“Liuyang River” came next, a heartfelt tribute to a beloved Chinese folk song. Lu’s rendition was deeply emotional, with a singing tone highlighting the melody’s nostalgic beauty. The variations showcased his technical skill and emotional range.

The program initially concluded with “The Moon Reflected on Erquan” for the erhu. Lu’s piano transcription retained the haunting melancholy, and his performance was transcendent. The audience sat in silence before erupting into a standing ovation.
