Meagan Good, with her remarkable contributions to the entertainment industry, stands as a testament to hard work and resilience. With a career spanning three decades, Good has made her mark in Hollywood through notable roles in television series such as “Eve’s Bayou,” “Cousin Skeeter,” “NBC’s Deception,” and the “Think Like A Man” series, among many others. Throughout her journey, she remains committed to creating opportunities for others, especially young Black girls, to ensure they don’t face the same challenges she did.
Growing up as the only Black family in her Santa Clarita, Calif. neighborhood, Good sought representation on television, which inspired her entry into the industry. Acting became her safe haven, where she felt most comfortable and confident. Overcoming obstacles like racism and losing her work permit in sixth grade, Good’s passion for acting grew stronger. Through dedication and hard work, she has established herself as a versatile actress, producer, and director.
Good’s latest role as Columbia professor Camille Parks in the series “Harlem” has allowed her to explore different facets of her craft. She describes the character as a blend of sensitivity, confidence, and occasional social awkwardness. The show’s emphasis on real experiences that women, particularly Black women, go through has made it a highlight of her career. In addition to her acting accomplishments, Good has ventured into directing, with notable projects including the second episode of season two of “Harlem” and her directorial debut in 2019 with “If Not Now, When?” co-directed with Tamara Bass.
In her interview with COMPULSIVE Magazine, Good expressed her passion for directing and her desire to create projects that provide social commentary and portray the capabilities and worthiness of all individuals. She also shared her admiration for Halle Berry and expressed her dream of working with her on a kick-ass movie with artistic activism and social commentary.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Good is dedicated to giving back to the community through her Greater Good Foundation. Alongside her sister La’Myia, she aims to inspire and guide younger generations, helping them pursue their dreams and discover their purpose.
Readers of COMPULSIVE Magazine will also get an exclusive glimpse into Meagan Good’s personal preferences and interests. In a candid interview, she shared her favorite beauty items, guilty pleasures, dream vacation preferences, travel aspirations, go-to meals, and hobbies outside of work.
As Good continues to evolve in her career and personal life, she remains driven by the desire to make a difference and create meaningful projects. With her unwavering determination, she believes her most fulfilling role is yet to come.
