Jerrika Cox believes anyone can be successful at whatever venture they undertake, and she leaves no detail out as she shares her journey to business success and niche dominance
One way to become successful is to learn from the journey and experiences of successful people. There’s so much information out there on how to become successful but asking advice from others who are successful can be costly, not least in terms of time. And when there’s a lack of knowledge of who to ask in the first place, it is even harder.
Seeing the ordeal entrepreneurs and startups face in their journey to building sustainable brands, Jerrika Cox, President of Wifi Wealth, has shared her story on the factors that led to her successful career. In addition, Cox highlighted the challenges she faced and how entrepreneurs like her can overcome them.
Jerrika Cox has been an entrepreneur with over a decade of experience in online marketing and E-commerce. She currently builds, optimizes, and manages Amazon FBA stores. Speaking about her entrepreneurial journey, Jerrika Cox had this to say, “I grew up in foster care, but I was able to ‘break the cycle’ and get a full-ride scholarship to a private university in Seattle. After graduating, I worked as an accountant for a boutique law firm, but I knew that I wanted the freedom and unlimited earning capacity that came with being an entrepreneur. I took all the money I saved from my 9-5 and invested it into myself and my business, and I’ve never looked back.”
Like 99 percent of entrepreneurs, Jerrika Cox did not have it rosy from the beginning. The first venture Cox started was a nutraceuticals E-commerce brand that failed before seeing the light of the day. “My first venture was a nutraceuticals E-commerce brand that was a total flop. That venture taught me that failure doesn’t have to be the end of the road. The learning experience I received from that failure prepared me for my next success,” Cox explained.
One of the many desires of Jerrika Cox is to have others experience the comfort and security that comes with financial freedom. She founded Wifi Wealth to help her pursue that desire; using Amazon FBA is perfect for helping others attain financial freedom due to its stability and sustainability.
“At Wifi Wealth, our clients are our partners. We only make money if our clients are making money,” said Jerrika Cox. “One of the biggest differences in what we do is that we developed proprietary software which selects high performing products. Then we build a brand out from scratch. Which prevents others from stealing our products and listings when they realize how well they are performing. None of our competition is doing that,” she added.
Having built financial freedom for herself through passive income streams and Amazon FBA, Cox shares that the biggest challenge to starting a business as an entrepreneur is willing to take risks. “Risk is extremely uncomfortable,” Cox affirmed. “Getting processes and procedures in place is always a bit of a challenge too. I’m very anxious the first few months after a new launch because I don’t want any of my customers to be negatively affected by a process or procedure that hasn’t been perfected yet.”
Cox gave voice to the importance of having a positive mindset when starting a business. “Mindset is everything,” said Cox. “I create a positive mindset by always looking for the learning opportunity in every experience. No matter how frustrating or bad it may seem, there’s always an opportunity for growth if you look for it. Asking myself, “how are you helping others today'” is one way I keep my mindset in line.”
On her best-kept secret for starting a business, Cox reveals that every entrepreneur must be discerning enough to delegate jobs to the right persons and be willing to hire capable hands. “I delegate all tasks that are not suited specifically to my skill set, and I put the right people in the right positions in my company. There are no square pegs in round holes here,” Cox explained.
