Established by two ex college soccer players, Sam Henneberg and Victor Cascon, Select Generation identifies international opportunities for North American soccer talent at the collegiate level.

 

Miami, Florida —

Select Generation is an international soccer agency specializing in talent acquisition for players, scouts, agents and coaches to bring opportunities and exposure for soccer players in North America. Founded in 2022, it has seen over 60 players commit to the NCAA, taken over 150 players for international opportunities, and scouted at more than 30 tournaments across the US and Canada. In August 2024, Sam Henneberg and Victor Cascon founded Select Generation Academy, a football club based in Salamanca, Spain. Select Generation doesn’t act in a standard pay to play agency model found in the USA. They assist emerging soccer players by helping them stay on relevant in navigating the increasingly competitive college recruitment process, also giving opportunities to play and study abroad. They act more as mentors with good knowledge than typical expensive recruiters, who usually commit to any level player if they can afford the services. Recently in the NCAA for soccer, the high number of international players and smaller roster sizes has created significant challenges for players trying to advance in their soccer careers, and this is where Select Generation’s guidance makes all the difference. 

The agency’s success is rooted in its focus on talent. It selects players carefully through watching players live and recommendations from trusted sources. The Origins of Select Generation

Sam and Victor first crossed paths in 2021 when they both played for NC Fusion U23 in the USL2, a developmental soccer league. Professional team players on the field and good friends off the field, they returned to their respective universities. After graduation, work led both of them to Charlotte, North Carolina, where they lived together. Select Generation started as a hobby, with Sam Victor sharing their knowledge with younger players and connecting them with NCAA coaches through their network in Charlotte. 

After a few months, Sam and Victor successfully hosted Select Generation’s inaugural college showcase in Mathews, where 26 players were present. What began as a fun event grew into something much bigger, fueled by their love for the game and their desire to help others in similar situations. They expanded their showcases to the cities of Boston, San Francisco, and New York. Today, Select Generation has more than 60 National Collegiate Athletics Association commitments, has scouted at 30-plus tournaments, and has explored and secured more than 150 international opportunities for their players.
