Using his life experiences as an example, Mike Diamond’s eye-opening self-help guide, ‘A Dose of Positivity: Tools, Techniques, and Strategies to Live Life on Your Terms, offers a courageous glimpse at what it means to survive addiction and regain control of your life.
Seventeen years ago, in April 2006, Mike Diamond found himself at a crossroads.
Broken by a lifetime of difficulties, consumed with self-loathing, and unable to fully capitalize on his relentless drive to succeed due to crippling addiction, Mike could see his life spiraling away.
So, he made a choice. He decided to get sober and do something about his out-of-control substance abuse.
Like all recovering addicts, he chose for himself above anyone else.
He did it for the younger Mike, who faced abuse as a kid. He did it for the teenage Mike – the one who was expelled from school and whose talents inside the classroom and outside of it were ignored because of his dyslexia. He did it for the young adult Mike – the one who had fought against the odds and left his home country of Australia after securing himself a US Green Card. He did it for the rising star in the entertainment world, Mike – the one whose charismatic personality saw him working on various TV projects in Miami throughout the early ‘00s (including the show Miami Ink) and owning a club with Stone Temple Pilots singer Scott Weiland.
Most of all, he did it for his future self. Having seen that he could influence and motivate people with his words and actions, Mike decided – on April 16, 2006 – to do something life-changing and life-renewing.
On that day, he walked away from his addiction forever.
Staying Positive
Flash forward to 2023. Addiction no longer controls Mike’s life. The intervening years have seen Mike turn that dark era of his life into a hard-earned positive, and he has helped hundreds of people on their road to recovery from addiction.
He remains a highly successful TV personality and entrepreneur, but he added the words ‘successful author’ and ‘motivational speaker’ to his CV.
In April 2023, Mike released his searingly honest new book, A Dose of Positivity. Part self-help guide, part memoir, the book offered the most comprehensive account of his recovery. In remarkably insightful prose, the book sees Mike recall some incredible stories of hardship. He also gives exclusive access to his techniques for staying grounded, finding success, and creating positive change. Beyond this, the book delves into the spiritual. Mike provides concrete tips on how individuals can lean on and trust their ‘Source’ – the spiritual energy and intuition within themselves – to maintain the flexible attitude necessary for success.
Seventeen years after deciding to go sober, A Dose of Positivity brings Mike’s story full circle in the most beautiful way possible. It has already become an instant success and an invaluable companion for those seeking guidance.
