Born on August 10, 1999, the New York-based actress and model starred alongside Oscar Award-winning actor Forest Whitaker in the television series Godfather of Harlem, which premiered on September 29, 2019, on Epix. She also made appearances in other notable TV series projects, including God Friended Me, The Deuce, and New Amsterdam.
How she landed her roles in these projects is a continuous story of hard work, determination, and patience—attributes that she values deeply, knowing that they will keep her grounded as she works hard to make a name for herself. Her desire to become an actress was sparked by a TV show called Martin by Martin Lawrence that she watched religiously as a teenager. Destiny Diamond McGraw watched it intently with every intention to learn how actors throw their lines by keeping the captions on. She was overly impressed by the remarkable performance of seasoned actor Martin Lawrence and how he could easily play different characters. Inspired by his versatility as an artist, Destiny emulated her favorite actor’s techniques and would spend hours practicing how to express different personalities.
Determined that she is called to pursue an acting career, Destiny Diamond McGraw invested in acting classes to further sharpen her skills. In a matter of time, she was able to seamlessly carry out any character, helping her land a supporting role in the film A Teenage Story. Presently, she is working closely with fellow actor and acting instructor Marc Jon as she pursues bigger projects both in the big and small screens ahead of her.
She may be a long way from becoming the kind of actress she wants to be known for, but Destiny Diamond McGraw is nothing but grateful that she has gone this far despite the odds.
