Every woman desires to look a certain way or have a particular body type. A simple surgical change makes all the difference in enabling a woman to feel her absolute best. It boosts her self-confidence, makes her comfortable, and makes her feel good about herself. However, finding a surgeon with whom you are at ease has been crucial for women worldwide. Dr. Patrick Hsu changes the game, as he is renowned for being attentive to detail and providing individualized care for each patient in a comfortable and caring environment.
Dr. Patrick was born and raised in Short Hills, New Jersey, and began training at Rutgers College, where he received a Bachelor of Science. He received his medical degree from the UMDNJ—Robert Wood Johnson Medical School—and graduated as the president of his class with the highest honors and distinction. He is now a board-certified plastic surgeon and reconstructive microsurgeon who has been in practice for 11 years, focusing heavily on breast reconstruction. He is recognized for his expertise in Brazilian Butt Lifts (BBL), having performed thousands of this specific body contouring procedure, which has the highest mortality rate of any cosmetic surgery.
Driven by passion, In 2013, Dr. Patrick founded Memorial Plastic Surgery, one of the leading Houston plastic surgeries, offering state-of-the-art reconstructive cosmetic and medical spa procedures on the face, breasts, and body to patients in Texas and beyond. He didn’t stop there. In 2019, he launched two medical ventures, Memorial Ambulatory Surgical Centre and Hedwig Recovery Suites, and expanded Memorial Plastic Surgery to accommodate its rapid growth and success.
Through hard work, Dr. Patrick has garnered multiple awards, including the Rudolph C. Camishion Award for Academic Excellence in Surgery. He has also received the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School Alumni Association Award. He has been recognized as one of 2015’s “Super Doctors Rising Stars.” Texas Monthly Magazine named him a Texas Super Doctor in 2016. And in 2017, he was listed as a RealSelf.com Top Doctor. In 2021, he was listed in News Week as one of the best plastic surgeons and featured among the top 200 plastic surgeons for breast augmentation and the top 150 for liposuction, facelifts, and rhinoplasty. In total, 387 individual plastic surgeons were ranked, with some being recognized for more than one procedure.
However, Dr. Patrick’s journey has not been a cakewalk, as his parents divorced at a young age and, being the firstborn in a family of three, he had to help his mother make ends meet. At 14, he worked as a stock boy at the mall until it closed, and on weekends, he worked as a busboy at a Chinese restaurant. His biggest challenge was entering medical school and starting his career journey. Dr. Patrick made many poor decisions that lowered his grades, and he even thought he wouldn’t make it at one time, but he didn’t give up on his dream, which has pulled him into who he is today.
Dr. Patrick says his greatest inspiration is his uncle, an orthopedic surgeon who is a skilled and caring doctor. He advises other upcoming surgeons to be their motivation and let their passion drive them to their destiny.
Dr. Patrick is confident in his ability to continue building a reputable, world-class surgical experience where his patients will feel whole. Additionally, he plans to add two more prominent plastic surgeons to the group and venture more into male and facial aesthetics.
