Dr. Khrom is a fellowship-trained, board-certified dermatologist and the founder of Khrom Dermatology and Aesthetics. She established her flagship KHROM Dermatology practice in South Brooklyn in 2006. Since then, she has opened up four additional locations, including Khrom Aesthetics in South Brooklyn, Khrom MedSpa&Wellness in Cobble Hill, and Khrom MedSpa&Wellness in Coral Springs, Florida. Dr. Khrom’s practice embodies a commitment to comprehensive cosmetic dermatological treatments, with her journey to success characterized by perseverance, personal growth, and a pursuit of excellence.
Dr. Khrom was born in Ukraine and spent her early childhood years there, immersing herself in the wonders of her native country. However, at the age of twelve, in 1988, her family decided to move to the United States in search of a better life. Upon crossing the Ukrainian border, her passport was confiscated, severing ties to her past. The move to a foreign land presented numerous challenges, including language barriers and cultural adjustments, as it meant leaving behind everything she knew. Yet, through their determination, Dr. Khrom and her family overcame these obstacles, driven by their hopes for a brighter future.
Reflecting on her past, Dr. Khrom acknowledges that this experience was a matter of geographical relocation and a journey of personal growth. The challenges of moving to a new country and starting over from scratch instilled in her the qualities of perseverance and adaptability, shaping her into the individual she is today.
Dr. Khrom’s decision to specialize in dermatology was influenced by her own struggles with skin issues during her teenage years. Drawing from personal experience, she understands dermatological conditions’ immense impact on one’s self-esteem and quality of life. Her passion for dermatology stems from the diverse range of cases it encompasses, from acne to skin cancer, offering both intellectual stimulation and the opportunity to make a difference in her patients’ lives.
Throughout her career, Dr. Khrom pursued additional training in Mohs surgery, particularly drawing on the challenging cases of skin cancer. This specialized expertise enables her to diagnose and treat conditions precisely, often playing a pivotal role in saving lives. Her competence in procedural dermatology and laser surgery allows her to address various issues, from skin imperfections to acne scarring. Having battled severe acne from her teenage years into her mid-20s, Dr. Khrom deeply understands the emotional toll of acne. This personal experience fuels her empathy and commitment to helping patients overcome acne and acne scarring. She confidently treats acne as early as possible in her patients to prevent the formation of scars.
As an expert in dermatology, Dr. Khrom sees the field as continually evolving with technological and research advancements. This dynamic nature keeps her updated with the latest treatments, allowing her to provide innovative aesthetic solutions to her patients. When she first opened Khrom Dermatology, she was seven months pregnant with her second daughter. With the invaluable support of her amazing colleagues, who assisted her during her brief maternity leave, she was able to continue her practice. Over time, her dermatology practice expanded into the field of aesthetics and grew to several locations.
Among the diverse treatments available at Khrom Dermatology and Aesthetics, acne scarring stands out as a specialty in their practice. This minimally invasive procedure is specifically targeted to address cellulite using a novel tool that can precisely and permanently eliminate the bonds responsible for cellulite dimples.
Regarding treating scars, Dr. Khrom has pioneered transformative treatment combinations to drastically improve the appearance of scarring. Many patients drive and fly in from all over the United States to receive these extraordinarily effective services. Witnessing her patients’ scars fade and their confidence grows is deeply rewarding for her.
