How Rapper CANYON Is Making a Name for Himself in the Ever-So-Competitive Music Industry

Making a dent in the music and entertainment industry is certainly not an easy feat considering that the thirty-billion-dollar industry is brimming with all sorts of talent from left and right. However, CANYON knows exactly how much hard work and dedication must be poured in when one aspires to make it big in the music and entertainment sphere because that’s precisely how he plans to catapult his career to success.

A native from Long Island, New York, CANYON is now on the journey of advancing his musical career in the busy streets of Los Angeles, California. His stage name CANYON epitomizes his depth as an artist and symbolizes his two home states, California and New York.

CANYON started rapping at the age of eleven, and by thirteen, he was already putting out music on the internet and slowly setting up a loyal following. Unfortunately, despite the songs doing well, even going as far as making it into international charts, they were taken down for copyright issues. But this didn’t inconvenience the hip-hop artist in any way; instead, it further fueled his passion for his craft, realizing that he had quite the musical flair.

Although he was motivated to advance his career as a musician, the former New Yorker had to pause his development briefly and went on to pursue college. He worked in tech sales right after but kept rapping on the side for five years with the intent of going back to his roots. However, when the COVID-19 pandemic hit, CANYON saw the opportunity to transition and eventually, in 2020, he was able to write an entire album and record it in 2021. Now, the album is set to launch later this year, but according to the rapper, he’s planning to expand it due to its high demand.

“The pandemic gave me a lot of time and solidarity made me look deep down inside to figure out what I wanted,” CANYON shares, adding that from here on out, he is going to be moving forward.

As a rapper, CANYON’s primary inspiration is Tupac, admitting that the late artist was the very reason why he got into writing raps when he was just a little kid. But, other than that, he also has high respect for other rappers like Eminem, Lil Wayne, Kanye, Wu-Tang, Mac Miller, Travis Scott, and so much more.

Based on the musician’s previous creations, he mixes it up a lot when it comes to producing his sound, going for creativity, confidence, and distinctness above anything else. Unlike many strait-laced artists, though, the eccentric CANYON admits that his ability to freestyle continuously to any beat is matchless, especially right after a “good puff.” But, of course, other than that, his entire musical prowess is a remarkable accomplishment by itself.

At present, CANYON is fresh off the release of a music video for his track called IN THE PAINT, a song telling a narrative of how he is all grown up and becoming a revolutionary free-thinker. The single also pays homage to Waka Flocka’s Hard in the Paint, a big hit during the musician’s high school days. “IN THE PAINT” has made history and exceeded expectations after gaining over 1.28 million streams on Soundcloud, boosting New York natives’ streaming statistics on the app. The music video for “IN THE PAINT” is now on YouTube, and it captivated viewers with its vibrant depiction of life in New York.

In years to come, CANYON hopes to become even more prominent in the industry, win prestigious awards like a Grammy and work with even more talented artists – goals he has set ever since stepping foot into the spotlight. But over everything else, he aspires to reach out to people and inspire them through his music. 2022 is gearing up to be a breakthrough year for CANYON, so be sure to stay tuned into his journey.
