Samuel Libenzon: Creative Director @ OAKLAND TRUST Marketing

The pandemic slowed down business for all of us, therefore it is crucial to come back strong. Most businesses saw profits decline since late 2020. To lead the way during this new year of 2023 your marketing strategy may require some changes.

Try new things.

This is a perfect opportunity to make some noise in the marketing space. Content is being pushed out in new ways constantly, meaning there’s not much room for the same old tactics. A common issue brands face is being able to stand out with so much content out there. Not being afraid of pushing the envelope will be a major difference between success and failure.

Focus more on social media

Social media is a double-edged sword, if you cast too wide of a net you will waste time and effort with little results. Pick your platform based on which gives the best engagement, and dial in completely into that one. Sometimes trying to please everyone leads to pleasing no one. Research your demographic on that platform and what they are interested in.

Don’t make your content about your brand, make it about topics your target audience is interested in.

If you’re clients are mainly young professionals interested in comedy, try to incorporate that into your content. Make an Ad that is indistinguishable from just a fun ordinary video. Allow people to enjoy your content without being tied to your brand, if you know what your customers are interested in this will not be difficult.

Increase online presence to boost SEO

Less is not more with online prescience. If your going to be on instagram, be on Instagram every day. Post often and write alt text that includes your key words, Instagram comments show up on google searches. Every single picture in your feed has Alt text that can be filled with your chosen key words.

This is a time in business where things move very fast, if you don’t adapt and stay alert you can miss trends that would’ve given you a huge boost. Staying on top of what’s relevant is difficult when managing a full time business, don’t be afraid to get help with promoting your work.
