Venturing into the World of Technology and Investment
Meshkurti’s passion for innovation and entrepreneurship was ignited while studying politics in the UK. Her desire to make a meaningful impact on the world led her to pursue opportunities beyond academia, eventually leading her to Switzerland in 2014. It was here, amidst the vibrant tech scene of Geneva, that Meshkurti’s career truly began to flourish. “I was working with a lot of companies to put them on the map for the startup hub,” she shares.
Her tenure as the Head of Marketing, Communications, and Engagement at FONGIT (Fondation Genevoise pour l’Innovation Technologique), Switzerland’s premier technology startup incubator part of the Swiss government, laid the foundation for Meshkurti’s expertise in the startup ecosystem. At FONGIT, Meshkurti was pivotal in supporting and mentoring startups in emerging technologies. Her efforts helped propel numerous startups to success, solidifying her reputation as a trusted advisor and mentor within the industry.
Meshkurti’s passion for fostering innovation extended beyond her work at FONGIT. As a program officer at the United Nations International Telecommunication Union (ITU), she spearheaded initiatives promoting digital inclusion and skills development across Europe. Her groundbreaking work in standardization and innovation paved the way for the ITU Smart Incubator program, which provided crucial support to tech startups in developing countries.
A New Chapter in Investment
In 2023, Meshkurti began her roles as a tech investor and strategic board member at AMVS Capital, a firm dedicated to supporting startups from seed to Series A funding. Through AMVS Capital, Meshkurti has facilitated numerous investments, connecting high-net-worth individuals with promising startups across various industries. “We evaluate your needs to make sure you’re aligned with the right investor,” she says. “We’re all about finding you the perfect fit.”
Meshkurti’s impact extends beyond the investment world. As the Co-Editor in Chief of Moneys Magazine, she has provided a platform for investors and entrepreneurs to share their insights and experiences. Additionally, Meshkurti’s upcoming podcast aims to offer valuable insights into the world of investment and entrepreneurship. “Breaking into the investment space can be difficult,” she says. “It’s important to find a good mentor—if I share my experience and expertise and it helps someone reach their goals, that’s amazing.”
Looking to the Future
Despite her many achievements, Meshkurti remains grounded and focused on her long-term goal of raising funds for startups in the Balkan region. “Everything I’m doing now is working toward that goal,” she says. Her dedication to empowering entrepreneurs and fostering innovation is evident in every aspect of her work.
