Henny the Don and His Passion for Creating Music that Inspires

Being able to touch people’s hearts and create a positive impact on their lives is what drives Henny The Don to make music. Born Lamar Cogmon and raised in Harlem, the budding musician started singing and rapping at the tender age of six. By the time he turned twelve, he had begun writing his own songs and has not stopped since.

Inspired by music legends like Michael Jackson, Bobby Brown, Prince, Mary J Blige, and many more, the artist uses his craft to share his life story, including all of the things he had to endure. He had experienced many obstacles and hardships at a young age, but he did not let them bring his spirit down. He was able to overcome the hurdles he faced by believing in himself and his capabilities. Making a commitment to become better, he worked even harder and started promoting himself and his music. His hard work started to pay off when people began to notice and appreciate his incredible talent.

For him, music is a way to build a meaningful connection with others who may be going through the same struggles as him. The singer-songwriter hopes that he can make the rest of the world feel better and motivate them to improve themselves through his work.

What makes him stand out from the competition is his fantastic stage presence. He makes it a priority to get the crowd involved and feel his passion for music, and this is why people look forward to his every performance.

The pandemic has made things more challenging for the young artist. However, he was able to bounce back quickly by collaborating with other music acts. His 2021 was off to a productive start when he released two extended play records named Don of all Dons and The One, which are available on all digital and streaming platforms.

The diligent worker is also in the process of creating several exciting projects, including a new genre he calls Rhythm and Gangsta or R&G. It is a mix between hip-hop and rhythm and blues, which was inspired by a few personalities such as Marvin Gaye, Musiq Soulchild, and Al Green, among others. To showcase this innovation, he plans on releasing an EP called The King of R&G. Finally, his visual projects and music videos are already underway as the visionary believes that they are the final pieces of the puzzle that would make his music come alive.

In the future, Henny The Don aims to further his career by continuously promoting his work every chance he gets. He also wants to cross over to the world of acting. He plans to produce more video projects and start a podcast called The Naked Truth, where people can witness his acting prowess.

For now, knowing that listeners are having fun and can relate to his message motivates him to carry on creating uplifting music.
