peacefully amidst the availability of all amenities, the Sun City Summerlin now stands as their first destination of choice.

This trend is making the home-buying market hot. One of its reasons happens to be the fact that a large number of Baby boomers are coming into retirement age and they require new houses which they can afford in this part of Las Vegas blessed with fresh air and scenic beauty with smiling sunny days.

For these retirees, the Sun City Summerlin can offer everything that they want. The Baby boomers constitute about 28% of the total population of the USA, thus forming one of the largest demographic segments of the country.

According to the US Census Bureau data of 2016, there were around 74.1 million Baby Boomers in the United States. Here, the requirement of homes comes to the fore.

Being born between 1946 and 1964, they are now in the retirement age or have already retired. The rush for a home in the Sun City Summerlin can be gauged from the fact that nearly one million Baby boomers already retired a few years ago and in 2020, another 1.7 million baby boomers joined the ranks of retirees.

Close to nature and the Red Rock Conservation Area, this particular area of Las Vegas ideally suits the retirees as the cost of living here is not high and the property taxes also are comparatively low. Due to this, the Baby Boomers already retired or reaching their retirement age prefer this place. They, of all other places, prefer to move to the state of Nevada.

Though California currently has more Baby Boomers than any other state in America, a large number of them moved to Las Vegas and the whole state of Nevada. Low taxation in Las Vegas and the Zero state income tax  of Nevada is one of the reasons why the Baby boomers eye to relocate there.

It may be mentioned here that about 30% of the homebuyers on the Las Vegas real estate market are in fact Californians with a majority of them being the Baby Boomers. Among them, nearly 80% are homeowners. Their first choice, among others, is the Sun City Summerlin due to its amenities and such extra benefits as maintenance-free community pools and fitness rooms.

Here, it is important to say that many Baby boomers after retirement show the tendency to live in smaller homes than bigger houses or villas. Smaller homes are less burdensome as far as the maintenance costs and hassles are concerned. Besides, the smaller homes help them save money which they can invest in several income-generating avenues.

Naturally, the master-planned community of Sun City Summerlin is their first choice. It has world-class amenities, including pools, fitness centers, easily accessible medical centers, educational facilities as well as access to hundreds of activities and classes the residents can attend.

Las Vegas suits them from the safety point of view also as it is ranked one of the safest cities in the United States with a low crime rate and low natural disasters.

It must be mentioned here that some of the retired Baby Boomers may like to work in small businesses or take up part-time employment. In this regard, Las Vegas with its large number of businesses suits them ideally as they can easily find some job.
