Liujun Du, a figure in this emerging landscape, recently shared her perspective on the mission and vision of Autonomy Studio, emphasizing its dedication to making autonomous building control more accessible, even for those without extensive technical expertise.
Autonomy Studio aims to change the way buildings are modeled and managed by providing a user-friendly platform that simplifies the creation of custom models for autonomous control systems. Since each building is unique and requires customized models, Autonomy Studio offers a targeted creation tool designed to guide users through a structured process, addressing potential technological challenges. The platform features an intuitive interface and predefined workflows, equipping a broad spectrum of users with the necessary tools to design and implement autonomous systems. This enables users to describe their buildings and HVAC systems in a way that the PassiveLogic framework can interpret and manage.
Du’s inspiration to focus on user experience design in the realm of autonomy and automation comes from her strong passion for making complex technologies more accessible and easier to use. She believes that the full potential of advanced systems, such as autonomous building controls, may be realized when users are able to interact with them in a simple, intuitive way. This tool is notable for its ability to offer users detailed insights into their building’s performance, including historical data, predictive analytics, and the reasoning behind control decisions. However, by prioritizing clarity and user empowerment, the Analytics Viewer shifted maintenance workflows from reactive to proactive, allowing users to identify and address potential issues before they escalate.
