Truly Timeless | Exclusive Interview with King Chad

Music feeds the soul. It makes up for all that remains unsaid or unspoken, or for which words are never enough. Its ability to help us explain ourselves to ourselves has brought insights and clarity to many. Chadly Francois also known as King Chad, a versatile musician from Brooklyn, has been savoring the delight of music since his college days. With four albums and one more in the pipeline, Chad feels more inspired than ever. Here’s an exclusive interview.

  1. What was your childhood like? A. I grew up in Brooklyn along with my three brothers. I remember playing basketball and football and hoping to make it to the NBA when I was around ten. However, with time, I found my true calling – making music – and have been pursuing and perfecting it since college. I have been blessed to have a supportive family, especially my brothers with whom I have been collaborating for years.
  2. When did you realize you wanted to pursue a career in music? A. My family has always been interested in music and I’m sure that’s what sparked my initial interest. I grew up listening to 106 & Park, Hot 97, Rap City. All these were like kindlers firing up my passion for music. I loved participating in rap battles, unearthing lesser-known musicians, and overall staying committed to fine-tuning my ear and craft. With time, I realized that this wasn’t just a fad, a thing children do before they start taking their lives seriously. It was my life and once I realized that, there was no turning back.
  3. What role did Brooklyn play in your journey? A. Brooklyn is my first and last muse. Right from its streets, cafes, people, thriving cultural life, and that special unspoken thing, it has always kept my creative juices flowing. It’s here that I first discovered my love for music and where I first learned to sustain it. It’s a place that thrives on good energy and is conducive to creative collaborations.
  4. What are your plans? A. I have been working on my new album for which I’m collaborating with my brothers. It’s due next year and we are very excited to bring some authentic and new music to people. We are working very hard to turn it into something pure, raw, and straight from the heart.

King Chad have two brothers by the name of Ashley Francois and Young Knight who are also musical artists and planning to drop a collab album next year.

Please be on the lookout for more music from King Chad
