Los Angeles, CA – Dr. Heather, a virtual chiropractor and expert in helping runners achieve optimal performance, is proud to be one of 25 writers featured in the new book, Learning through Pain: 25 Holistic Strategies for Healing Chronic Pain. The book, inspired by serial entrepreneur Natalie Pickett from Melbourne, Australia, shares stories and methods from those who have experienced chronic pain and found ways to heal.
Dr. Heather’s chapter in the book focuses on her personal journey with Facet Syndrome, an arthritic condition that affects the lumbar spine. She shares how a chiropractor helped her recover and how she now helps others heal their pain naturally through corrective exercise and rehabilitation techniques specific to each individual’s condition.
“I always knew I wanted to be a chiropractor,” Dr. Heather said. “I wanted to help people feel pain-free, just like my chiropractor did for me. I wanted to show them that it was possible to move without injury. I wanted to give them hope!”
Dr. Heather’s journey to becoming a chiropractor started when she dislocated her low back in 8th grade while playing varsity softball. Her mother’s chiropractor in Westchester, NY used Kinesiology and spinal adjustments to help her recover quickly, giving her the inspiration to become a chiropractor herself.
At Palmer School of Chiropractic in California, Dr. Heather crafted specific treatment protocols to help people recover faster without the need for surgery or medication. Her approach involves listening to her patients and understanding the anatomy, physiology, and movement patterns of their bodies. By identifying the root cause of the problem and muscle imbalances, she outlines a personalized action plan for each patient.
Dr. Heather’s signature online program has helped thousands of people internationally become pain-free in under a 3-week period. Her approach goes beyond the traditional spinal adjustment and focuses on understanding the anatomy, physiology of the body, and movement patterns of daily living or athletic motion. Dr. Heather’s success in helping individuals become pain-free naturally has helped many, including Cheryl, a 62-year-old female who loves to run. When her physician told her to stop running due to a stress fracture in her foot, she was devastated. But after meeting Dr. Heather and signing up for her 3-week sports chiropractic program, Cheryl was able to run again 100% pain-free, giving her hope and the ability to continue doing what she loves.
In Learning through Pain, Dr. Heather shares her story of how she became a chiropractor and how she now helps others recover from pain. To read her story and others, the book is available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and iBooks in June this year.
