Interview with (Timmy) Xi Liang, Producer at White Elephant Studio:

Interviewer: Today, we are fortunate to have Timmy Xi Liang, the producer of White Elephant Studio, a highly acclaimed North American production studio. Timmy, could you please introduce yourself?

Timmy: Hello, I’m Timmy, the producer at White Elephant Studio. White Elephant is a production studio based in North America, with headquarters in New York and Los Angeles. We specialize in fashion photography, TVC advertising, short videos, and short film production. Our goal is to provide clients with high-quality creative visual content and comprehensive production services. We consider ourselves practitioners of creativity, dedicated to producing high-quality works with a unique visual language and extensive industry experience.

Interviewer: “White Elephant” is an interesting name. Can you explain its origin?

Timmy: Haha, a White Elephant Gift is a Christmas exchange gift where people swap items they may no longer need. The extended meaning is “Second Chance,” emphasizing that everyone deserves a second chance to strive in life, not bound by the present and always looking towards the future. This reflects my own journey—from graduating in fashion management to working as a producer and creative director.

Interviewer: Impressive! What achievements has White Elephant Studio accomplished over the years?

Timmy: White Elephant Studio initially gained attention for its excellence in fashion photography and TVC advertising. We have a creative and experienced production team that collaborates with top photographers and luxury brands. We’ve produced remarkable pieces for leading magazines and renowned brands. While maintaining our creative and professional standards, we continuously explore new projects, integrating resources. Last year, we ventured into short film production, accumulating rich experience in this area. Overall, we have received high recognition from the industry and clients based on our extraordinary works.

Interviewer: What sets White Elephant apart in the production process? What makes it stand out?

Timmy: It may come from our pursuit of creativity, commitment to quality, and effective communication with clients. Our team consists of passionate and creatively inclined young professionals with extensive production experience. We prioritize close collaboration with clients, understanding their needs to ensure each project meets both high-quality standards and client requirements. Balancing client expectations and providing professional advice is crucial for successful outcomes. Because the producer is the bridge between the client and creative crew to ensure the final result.

Interviewer: Can we discuss the current trend of short film production, especially micro-short films?

Timmy: Certainly! The popularity of micro-short films reflects changes in consumer viewing habits and preferences. Some people have limited time and energy for lengthy TV shows or movies, so micro-short films cater to their need for quick, engaging content on convenient mobile platforms. White Elephant Studio has assembled an experienced directorial team specifically for micro-short films. While the market is growing, success stories exist, but many are still in the experimental phase. We focus on creating high-quality, customized content, combining data-driven analysis with North American market insights. Despite challenges like fragmented shooting locations and higher costs, we leverage our resources efficiently to ensure cost-effective project completion.

Interviewer: What are White Elephant’s future plans and aspirations?

Timmy: We will continue to excel in fashion photography, TVC advertising, and micro-short films, producing impactful and compelling visual works for clients. The micro-short film market in North America has significant potential as an emerging market. We plan to strategically integrate writers, locations, directors, and actors to build a reserve for future productions. Additionally, we aim to discover and nurture more young professionals in the industry because the future belongs to them.
