Damont’s Journey
Damont was born in a family where he was raised in a low income single-family home. There were no role models, no guidance, nothing. Nobody told him what he should do with his life or how. He was on his own. But this never became a reason for him to stop. There was a time in his life when he would work more than needed, when he would put in his hard work and pave his way to success, but no one would understand him. He says that the road to success can make you feel alone. You might feel demotivated on the way, but the key is to keep moving forward. That’s what he did. He also had a fear ringing inside his head. What if he failed? What if this wasn’t worth it? But he kept pushing his fears and didn’t care if anyone from his family understood what he was going through. He has been a visionary who knew how to turn his dreams into reality. Fear to him is nothing but the mind block that we create for ourselves. Fear hinders our growth and doesn’t let us be free.
This optimistic mindset towards his journey has led him to be where he is today. Success to him is to be able to do what he wants to do without causing any harm to anyone in the process. His biggest obstacle in life was not becoming a statistic of the prison industrial complex that most black males from single family homes have fallen victim to. The thing that differentiates him from his competition is that he really cares. For him, his career is not just about money. It is about enjoying the process and money is the by-product of it.
Today, Damont is an successful entrepreneur who is leading one of the largest warranty companies in the country and manages a sales floor of over 85 sales representatives. He hires, trains and mentors people to become the best version of themselves and the best sales representatives, if possible. He is leading a consultancy firm, Damont Consulting, that helps people to achieve various goals, from starting a business to a growing presence on social media.
