Vimit Gandhi: Harvard Alum Evaluates Digital and Technology Options for Consuming Art

Harvard and IIT Bombay alum Vimit Gandhi uses his engineering and art expertise to explore digital and technology options for consuming art. Vimit has a strong background in engineering and a longstanding photography hobby, leading him to consider the intersection of technology and the arts from a unique perspective. Vimit’s expertise comes from a rich academic background and several years of experience in both photography and engineering. He received the Boeing Student Award when he was a student at IIT Bombay. Vimit earned semester honors and a citation on the Dean’s List when he attended Purdue University. Vimit’s photograph was selected among the top three photos in an art society competition at Harvard Business School. His interests in art and technology have been intertwined for many years. Vimit experimented with drone photography to combine these two fields, culminating in his photos being selected as finalists at the Siena Global Drone Photography Awards for two years in 2022 and 2023. 

As a business strategist, Vimit has advised numerous companies on topics ranging from pricing, sales, and cost transparency to customer segmentation. He has helped many technology, fintech, telecom, and travel companies grow revenues through various commercial strategies. His deep understanding of business operations has led him to professional success. Although he is currently a consultant at a global management consulting company, Vimit plans to use this knowledge to launch his own business in a few months. This start-up will undoubtedly reflect his experience with engineering and his artistic pursuits. 

At Harvard Business School, Vimit was prompted to contemplate his plan for “one wild and precious life,” a notion inspired by Mary Oliver’s renowned poem.
