Mental Health Advocate Cindy Chia Transforms Lives and Breaks Taboos in Asian Community

With unwavering determination and a passion for breaking cultural barriers, Aspire Psychological Founder Cindy Chia has become a trailblazer in advocating for mental health within the Asian community and helping individuals overcome trauma.

Born and raised in a lower-middle-class Chinese Malaysian household, Cindy witnessed her hardworking parents sacrifice their time and energy to support the family. Their resilience inspired her to strive for a better life, leading her to pursue a Bachelor of Psychological Science at the University of South Australia, despite cultural pushbacks.

Cindy’s transformative experience during a study abroad program at Oklahoma State University in 2010 laid the foundation for her career in Counseling Psychology. Recognizing the immense value of her education, she pursued a Master’s in Science in Counseling Psychology at the University of Central Oklahoma, an endeavor that proved life-changing.

After completing her residency in Utah and earning her full licensure, Cindy founded Aspire Psychological. Starting from scratch, she dedicated countless hours to learning the intricacies of running an effective practice. Overcoming doubts and sleepless nights, Cindy’s commitment paid off, and Aspire Psychological experienced a staggering 840% growth within the last six years. The clinic’s exceptional success includes winning four awards for mental health clinic excellence and maintaining a remarkable 0% clinical staff turnover.

Notably, Aspire Psychological stands out for its implementation of Blueprint Health Assessment, a groundbreaking approach that tracks patients’ progress and boasts an impressive clinical treatment effective rate of over 83% since its adoption in 2019.

Driven by a desire to address the lack of mental health resources in the Asian community, Cindy also took to social media to create impactful content on her personal Instagram page. She fearlessly tackles the taboo surrounding mental health, providing valuable insights on breaking generational trauma cycles and sharing her own healing journey from childhood abuse. This authentic and relatable approach has resonated deeply with her audience, bridging the gap between cultural norms and mental health awareness.

Cindy‘s journey has led her to an incredible position as a Council Member and Thought Leader in the esteemed Forbes Business Council since June 2023. This prestigious role opens doors to a wealth of exclusive opportunities that will propel her professional influence to new heights. Furthermore, the remarkable platform empowers Cindy to make a significant impact on the business world while expanding her network and enhancing her professional growth.

Reflecting on her journey, Cindy expresses her gratitude, saying, “If you’d asked me six years ago where I’d be today, I wouldn’t have thought I’d be so fulfilled in my personal life and witness Aspire Psychological’s contributions to society. I’m incredibly thankful to be surrounded by an exceptionally talented team dedicated to helping as many people as we can.”

Aspire Psychological continues to grow under Cindy’s visionary leadership, providing vital support to the Asian community and individuals who have experienced trauma. To further expand her impact, Cindy is excited to announce her upcoming course on Trauma Cyclebreaking, allowing even more individuals to benefit from her expertise and guidance.
